This is a dumb point. You could count the number of successful Favre type QBs on one hand before the last few years compared to QBs like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, etc etc etc. Now there are a lot of them coming out of the woodwork, mostly black. Yeah, the Brees and Bradys, and Eli Mannings are putting up monster statistics but now Cam Newton and Robert Griffin are also putting up those numbers because it's easier to play QB now whereas if they played a decade ago they would have probably been instant busts.

There might be a higher statistical ceiling now but it's a lot easier to reach for many QBs also.

And, of course, it's Thomas who Manning looks for in the red zone. I simply don't understand this- Decker and Manning looked great together in preseason, seemed to have such instant rapport with each other.

Even all the fantasy geeks acknowledged Decker was going to be the #1 going into this season. So far, it doesn't look that way. Manning certainly isn't playing well tonight.

There is absolutely nothing to like about the Falcons. Which means, of course, they're probably bound for glory in this corrupt league.

I am a huge Manning fan but get some satisfaction that Denver is losing this game - all due to the way Fox and Elway sent Tebow packing and treated him like he was some sort of cancer they wanted to be as far removed from as possible. The defense that according to most "experts" was the reason for their success last season has given up 21 pts in this game.

Also the Falcons #1 running back Turner has 13 carries for 20 yds with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter yet he receives no criticism at all and is unquestionably a top tier RB according to BSPN/Weenieworld and DWFs.

The score would be 20-21 right now if not for their f-ups.

Edit: Actually it'd be 17-21 because the Falcons also got a field goal out of a fumble that they didn't recover. If that fumble recovery wasn't botched then the Broncos would have at the very least had a field goal so 17-24.

I haven't watched even a snap as of yet & don't plan on it anytime soon.

The only positive from the MNF game was a pretty soid performance from Matt Ryan.

I didn't see the game as usual, but thought Decker wouldn't get much thrown his way. Next week, when they're not on national tv, Decker and the other White receivers will get the ball thrown their way again.

Just heard that the Patriots signed Kellen Winslow Jr. to "replace" Hernandez. Yeah, he was so impressive Seattle cut him. This probably means, of course, that Belicheck and co. will continue to screw over Welker. It also shows, once again, just how much Belicheck appears to love the most obnoxious, troublesome affletes.

This is really depressing. It was so nice to finally have at least one offense in this odious league that you could enjoy.

When are these replacement foolios leaving?!

Considering the replacement officials are supposed to be college officials that officiate mid major college football ie the MAC or Conference USA, how bad is officiating at this level? These guys look like volunteers that work Saturday morning pee wee games. :scared:

Dennis Pitta is tied for third in receptions in the AFC. Brian Hartline is tied for sixth along with Rob Gronkowski. Danny Amendola leads the NFC (and AFC) with 20 receptions. Brent Celek is tenth.

There are no blacks among the top ten rated QBs in the AFC, and just two in the NFC (Griffin and Newton).

Most of our White stars on defense continue to do their thing. Hopefully Jordy Nelson, Eric Decker and Wes Welker will turn it on in coming weeks. All in all this season is pretty similar to last year so far in spite of the disappointments of Week 1. The biggest negative has been with Gerhart, Woodhead and Hillis. Of the three, Hillis still has a chance to have a good season; the other two will need injuries to get much playing time.

Hillis is way off pace on the quest for 1,000 yards because he only has 18 carries up to this point. His ypc carry is solid though at 4.6. Charles seems to be struggling so maybe they will increase his workload. He should be getting the bulk of the carries because he is 250lbs and can carry the workload and Charles is only 199. The affirmative action hire will do everything in his power to make sure Hillis doesn't get 1,000 yards.

Hillis only has to average 66 yards per game to reach 1,000, which is the amount of yards he got last week. Charles has 22 carries to the 18 Hillis has. I think with the knee soreness the coach will limit Charles a little more, if not then Charles will wind up on that bike more and Hillis will receive the bulk of the carries. The current run ratio isn't good, they are getting behind very quickly, if they were smart they would let Hillis grind out tough yards, play a ball control offense so they aren't 21-0 within 10 minutes. So far the only drives where they haven't gone 3 and out have mostly been with Hillis, they should realize that when going over the film. Charles just gets manhandled when trying to pass block and Droughn has just completely missed blocks at times, these kill drives as well as gaining 1 to 2 yards, or in the case of last week negative yards. His only production has come from the 46 yard run where he was caught from behind and this was in the first week when supposedly his knee was fine, it was the best blocking the line has done but that was one play, the rest of the blocking has been very below average . So right now he doesn't have an elite skillset, he can't hit the homerun and he can't grind out tough yards so Hillis should be in there. The blocking does need to get better. How exactly do you upgrade by adding a good RT, and get worse blocking than when you had Jackie Battle Dexter McCluster and Thomas Jones? Romeo Crennel doesn't know how to coach and it is showing.
