The 2013 version of the "Blackaneers" maybe the most interesting version since the days of Mike Alstott and John Lynch. They are certainly a far cry from the recent years of "Raheem's Dreem Teem" which featured embarrassingly low totals of White athletes that would make a caste-villian like Dan Rooney squeal with delight. That said, I feel a team thread is worthy of discussion in addition to the popular Hillis and Leonard threads.

Back when the Bucs hired Greg Schiano, I posted this in the "2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers" thread; "Schiano's hobby is taking talented White tailbacks like Brian Leonard and Joe Martinek and converting them into undersized 'human battering rams'." Well in his first season as head coach he didn't have any White running backs to continue his Rutger's fetish / tradition. Looks like year 2 he's gonna get a double dose of White guys to "mess with". Doug Martin is one of the few legitimately talented black running backs so putting some "whiteys" behind him follows NFL tradition (see Hester behind Tomlinson or Gerhart behind Peterson). Now as Schiano's harshest critic, I'll have to give him credit that he's even bringing in Leonard and Hillis. In the NFL there is always the chance that they could have gone unsigned, effectively ending their careers. He's also just drafted QB Mike Glennon who could push the insanely, inconsistent Josh Freeman for the starting role at some point down the line. That's assuming the Glazer Family :kev: would allow such blasphemy.

Here's rotoworld's take on how the Tampa backfield will shape up:

The Bucs see Brian Leonard as a third-down option.

The Bucs' backfield is starting to take shape. Doug Martin is going to be an every-down back and the bell cow. When he needs a breather on early downs, Michael Smith or Peyton Hillis will come on. When he asks out on third downs, Leonard will get the call. None of these backup-caliber players are a threat to Martin's projected workload.

Well yea, "backup-caliber" players like Hillis who could step in a rush for 1,000 yards. We shouldn't expect more than a few token carries for either.

320x.jpg

Caption: Stockholm Syndrome? Was There No Better Team To Sign With Brian?

The Bucs currently are slated to start a paltry 3 Whites:
TE Luke Stocker
FB Eric Lorig (if they use one)
DT Gary Gibson.

Yes, that's right they start an entirely cocoa offensive line which I suppose is good as we want Freeman on his backside as much as possible. White reserves are however littered all over.

QB Mike Glennon, Dan Orlovsky, Adam Weber
T Mike Remmers, Gabe Carimi, Brice Schwab
G Adam Smith
C Ted Larsen, Cody Wallace
TE Tom Crabtree, Zach Miller, Nate Byham
WR David Douglas
RB Peyton Hillis, Brian Leonard
DT Derek Landri, Matthew Masifilio
LB Jacob Cutrera, Joe Holland
S Cody Grimm, Sean Baker, Nick Saenz

Will any of these guys get a chance to crack the lineup or even make the roster? Will Schiano have a change of heart or will he screw Leonard again and Hillis too for good fun? Will the Hillis Curse strike once more?

At least there is a reason to monitor this crappy team.

i haven't watched Bucs since Alstott retired, and even while few years before Gruden was ****ing him over, i kept up with the team quite faithfully until then.

if these guys make the team, i am definitely tuning in.

There's a strong uptick in White scrubs under Schiano, how many of them make the team and how many eventually start we'll have to wait and see. The number of injured black players (or ones who won't play hurt) seems to be going up yearly in the NFL so that may be the way some of the White players get into the starting lineup over the course of the season.

I'm not even counting on Hillis making the team at this point, but wouldn't it be great if the "Hillis Curse" strikes yet again!

remember how we were optimistic about Hillis and he got his shout. Maybe we should try that again. The only problem is that all black line is probably not going to go all out blocking for Whitey.

I have been reading that they are thin at rb and are concerned if Martin can handle the same workload. The dwfs are saying bring in "some real backs" but I think Hillis might be the answer to spell him, but thats me being optimistic. Leonard is long forgottten as a rb, at least Hillis is still considered a hybrid fb/rb, the same role he was considered as when going to the Browns and the Chiefs, except the Chiefs were more poorly run, running the same play over and over with Hillis expecting different results. Hopefully he can get at least a small workload. Martin has good size, so not sure where the concerns about his workload are coming from, but they usually, almost always don't make this stuff up for black backs.

