I'd actually recommend the Texas-Oregon State game on right now. Ash is playing like a crazy athlete and Shipley is leading all receivers with 8 receptions for 88 yards. Freshman Dalton Santos is making big tackles for Texas in limited time. TE Connor Hamlett is leading Oregon State in receptions and yards, but Vaz is struggling big time.

Hawkeye - it looks like Landry Jones is going to be this year's Ryan Mallet. I am not sure he will get a Senior Bowl invite and most DWFs, media and "professional draft experts" are doing their best to bash him. He has a target on his back. I hope I am wrong because he has all the tools to be a great QB.

I wish Mannion was playing. He is getting screwed over like Alex Smith did. Vaz is an ok QB but Mannion has real pro potential.

Vaz has been sacked something like 10 times. Their offensive line is trash and Vaz isn't helping. The coaching staff killed his confidence by keeping him in there. I agree that Mannion should've been playing.

Not that I think this draft class is great, but I wasn't impressed with Smith at all. His numbers have been greatly embellished due to a combination of a weak opposition and a good recieving core.
I currently have Smith ranked 8th on my board.
1. Matt Barkley USC
2. Landry Jones Oklahoma
3. Colin Klein Kansas State
4. Tyler Bray Tennessee
5. Ryan Nassib Syracuse
6. Taj Boyd Clemson
7. Mike Glennon N.C. State
8. Geno Smith West Virginia
9. Aaron Murray Georgia
10 Tyler Wilson Arkansas

in my opinion, you have Tyler Wilson rated FAR too low. i think any team that passes him over will regret it. he has everything a player needs to be a top tier quarterback. just wait and see.

Renfree from Duke impresses me. Unfortunately he got hurt at the end of their game yesterday and will be out for 6 months..

Tyler Wilson is going to be a good one IMO. Both him and Glennon are my fav QBs in this upcoming draft.

Wilson seems to have a little bit of Favre in him (in terms of playing style)

IMHO, I'd put Klein at #2 and Wilson at #9.

As for Aaron Murray, he really needs another year at UGA. His stats (below) are solid, but his size (6'1, 210) will hamper his draft position. I'd like to see him another year passing to Bennett.

I hate how their is such a premium on height for the QB position. Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Namath, Joe Montana,Steve Young all were 6'2! Johhny Unitas stood at 6'1!

Good QB needs:
1. Functional Arm Strength
2. Accuracy
3.Intelligence
4.Leadership
5. Mobility

Agreed 100%. Don't forget about Sammy Baugh, Sid Luckman, Otto Graham, Jim Kelly, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Bob Griese and Len Dawson...all HOF QBs and all 6'2 and under.

I was just referring to how the "draft experts" would rank/rate Murray due his (so called) "lack of height". :icon_rolleyes:

Regarding Murray - I think he is more than capable of being a very good pro QB. The "experts" will knock him because of his height which will probably hurt his stock. He won't benefit from it like the midget Russell Wilson has. It will be a definite negative for Murray.

Yeah Murray won't get the benefit of the doubt like Geno Smith has. After his poor performance ESPN was lost with what to do. Shortly after Todd McGay got on TV and reassured the world Geno would still be one of the top 2 QBS picked in this draft!

Yeah Dixie that's a pretty darn good list of Quarterbacks!

I notice that Vandy has 7 or 8 white players in on offense most of the time. Somehow, they are running through the rather dark N.C. State defense. How is that possible? They shouldn't have enough athleticism to even stay on the field. Vandy's black players must just be that much better than N.C. State's. Yeah, that must be it.............. Seriously, how do the DWFs do it?

Hopefully they can turn into the sec version of northwestern the coach said he believed in loyalty and is staying at Vandy. Northwestern has had the same coach for a while, consistently White and usually competitive with high academic standards

speaking of Northwestern yesterday, they are up 13-0 on Miss St. Last night LSU lost to Clemson, I know Clemson isn't White friendly but the average dwf isn't keeping up with that, to them sec= blackest conference and they brag about their bowl wins. LSU was close to playing for the championship. Lets hope Nebraska can pull out a win today on Georgia who was also close to going to the championship, about 3 seconds away actually. Lsu had a chance to win but they decided to throw it instead of running the clock out.

Even though I don't like Denard I hope Michigan wins this game as well, the success of Penn st was said to be because of how weak the big 10 was

Who is 27 for Georgia, looks White and they had him double covered on a deep pass which means they respect his speed, and here it starts, bs penalties against Nebraska

Edit, he is White, Rhett Mcgowen. Sec has White guys that could be stars for other teams buried on the bench, Nebraska could use him, speaking of which, Nebraska's first drive, Rex didn't see the feild, 3 and out and the punt is blocked for a safety, the White te for Georgia made a nice td catch to put Nebraska down 9-0

Miss St closed the gap, now 13-10.

Rex Burkhead with two big plays, one run and one shovel pass, but they are mixing carries with Abdullah, seriously? this is Burkhead's last game and he can run better on a tough defense. 2 rushes for 24 yards and one reception for 16, Martinez with a first down and a td pass!

Will Compton with a pick 6, great for Nebraska! but not good for Murray's draft status, thats his 2nd pick today.

