smu playing tulane right now, no stats listed on espn so Don't know how Line is doing, have only been glancing. I should have went to the game , Weisman isn't getting good blocking today from what I have seen.

Zach has 12 carries for 69 yards at halftime.
I use FoxSports for live stats. They don't go "blank" like ESPN does for some games.

Iowa's playcalling has been wretched in the second half. Way too many short and wide passes on 3rd and 10.

Weisman goes over 100 yards on the day!

Weisman 5 yard TD at 1 min left in the 4th quarter to tie the game after putting up a nice 37 yard run

He was getting bottled up early. But like a true workhorse/bell cow type back he was fed the ball and eventually busted one. He did limp off the field after the td though.

Gameday did a cool feature earlier with Ben Gardner, Chase Thomas, Trent Murphy, and Shane Skov from Stanford. I always assumed Skov had some black in him, but he looked, and more interestingly, sounded very white. Anyone know his background? If I had to guess, I'd say some Pac Islander rather than black.

I find myself watching college football for the 2nd or 3rd week, what are the games to watch, preferably featuring white orientated offenses

SMU embarrassingly loses to Tulane. SMU's defense stinks.

Zach Line had an excellent 177 yards on 28 carries, 6.3 ypc.

Skov has a White father and a black mother. he is a heck of a player, though.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but the Big 12 has clearly ordered its officials to NOT call holding this season.

Thus, we end up with - Geno Smith: Heisman Frontrunner

it was an impressive performance by Iowa's very-White defense and coverage teams today, as the Hawkeyes defeat Michigan State in overtime.

sadly, Iowa's passing offense is truly offensive. the receivers are small, and they make up for it by being slow and unable to catch. they are terrible. Iowa's quarterback may be even worse, judged on today's performance at any rate. the only thing that Iowa is good at is running behind the left side of the offensive line with Weisman. of course, the very strong defense of the Spartans knew this, and they were able to bottle up the running game for much of the contest.

fortunately for Iowa fans, Ferentz didn't give up on the run, and Weisman's strong running paid dividends down the stretch. apparently Weisman's injury on the game-tying touchdown run in the final minute of regulation was more serious than it looked, as he didn't step on the field in either overtime session.

again, the Hawkeye defense deserves a ton of credit. they did a terrific job against the power running attack of Michigan State.

*********************************

in other Iowa-related news, how does Iowa State see wide receiver/return man Josh Lenz account for 4 total touchdowns and over 100 yards receiving on just 5 catches last week and not have a single catch this week? no wonder they lost ...

So far with only about a minute 'til halftime, Texas Tech has bottled up Geno Smiff and held West Virginia to only 7points. 28-7 TT.

Looks like the Geno Smiff Heisman Hype express is getting derailed by Texas Tech and its white players.....35-7 at the half

If Notre Dame losses it will be because of the ineffective, undersized black quarterback.

Put in Rees and preserve your undefeated season!

Right on cue the ND black quarterback fumbles.

But he still has lots o' upside and a room brightening smile so expect the winner in for the next set o' downs.

i caught some of the College Gameday production this morning, and i simply had to scratch my head when Notre Dame's head coach Kelly came on and started talking about the Irish' chances today. what really caught my attention was when they mentioned the excellent "relief pitching" of Rees off the bench, commenting about his ability to come in and make plays throwing the football. they mentioned how he's dug Notre Dame out of some holes, earning wins despite coming in cold in the fourth quarter AND being behind, despite the opponent knowing he had to throw the ball.

i was expecting them to say something to the effect of Rees will see expanded opportunities or more playing time or what have you ... but they said nothing of the sort.

what they actually said (and no one had a problem with it!) was that despite Rees' efforts, Kelly and his staff "really want Gholson to be the guy who has success." :mad2:

no kidding. i mean, what happened to coaches only wanting to play the best player? what happened to the platitude that talent is all that matters?

this morning's Gameday revealed (if there was still any lingering doubt in anyone's mind) that notions like that are simply not true.