Hillis fumbled twice in practice today. What the hell's wrong with him that he fumbles so often? It's starting to look either Hillis or Leonard will fill one role, not both, and it's hard to see Schiano cutting Leonard. Peyton better get it in gear very quickly.

Brian Leonard Is The Peyton Hillis The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thought They Wanted At Running Back

When Brian Leonard was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he wasn’t touted by fans as an answer to the running back depth problem the Bucs were facing. That’s partly because Buccaneers’ fans didn’t care about the running back depth problem, as shoring up the defensive backfield was the top priority, and little else was on the minds of Buccaneer nation (myself included, to be honest).

But the former Rutgers running back was brought in to offer a reliable backup for Doug Martin, and to replace the one-dimensional LeGarrette Blount. Leonard is never going to be 1000 yard back Blount once was, but he provides a wealth of abilities beyond the hard-hitting running the Bucs got from the former Oregon Duck who is now in New England. This offseason has proven that Leonard’s addition should have been viewed with a bit more legitimacy.

He has been impressive in practices when given a chance, including a long touchdown run in a scrimmage under the lights at Raymond James Stadium. During Thursday’s training camp session, Leonard was the “third down†back for the first team two minute drill team, running sidecar with Josh Freeman as the team marched down the field. Peyton Hillis, however, fumbled the ball twice, and didn’t get many chances to impress on Thursday. Expectations were somewhat high when Hillis was signed, but he’s failed to stand out up to this point.

Brian Leonard has never carried the ball 100 times in a season, and he’s never had more than 500 total yards in a season. Unlike a player who has fallen from grace like Hillis, Leonard is still looking to prove himself in the NFL. And while he’s not going to emerge as a breakout superstar for the Buccaneers, he could serve a very important role by keeping Doug Martin from being overworked, especially in third down pass protection situations. He’s clearly working hard to do so this offseason, and he has the continued trust of his college head coach to keep him going.

And with Mike James, Erik Lorig, and Michael Smith all in the fold, Leonard got affirmation today that he has an advantage in the race for a roster spot as a third down back and a backup to Doug Martin. Will he be able to take hold of the job, and give the Bucs the depth they need?

I don't get how Hillis went from being such a stud running back to a nobody now. The guy has the complete package, nice speed and great strength. He might be the strongest back in the league. It seems the Hillis curse is working against him these days.

its just one practice, and a way to put down both guys in the same article, like they kept going on about how Leonard will "never do this or be that" 2 fumbles in a day of training camp isn't a big deal. I have heard of affletes fumbling more in a day. Like Chris Ivory, who was supposed to be the bell cow for the Jets, but like with the Saints, injured already. He fumbled like 5 or 6 times in one practice. If I had to guess I would say the fumble problems are a very small part due to his 8 inch hands, but mostly due to his running style, nobody ever seemed to work with ball security with him, and its just easier for defenders to try and punch the ball out rather than take him down. Chris Ivory also has a punishing style of running, and a ball security problem. It has just come out in practice more than games because he hasn't gotten many snaps due to injury and being inactive because no capability to pass block or be a threat in the pass game. Just the other day Hillis looked great in practice. Its a thing of ups and downs. Hillis has just to understand he can't have a down day. White guys on the bubble can't have a down day and must make highlight plays every practice.

Now if he doesn't look a 100 percent running the ball, my guess is the hamstring issue. Sometimes those things never go away. Someone needs to work with him on ball security, taping a ball to his hands for an entire offseason isn't going to do anything. Peterson, also a punishing running style, had like 18 fumbles in a 2 year span, so it can be corrected. Eric Dickerson had 49 in a 4 year span, his "best" 4 year span with a high of 14 in one season, but of course this is never used to put down these players.

or there could be two other explanations. Either Hillis is not smart enough to realize the discrimination against him and doesn't think he has to be 100 percent perfect, or he realizes the discrimination and really doesn't care about playing football anymore, but is there to collect a check. I mean, not everyone can be Mike Hass. He has already proven to himself he can run for 1k, knows he probably won't get a real shot to do it again, and if he does, he isn't going to get the big payout like he had previously hoped, so why risk more injuries in going all out.