I am hoping Burkhead has a big game vs UGAy

Clemson and Pudge Boyd beating LSU will only boost the midget's stock in the eyes of DWFs and "Draft experts".

good, then more dwfs will wake up and realize that not every black quarterback is going to bring wins. Smith has no pocket presence, not mobile and doesn't have a good arm throwing deep. Boyd hasn't impressed me either. Griffin, Wilson and Kaepernick were actually better in college, although Wilson was surrounded by talent and Kaepernick played weak competition. Boyd supposedly is surrounded by talent and plays weak competition. Not every team is going to have a strong running game to make things easy on the new wave of black quarterbacks, and its only so long before people figure out the little dinks and dunks that Griffin throws. The whole point of having a strong running game is to throw deep down field.

besides, he was going to go early no matter what. Smith had a terrible game and it didn't affect anything. "oh he just can't play in the cold", well good luck if he has to play in the playoffs anywhere cold, and eliminates a bunch of northen teams that he could play on. No qb is going to suceed right now on the Chiefs so it would be nice to see him go there.

Boyd is currently rated the 7th quarterback right now and the last game he played was less than 200 yards passing 45 percent completion ratio. Funny how is 6'1 height isn't an issue.

Now for Georgia we see a real quarterback, he is throwing it deep very nicely, but hoping Nebraska can come back, it seems like Martinez is always a little off with time off. Connor Shaw looks like a legit qb prospect but comes out in 2014, and I doubt will declare early like Boyd is thinking of doing.

win or lose Burkhead is showing to be an elite prospect, looks faster than in previous years, able to get to the edge and get a big run against "sec speed", 56 yards on 6 carries.
Georgia is said to have 8 notable draft prospects on defense.

Edit Burkhead now with 69 yards rushing and a 16 yard reception for a td to give them the lead, Martinez had a nice deep throw before that as well

Burkhead has 39 yards receiving which gives him over 100 yards from scrimmage in the first half

Rex is having a great day so far. With around 4 minutes left in the first half, he has ran 10 times for 67 yards and has 3 receptions for 27 yards and a td! I was pissed earlier in the game as Rex had a 20 yard rush and he was tackled by two guys way out of bounds. It looked to me like it was intentional and Georgia was flagged for it. The Bulldogs are playing a little dirty in my opinion as they have had alot of penalties called and many more missed. Regardless, Nebraska has a 24-23 lead right now with TRex leading the way!

That TD catch Rex just snagged was not at all an easy catch to make. Real nice grab! I love a RB who is also a threat to catch a pass.

yes, this should boost his stock, since we constantly hear about the NFL being a passing league, Burkhead can do it all, yet the NFL seems content with slower guys like Lawfirm and Shonn Greene, even Stevan Ridley who offer nothing in the passing game.

White guys making quite a few plays for Georgia today as well, they talked about his low completion rate but he has taken quite a few deep shots today

that give shim 85 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, 1 rushing and one receiving.

announcers making excuses for Georgia saying they lack depth on the defensive line, but they have the "top recruits in the nation", they should have plenty of guys that could step up. I know they have more depth than Nebraska.

Northwestern defeats Miss St 34-20!

man it would be nice to see Martinez and Burkhead get a shot together next year for the national championship, too bad there is no way he can get an extra year since he missed so many games, because its nice seeing the guy run, it will be an uphill battle to get playing time after today.

damn does Nebraska have anyone that can cover? I wish Murray would have been hitting Durham in stride when he was younger, looks to be much improved, thats like his 4th deep bomb today.

man this game has been close, now its tied, with a 2 point conversion by Rhett McGowen, where was this guy the rest of the season?

28 rush for Burkhead giving him 123 yards for the day rushing, with 39 receiving

and then Rex lines up under center pitches to Abdullah and he lost it, hopefully his knee hit the ground

his knee looked like it hit the ground before the ball came out on one angle but they keep showing angles where you can't see.

Yeah they showed the angle again and it looked like his knee hit the ground, either way going away from Burkhead killed momentum

edit: now 134 yards rushing for Burkhead on 20 carries but the refs doing their part to let Georgia's defense rest, one was a problem of where the ball was spotted

Burkhead with another 10 yard rush. Then on 3rd and 4 and they go away from him. I know that is usually a passing down but in this game they should have just gave the ball back to Rex. He has had so many big plays and he would have had a good chance of picking up the first down. Instead they have to punt it back to Georgia in a game that is tied at 31 each. I sure hope the Nebraska Defense can hold them.

As I've said many times before. Give the ball to Rex and just get out of his way. He is an absolute stud but the play calling is hurting Nebraska a little. Come on Huskers. Win this game. It would be a shame to see Rex have a huge day but end up losing in his last game as a Cornhusker.

Nebraska still can't cover, that must be Murray's 10th throw and completion over 20 yards. Hes made some mistakes early on but to say hes not a top prospect after this game is absurd.

Of course I want Nebraska to win, but it would be sweet just for Burkhead to get 34 more rushing yards, which would give him 700 yards for the season, which is amazing with the amount of playing time he has missed. 46 yards would give him 800 yards from scrimmage 7 tds
