2013 NFL Season Week 5

Tannehill in his head - "Screw Wallace, I'm going back to my man Hartline. He can catch."

Some of the dumbest playcalling I've ever seen in the Colts game. 3rd and 4 on about Seattle's 30 with over a minute in the game. They go for the TD strike, fail, kick a FG. Seattle gets the ball back with about a minute left and all their timeouts. The offensive coordinator for the Colts is a black moron and Chuck Pagano is a bigger moron for hiring him. Pagano is one of the more odious new coaches in the league. Purges Whites with an alacrity even on the sideline.

since it's half time for most of the early games ... here's a little video history for anyone (most football fans?) who isn't familiar with the names i mentioned earlier:

Roger "Rabbit" Robinson

Stan Zwinggi

Zwinggi speed test, the official numbers from the Texas State track coach.

please remember, neither of these speed freaks were deemed "explosive" enough to even make it to an NFL training camp.

Jacob Hester

i'm supposed to believe that Hester, who led LSU to a National Championship in his only season as a featured tailback in the SEC, isn't good enough to even be on an NFL roster, but Blount is an elite back? HAHAHAHA!!!

Peyton Hillis

unemployable? really? but the best athletes play! all coaches care about is getting the best players available! really! :tape:

"That's what you're looking for with Chris Johnson. You give him the ball and give him the ball and every once and a while he'll pop one." - Greg Gumbel

Just like any other RB in the league? Give them 30 carries a game and every single one of them will get a long gain eventually.

the Patriots running game is pathetic. the Bungles aren't even paying attention to it and are just teeing off on Brady.

i wonder if the Pats could use Woodhead or Hester or Hillis or (insert name here) right about now?

According to the announcers of the Bengals game, you don't want a guy like Hillis, what you want is the kind of guy like Lawfirm, who will go out there and get you that consistent 2-3 yards a carry and be an all around great guy any team would be happy to have.

Blount would triple his usefulness immediately if he would learn to put his electrifying 255 pound butt in front of the correct blitzer and learn to catch

Daryl Johnston commenting on yet another super afflete at receiver: "he's struggled with drops his entire career."

so, then, why does he have a career? Mike Hass, Trevor Insley, David Kircus, and on and on and on never got a shot, yet these black bums get entire careers in the NFL despite not being able to do the most basic requirement of the job.

seriously, how do people not see this stuff?!?!

Hester was an especially disappointing case. You're trying to tell me AT WORST he couldn't have carved out a Pierre Thomas/kNOSHOWn Moreno type of career? The league is a joke.

If the Patriots had signed Hillis or Hester they probably would have scored the TD.

Pretty sure this will be the first game in a long, long time that Brady hasn't thrown a TD.

Jordy Nelson currently has 5 catches and 82 yards. Remarkably, this would be his worst statistical game so far of the season. I believe he had 98 yards in his last game with two 100+ yard performances before that.

I wonder how long NE thinks they can get by with mediocre running backs. Peyton Hillis, Belichek....Hello?

Great posts about the incredible bias against white running backs. Those guys should be in the league. I really think that the NFL fears Danny Woodhead type running backs the most. Why do you ask? They fear them because they destroy the MYTH that whites can cut on a dime and blow by you with incredible speed. Every back we have had that is explosive seems to dissapear and they almost never even end up in the nfl. The few that do barely play or rot on the bench. Look at Rex Burkhead. Not one chance to run the ball all year long. Yet again another gifted running back that has to sit on the bench.

If the Patriots have any common sense at all, they will go and sign Peyton Hillis right away. No time to waste. They screwed up by letting Woodhead get away. They need to make up for it by going out and getting Hillis and he can help lead them into the playoffs. Tom Brady will continue to get lit up until they get a running back that puts some fear back into the defense. At the rate it's going, Brady will evenutally get hurt due to the constant hits and sacks he is taking game after game. The Pats along with many other teams need to upgrade their running game.

Durham's been getting chances, he just hasn't stepped up as much as i'd hoped today. still, 3 catches and 1 touchdown isn't awful.

********************

the Pats woeful so-called running game did them in today. not that the Bengals rushing "attack" was anything special, either.

take, for example, the "explosive" rookie Giovani Bernard. he had 1 carry for 28 yards, yet his other 12 carries netted a total of 34 yards (an anemic 2.8 yard average). but i'm supposed to believe he is "electric."

or take Cincy's other featured back Green-Ellis. he had 19 carries for 67 yards, with a long of 13 (a 3.5 yard average). not exactly game-breaking numbers. but if you take away his long carry, his average drops to just 3.0 yards-per.

in all, today in the New England-Cincinatti game, the two teams' black tailbacks carried the ball 49 times and only ran it farther than 13 yards once. some explosion. pfft.

but Hillis, Hester, Leonard, Woodhead (and myriad others) aren't good enough? get real.

Ah shoot I missed it. Up and down day for Chris, the TD makes it more up than down. Dare I say he's showing some of that elusive (for whites) and hard to define "upside"?

He's a huge target at 6-6. I have no idea why the Lions don't get him into situations where he's 1 on 1 with a cornerback like Calvin Johnson always seems to be. The defenses will respect Durham far less, so it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't run those plays for him.