I mean look at how many of us get fed up with the NFL and say we won't be watching it....imagine being the player getting screwed over and actually living it. The money is nice but I don't know how much I could take personally. Well okay I am broke and have kids so I'd probably be an undersized battering ram but maybe he has other very well paid career opportunities once he is done, and I don't believe he has any kids yet.

This was the case I think for Matt Jones, he could have hung on at the fringe of the league competing for a 4th and 5th receiver spot, but he knew he could put up 1k as a number 1 receiver, and after the Bengals, he simply didn't tryout for the Redskins I believe thats the team who offered him a tryout after the Bengals waived him. It simply wasn't worth it to him. They were probably bringing him in as a camp body anyway. I am sure he is still living pretty well. It just sucks because its a waste of talent.

The resounding answer for most of these guys is NO. Boy do I feel foolish for saying anything nice about Schiano as he really purged away alot of White guys. All 3 White safeties, gone. Updated 53 man roster:

QB (2) Mike Glennon, Dan Orlovsky
RB (2) Brian Leonard, Peyton Hillis
FB (1) Erik Lorig
TE (3) Luke Stocker, Tom Crabtree, Nate Byham
O-line (2) Ted Larson, Gabe Carimi
DE (1) Trevor Scott
DT (2) Derek Landri, Gary Glover
ST (3) Eric Economos, Ryan Lindell, Michael Koenen

LB Jacob Cutrera is on IR.

16 out of 53 is bad but only 2 starters is worse. I'd give this team a D+ and the + is only because they have 2 White running backs.

Chris Jones isn't white - he is mulatto - I was looking up his status yesterday and stumbled across a video of him getting drafted with his family. His dad is black

Yes the NFL has a few Quadroons that look like Whites in the league. Derrick Moye and the Eagles corner Chris Poyer all look like Southern Euros. I only new about Moye having a Mulatto father because he was a high school "legend" who drank his way out of organized football and has battled with the bottle the whole life of the younger Moye. I think ESPN had a piece on Moye in his senior year.

...Which wouldn't be a bad thing from a caste perspective if DWF's saw them as white. Unfortunately, their "black heritage" is trumpeted often. That way the dimwits know that's the reason for their supa-affletic success.

Let's not be shocked if/when Glennon is set up to fail. He will have to play well enough to overcome officiating, and his own coaching staff.

Awake in America, Sir, let's just look at the bright side here. This say the first black qb down for the year and replaced with a White guy. This is only the first. There'll be more. I see rgiii, the guy in Buffalo, Oakland, Philly, NYC and even possibly SF all being replaced by White men. You can say I'm looking at things with rose colored glasses, but I think it's all very possible.

A couple of important points coming out of Freeman's demotion. 1) even a caste devotee like Schiano realizes that at a certain point if he wants his team to stay competitive he's got to go with the better player, at least at the QB position. 2) This underscores the important issue of backup qb's. Just two years ago Freeman's replacement would have been another black quarterback. Similarly having Hoyer waiting in the wings in Cleveland was also important. One reason I haven't been as depressed as others on this board with the emergence of so many magical negro QB's is that almost all of them, except in Seattle, have capable white backups, and the white qbs on thin ice in Jacksonville and maybe Minnesota have white backups as well.

Blacks almost always fail when all they can do is pass.

Atleast with scrambling QBs , the media can always push the false hope that they would learn to pass and combine the two skills to make traditional White pocket passer QBs obsolete.

