So I was thumbing through the stats and saw the nations leading rusher is a no-name from Rutgers, Paul James. I had to look him up.

Now he's certainly not White. He looks more like a Robert Smith or Ryan Matthews type. What I do find interesting about him is that he is a walk-on from a small township in NJ and won the starting job over hype-job, former 5 star recruit Savon Huggins. Huggins is a junior now and has been a flop. This is yet another example of scouts poorly evaluating talent. While James is not White, his story sounds very "white" so I'm glad he's succeeding while another hyped up afflete disappoints.

A few White rushing performances that went unmentioned that I'd like to call attention to.

Wyoming, who sits at 3-1 with the loss coming by 3 points at Nebraska, is lead by dual threat Brett Smith. In their blowout win over Air Force, Smith rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. His longest went for 74 yards in which he took a simple draw up the gut and after getting into the secondary out ran all the "speed position" players all the way down the sideline. He definitely has some wheels. Through the air, he merely had 373 yards and 4 touchdowns. This 3rd year starting junior hails from Oregon but I wonder why he's not playing for the Ducks? After all, he'd be a perfect fit for that offense except he's lacking one key feature.....Caste System strikes again.

The Cowboys also have White running back Brandon Miller who had 33 yards on only 6 carries. The senior has been severely underused his entire career.

UCLA is obnoxious team with the over-hyped Hundley at QB but they at least have sophomore RB Steven Manfro. He only touched the ball 5 times but managed 2 touchdowns (1 rushing and 1 receiving) on Saturday. His 53 yards receiving lead the team.

How is it that the top 3 rushing quarterbacks in the FBS are all White (Lynch, Hill and Gautsche) but yet only black guys are allowed to be "dual threat, running quarterbacks" in the NFL? Heck, Whites aren't allowed to play running back either but yet Lynch is out running all the "real athletes" by being 4th in the nation is rushing. 5 of the top 30 runners are White, which is astonishing considering how few White tailbacks play and how few White QBs are "allowed" to be dual threats (plus the influx of quotablacks in college football). By these sort of similar numbers each year, how come we don't even have 1 primary ball-carrier out of 32 NFL teams? I HATE the Caste System.

i have said many times that a creative offensive mind (such as Gus Malzahn, for example) should incorporate the multi-dimensional abilities of these White athletes and create an offense using a "total back" or two ... perhaps have a traditional drop back guy taking snaps (such as Aaron Murray), then feature your primary running back(s) who also have a good-enough ability to throw the ball to be a collegiate starter in a traditional offense (Taysom Hill or Jordan Lynch) but who have the body type to take the punishment from getting 20 or so carries a game. or have two dual-threat quarterbacks in the backfield at all times (ala Manziel and Cody Fajardo) with either being able to take the snap, run the ball, or pass it. it would bring a completely new dimension to the read option and would completely devastate opposing defenses, providing (of course) that you had good decision makers.

Lynch has had a pretty successful college career, and it won't be easy convincing him he can no longer play quarterback because you want to try him at running back. But that could be where he winds up. His situation reminds me a little of Dan Reeves, whom the Cowboys signed as a QB out of South Carolina in the 1960s. Lynch should definitely get 1st shot as a QB he's got a good enough arm, but my understanding was that Old man Gill was paying him a compliment by saying he had what it takes to play in the league already as a halfback. We'll see a lot of time as long as he stays injury and tears it up at the combine anything can happen. He's definitely a better prospect to Edelman based on his size and speed advantage.
