Review of the 2013 Miami Dolphins roster. Changes include ugly, marketing dept. approved logo and uniforms. Relatively pathetic and looks like smeared crest toothpaste on your bathroom sink.
Helmet logo change looks like a old world league franchise. The original logo was AFC iconic and the change obviously made for increased merchandise sales grab and more shekels for owner Stephen Ross and his B list celebrity minority owner. Owner Ross thought this would create a buzz for this perpetual mediocre team. Dolphins were a well run franchise with stability, class and clear vision under the Robbie family. Team really hasn't been the same since he died and the Robbie clan sold the team.
Franchise GM is Jeff Ireland, hardcore Castephile. Joe Philbin is head coach, relatively known as a good football mind and 'player's coach'.

Offense:
Lone bright spot is starting WR Brian Hartline. Becoming a fantasy football favorite, Hartline can make plays deep and burn CBs or make intermediate routes and go over the middle. Sure hands and very technical. He is QB Ryan Tannehill's go to guy and favorite target. Consistent and underrated by media, Hartline is a top 15-20 WR in the NFL.

All 3 QBs are White: Starter and now becoming assertive team leader Tannehill, capable athletic Matt Moore and Delaware product Pat Devlin. Ryan Tannehill has serious potential and he is entering his 2nd year. He will continue to get better as he learns the QB position and the offense is built around him. Tannehill's confidence is growing and for a QB, one will need tremendous confidence to reach full potential. Objectively speaking, Tannehill is best when he gets adequate time to read and throw.

OL: Not good. Only 2 White starters in head splitter Incognito and athletic T Ryan Clabo. The lone White back up is Will Yeatman, who likely will get playing time when someone gets hurt or a sumo ends up playing like Swiss cheese for too long.

No Tight ends on the active roster are White.
Recent improvement is newly signed White FB Tyler Clutts from Houston. Projected as a starter for now.

Defense: Awful, Not 1 White starter and only back up is Jason Trusnik. 2 Pacific Islander starters in battery charged LB Koa Misi and capable Somoan DT Paul Soliai. Soliai makes plays.

Austin Spitler was cut during the Great Purge of '13. He always seemed to be around the ball and was versatile and fearless. Can't imagine he will be unemployed for long and if a team needed adequate LB depth, Spitler would be a solid pick up.

LS John Denny, P Brandon Fields and PK rookie Caleb Sturgis.

Practice Squad players: All Big 10 tackling machine S Jordan Kovacs, 6'5 TE Kyle Miller, C/OL Sam Brenner

Team is in the weak AFC East with clownish NY Jets, and flat out bad Buffalo. So they may be in contention for wild card spot deep into November..yet will likely fail to make the playoffs. Perpetually average and I predict anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7 record.

Overall, Miami Dolphins are mostly Castophied with bright spot Hartline and ever improving athletic Ryan Tannehill as starting QB.

Total White Starters on Offense: 5
Defense: 0
ST: 3

Grade: D+

Great write up Borussia. I know a lot of fans don't like the new logo, but I honestly don't think its that bad and I like the fact that they went with the old lighter shade of aqua as opposed to those puke green Jimmy Johnson/Dave Wannstedt era unis.

You're also spot on about Stephen Ross and Jeff Ireland as well. Ross is a big time Zionist shill and has no clue of how to run a football team. He thinks opening up a nightclub in the stadium and selling shares of the team to washed up pop singers is something the fans want to see. Someone needs to wake this clueless idiot up.

Jeff Ireland is without a doubt the worst GM in the franchise's history and is pretty much the sole contributor to the darkening of the team. He is a huge negrophile and his drafting philosophy is based on measurables as opposed to performance, even if those measurables exceed performance by an extremely large margin (ie Dion Jordan). This is obviously not the team I grew up with. Ireland is just another name in the long list of horrible personnel choices that have been hired, whom the ownership refuses to get rid of, even after showing years of ineptitude.

The Dion Jordan pick alone should be enough to get him fired. With glaring holes at TE and LT, and a draft loaded with talent at those positions, Ireland traded up to draft a defensive end that they plan on using only on third downs. The Dolphins squandered a second round pick to trade up in the flattest draft anyone can remember.

When I first heard of this, I thought it was Ireland bringing in another one of his precious sumos just judging by the name Watkins (since I'm not familiar with him) but when I googled him I found it Watkins is white. At some point I would like to see him take over the right guard spot currently occupied by sumo, mega bust, John Jerry.