Greg Schiano may be a "gap-toothed wigger" as he has been dubbed by some here, but the blacks on the Tampa plantation don't like him. Schiano seems to be a follower of Bill Belichick; he took his team up to New England during training camp to scrimmage with the Patriots, and he has taken some baby steps toward making the Bucs less coal black. But he should have been much more aggressive in that direction as a mostly black team will not respond to a strong, old school type of White head coach and hasn't since the late 1960s early 1970s era. From Weenieworld:

A former Bucs player who spent 2012 in Tampa calls playing for coach Greg Schiano "worse than you can imagine," and "like being in Cuba." Per reporter Mike Silver, several current players describe a "similarly bleak environment in which the all-powerful, unyielding Schiano spews tone-deaf platitudes." Ex-Buc and current Seahawks DE Michael Bennett was willing to go on the record with his distaste for his former coach. "I think he just wants to flex his power," Bennett said. "He has small (man's) syndrome. I still talk to guys who are there, and trust me, there's not much respect for him in that locker room." With each passing week, it becomes more and more clear that Schiano is going to need a miracle to save his job.

This is why I can't feel sorry for Schiano. He made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Other than drafting Mike Glennon to replace the worst (statistically) starting QB in the NFL, what pro-White moves has he done? Sure the fringes of his roster have some White scrubs but an all-black offensive line? No Whites on defense other than some backup caliber DTs? Not even a "Welker clone" to advance the passing game? Doug Martin gets hurt but Brian Leonard is not even considered to be the starter?

Based on his track record with Rutgers and now Tampa Bay, Schiano is not pro-White at all. He's a run-of-the-mill Caste coach. Screw him! Screw that Gap-toothed Wigger...:icon_wink:

I agree. I want to like Schiano because I prefer his style over the "player's coach" template that now predominates -- meaning sensitive, paternalistic, gruff on occasion to blacks but always giving them a big hug or kiss afterwards, etc. -- but unfortunately Schiano doesn't have a clue as to how the racial dynamics have been in the NFL for the past 40 years.

I wonder if Schiano will give Brian Leonard a fair amount of playing time and touches tonight or if he makes 6th round rookie Mike James the "workhorse" as Doug Martin's replacement. I'll be surprised if James is very good. Schiano shouldn't have cut Peyton Hillis, and Leonard is the best all-around running back on the team (probably even better than Martin if he had ever received a chance to start), but Caste principles and "logic" will likely prevail, as they almost always do in the NFL.

Since Doug Martin appears to be out for the year Schiano should consider adding his former college player Joe Martinek.

Martinek is a 220 pound running back with 4.4 speed. If he was black he'd be on a team somewhere.

According to Weenieworld, this gap-toothed slob just cut white DE Trevor Scott. Last week I updated the white practice squad players on the main NFL page. Tampa was up to 4 or 5 on their p-squad, which is a lot. This comes after signing a bunch of white backup type free agents prior to the season.

It seems this (caste) clown and the organization, which has not drawn well since Gruden left, desperately wants to add white some faces to the club, after Raheem Morris tried to turn them into the Grambling Bucs a few years ago. Perhaps to improve the chemistry, at the very least? But every time their is a tough decision to be made, "whitey" gets pushed out the door by Schiano -- hence Hillis, Cody Grimm, Scott and others getting sliced.

I seriously doubt Leonard gets anything more than garbage time/limited carries from his piece garbage coach. And forget about Martinek, my guess is they'd bring James Wilder Sr. (back from the 80's and probably in his mid 50's) or Warwick Dunn to start before Martinek would ever get a chance.

Yep. Just like Mike Tomlin is trying to make the Steelers coal black. During the last few drafts the Steelers have hardly drafted any white players and the few they did draft, offensive linemen, aren't even with the team any longer. Some of these black coaches are just so racist it's sickening and they know they can get away with it.

I seem to recall Martinek saying that after he was cut by the Giants in August of 2012 and wasn't put on the practice squad initially. He was training at a local gym with personal coach but he found the practices were mentally dragging him down and said he was close trying to join the New Jersey state police department. When he was put on the practice squad he deferred that dream. But with close to a year out of pro football I think he probably is trying that route as I have heard no stories about him playing in the low minor leagues or even semi-pro.
