Great leaderboard with the ageless Fred Couples tied for the lead after the second round at -5. Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson are all just one stroke back. Phil Mickelson overcame terrible driving in the first round to post a 68 today and is -2. Lots of other players are right in the mix.

Tiger Woods birdied 1 and 3 today to get to 2 under, but is 5 over on his round since then. I haven't watched all of the coverage, but have seen enough to hear Woods swearing after one bad swing, and kicking his club at 16 after a bad tee shot at that legendary par 3. Not a single fan booed or made a sound after Woods kicked his club, and of course the announcers always treat him so gingerly. Verne Lundquist managed to moan, "And we all thought he was back two weeks ago when he won at Bay Hill." Yes, they did, and they always will. The media are Tiger true believers until death do they part.

ESPN's website of course has a huge picture of Woods on the homepage, asking "can he figure it out." Who cares that Couples, an extremely popular former champ, made a charge into the lead at the age of 52, or that McIlroy is challenging for the lead, or that Garcia or Westwood might finally win that elusive first major, or that Mickelson might tie Woods by winning his fourth green jacket?

Good and funny post, Don. Personally, I'd like to see Phil Mickelson win it.

Yes, Don good post. I witnessed many of Tigger's immature antics today. Also, as he was leaving 16, a young girl reached out to him and of course Tigger totally ignored her, while Jimenez acknowledged fans as he was leaving 16!

I wouldn't mind seeing Phil or Fred Couples win, but I am hoping McIlroy can win if they can't. I would like nothing more than for Rory to win about 18 majors, while kicking Tigger's butt over the next 15-20 years!

I want to see the media response and opinion when McIlroy passes Tigger.

I had sportscenter on in the background earlier and I had to turn it off after 2 "breaking news updates" for the holes Tiger completed

I want to see the media response and opinion when McIlroy passes Tigger.

Jemele Hill will probably have a column or maybe even an espn special on white privelege or some nonsense like that

Tiger Woods starts the day off tied for 39th at the Masters......so whose picture is on the front of the Atlanta Journal Constitution's website.....you guessed it. Complete with a breathtaking report that Woods had birdied two of the early wholes today....LMAO...

I enjoyed watching Tiger implode yesterday. The only question now is whether he'll quit before finishing 4 rounds.

Woods shot 72 today, and is tied for 40th. It's gonna be a great, mostly Tiger-free tournament to watch today and tomorrow.

Absolutely, positively enjoying the Tiger-free coverage right now and looking forward to what should be a great Sunday.

Great news about Phil's surge and Eldrick's faltering, gents! I've been away from the "Electric Rabbi" today, doing a bunch of yard work, including chopping down a decent sized oak tree with my camping axe. Twas a good workout!

As I was following the 3rd round today, it got me thinking that it's somewhat of a surreal experience when you watch the Masters. It starts with the fans, essentially a sea of white, all on their best behavior, polite and good manners, and cheering for the golfers as needed, at the right times. The players are all playing a gentleman's game, also behaving with class and dignity (well, minus that one punk who was cussing, spitting, and kicking his clubs), gracious in victory or defeat. It's a completely TNB-free environment, no hoddies, no sagging pants, no trash/garbage on the grounds, no "youff" misbehaving, etc, all in a majestic setting.

It's like for a period of 4 days, you are transported to this alternate world, a reminder of how good things once were in this country, and forget about the mess and all the problems we're facing now. If I could build a time-machine, I'd go back to the '40s and '50s, and live out the rest of my life there over and over.

Yes, the Masters has somehow escaped the cultural decay that permeates this country. Augusta National Golf Club has always been a target of the Marxists who look to ruin anything White, male and "elitist." They have not bowed to the pressures of "diversity" and commercialism. And, as such, they have created the ultimate golf course and tournament complete with tradition, beauty and dignity. It would only be fitting for a class act like Phil Mickelson to win and earn his 4th green jacket.

I just turned it on, and of course the first shot I saw was of Woods. But his shot went into the creek on 13. Sweet. He's been humbled yet again, but not nearly as much as the media nut huggers, not that any of them are capable of feeling shame.

I admire the heck out of the folks at Augusta for not bowing to the Cultural Marxist totalitarians and admitting women. It's one of the very few times the totalitarians zoomed in on a target and the target didn't capitulate. Everything about The Masters is great, including CBS's coverage of it (which in large part is mandated contractually by The Masters), especially the narrative of the peerless Jim Nantz.

What a shot by Louis Oosthuizen on the Par 5 2!! He shot the first double eagle in Master's history on the 2nd hole to take the lead at -10!

Double eagle for Oosthuizen and a triple bogey for Phil. Aaargh. Phil still has a lot of holes to get the strokes back. Oosthuizen looks very much in a groove, much like when he won the British Open two years ago.

Don't they have a few token black members though?

Another fantastic Masters, congrats to Bubba Watson.
The shot from deep in the trees on the 2nd playoff hole sure was something. One of the best shots I've ever seen especially when you factor in the level of pressure.

Bubba Watson might be my favorite golfer at the moment. He's the biggest hitter on the tour, is self taught since his father showed him the basics as a kid and has never had a swing coach. His personal life is compelling too. His father recently passed away from cancer. However, Bubba and his wife, a former basketball player who can't have children, adopted their first child (White) a few weeks ago. What is not to like about the guy?

I don't watch a lot of golf, but I always try to catch the last round of a major, especially the Masters. A guy named Bubba now wears a green jacket. How cool is that? He seems to be anything but a corporate clone. And I'm glad the baby he adopted is white. That's the way it should be.