Ah I do remember the slow footed obese John Jerry.. Watkins beating him out would be a small win for us.

Yeah, it looks like they have an anchovy on the helmet.. but I agree with Robert Gremlin, the subdued aqua is little easier looking.

The old helmet-wearing dolphin was a great sports icon.. I assume all the uniform changes (& alternates) are solely to generate new merchandise sales (?)

Dolphins sign WR Ryan Spadola
Awesome, now let's hope he actually sees the field. The Dolphins still play the Jets twice. Wouldn't it be fantastic to see them stick it to Rex Ryan and John Idizk Jr. by using Spadola to defeat them. Sorta like how Belichick used Woody to spite them.

Edit to add: I also noticed but failed to mention until now that the Dolphins promoted Jordan Kovacs from the practice squad and he played in last week's game. I'm guessing it was only special teams though...

Edit to add II: Just read that the Jets were said to have tried to re-sign Spadola, but he chose to sign with Miami instead. Good for him.

Looks like Spadola was signed to the practice squad, not the regular roster. Hope he makes it up to the regular roster soon though.

Hopefully that cry baby Wallace gets injured soon. His complaining about not getting the ball enough has directly coincided with the Dolphins losing their last two games. Tannehill is being forced to throw the ball to that typical negro Wallace.

Some modest good news. Hopefully he can get on the active roster sometime soon and show what he can do.

Re the progress of Miami Dolphins this year: moving in the right direction with more Pale faces on offense and maybe Kovacs can play a bit more and not just be a ST demon. Would be great if they can sign more White Defensive players though.
I admit, the new (retro aqua) color scheme is kind of growing on me. Still not a fan of the helmet logo though.

Dolphins started out well, but the OL no showed last week vs Ravens.
Useless sumos and Clabo is not living up to his preseason form either. This unsatisfactory OL is gonna really hinder Tannehill and the rest of the offense.

Still need some work to make them more palatable. Such as give Kovacs more playing time, sign a starting White TE, bring in more White defensive players, play newly signed Spadola consistently, patch up the OL.

Are there not adequate players to take a look at from the Great late August Purge of 2013??

Ryan Spadola has been added to the active roster in place of the injured Brandon Gibson. It seems he'll mostly play special teams tonight but who knows, maybe he'll get the chance that grotesque Rex Ryan never gave him.

Hey! Almost an entire half of football, and they FINALLY looked Hartline's way! Once. One target in a half. One. For the team's leading receiver. One target. :frusty:

Yeah, I started him FF, so I'm extra irritated.

Weenieworld gets it right for a change. I'm surprised we don't have a Ryan Tannehill thread:

A source told CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora that Ryan Tannehill may lack job security entering 2014. Tannehill is the least of the Dolphins' problems and very arguably their biggest strength, so the notion of him losing his job is yet another reminder of the continued dysfunction in Miami. "He definitely wants to push Tannehill more," said the source, who spoke to coach Joe Philbin about his quarterbacks, "and if he doesn't see improvement he said he might go to (Matt) Moore at some point. He definitely has a lot of faith in Moore, and they're paying him a lot of money." This is a team that should be looking to prop up Tannehill with significant offensive line upgrades, not put his job on the line in favor of a journeyman-type career backup in Moore. Tannehill absorbed a league-high 58 sacks in 2013. This has been a troubling offseason in Miami, to say the least.

Losing incognito hurt Tannehill. Not just that but wasting a high draft pick on a overgrown mamas boy in Martin makes Miami look even more foolish.. Their sumo line and many others around the league were horrendous to watch this year.

What a freaking joke! Tannehill was the only reason this crappy offense was able to score at all. Former GM Jeff Ireland did him no favors by loading up the line with immobile sumos who resembled turnstiles throughout the entire season. If this team gives up on a talented QB like Tannehill and drafts some loser like Jameis Winston, I'll be finished with this team for good! I don't think that will happen though. I predict big things for Ryan Tannehill.

you should already be done with them besides rooting for Tannehill and Hartline. At least Tannehill is mobile, they replaced the Texans line with sumos and are like "why did Schaub become terrible", well that included with the fact Andre Johnson is aging and he tends to lock on, but the sumos didn't help.

Thanks for this rarest of gems Don. A reminder that a blind hog can find an acorn from time to time. The Tannehill to Hartline connection is fun to watch, with seemingly plenty of "upside".
