I think this will be an interesting tournament. So far, all 3 Chinese women have been ousted. Venus has withdrawed from the tourny, supposedly due to being diagnosed with some kind of Syndrome.

On the men's side, Monfils was DEFEATED by Ferrer! It was a good match.

One of the usual suspects (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray) should win on the men's side. I'm not looking forward to the women's draw because that she-male Serena is back and the rest of the women are playing as inconsistent and erratic as ever. She and her sister cannot go away soon enough.

The 22-year-old Young won 7-5, 6-4, 6-3. A full house at the Grandstand gave him a standing ovation as he celebrated the victory, pumping his fist and grinning widely.

You could hear the frustration on Jim Courier's voice about Donald Young's dispute with the USTA. Apparently he and his family have some kind of attitude problem and have refused to co-operate with the USTA despite the latter helping him a lot during his career. I'm shocked!

Today Serena plays Ana Ivanovic. I'm afraid Serena has to be the favourite. I'm surprised Mary Carillo still has her job after she again said Serena acts like she never does anything wrong. Carillo was the most outspoken commentator to criticize Serena after the latter threatened a lineswoman two years ago. She seems to be the only one willing to call out Serena.

Speaking of commentators I could have done without Martina Navratilova injecting her feminist views into her "analysis" during the Zvonereva match on Tennis Channel.

Wins for Federer and Murray makes it another 100% white affair on the men's side.

Serena is no doubt the favorite to win the women's title. It will take as usual, another miracle (more like self implosion) for any of the remaining seeded women (in particular Wozniacki and Zvonareva) to send her home. Age has caught up with Venus, but in the case of Serena, she'll likely remain a Grand Slam threat for at least another 2 years.

Djokovic continues his potential record breaking season (61-2 so far). McEnroe owns the current record of 82-3 set in 1984.

Andy Murray "should" be able to defeat Donald Young. As for Tsonga -vs- Fed, the "Frenchman" has been giving Fed fits lately. I'm looking forward to seeing Djoko go against Tipsarevic.

It's now 100% White for the men's side, let the good times roll once again.

It would be a great way to cap the Grand Slam season if big butt Serena gets eliminated again, but I don't see any of the remaining white girls pulling it off. They're all too nervous playing her.

F&^%cking DWFs in NY, cheering for Tsonga all the way, while their reaction to Federer can be described as lukewarm at best. These decracinated fools are beyond redemption in my opinion. It's a good thing vintage Federer was out there tonight and defeated Tsonga in straight sets.

Looks like we'll be in for a treat on the men's side, as the big 4 are once again ready to face each other in the semis. I'm smelling another Djokovic-Nadal final, a rematch of Wimbledon from two months ago. If we instead get a Federer-Nadal final, then I'll be rooting for Federer all the way because I'm tired of Nadal beating him all the time. That rivarly has become completely one-sided and Roger is clearly the underdog, and I always root for the underdog in that scenario.

As for the women, I could not care less because the she-male Serena has all but won the tournament. The only 2 women who were never afraid of the Williams sisters and consistently beat them were the two Belgians, Henin and Clijsters, and unfortunately, both are done. I wish someone, anyone, could garner the mental fortitude to stand up againt Serena and send her packing for good. Venus is already finished, so we're halfway there.

If Caroline Wozniaki is to have any success against Williams, she has to return the ball deep, deep, deep on her ground strokes. Ideally, a foot to a foot and a half inside the baseline should be her target.

Finally a young American has come on the scene that looks to have all the attributes of a top player. Jack Sock has a bunch of talent. If he can learn how to handle the ebb and flow of a match and adjust accordingly, Rodd*ck totally took advantage of his inexperience in their match in an early round, he should be successful and dating beautiful ladies before long. It’s a fringe benefit of being a professional tennis player.

Federer was a machine in taking a 2 sets to nothing lead. However, Djoko just took the 3rd set over a lethargic Federer. Federer will still win today in my view.

Federer should have won, since he was leading 5-3 in the fifth set.. I knew that Fed had gas left in his tank for the 5th set.

Really, though, this was unreal tennis. BIG-TIME tennis that certainly met "my standards".. Perhaps the best tennis that I've ever seen! When the match concluded, tears formed in my eyes! Both men were doing some amazing things on the court.

It was disappointing to see Federer lose like this, and it's happening more and more often now. Matches that used to be in the bag for him are now going the other way.

In a way I'm glad. Unfortunately, Federer has become Nadal's b*tch, and I could not have stomached another beatdown on Monday. This way, Novak has a legit chance to continue his magical season and win a 3rd major this year. He has owned Nadal in 2011, beating him 5 times, most recently in the Wimbledon final. I will be rooting for Novak come Monday, but then again, when it's 2 Whites playing, the number 1 and 2 players in the world for that matter, there will be no losers.

The SF between Federer and Djokovic was like a repeat of last year's SF. I'm a bit disappointed in Federer's response. He said Djokovic was lucky on that incredible match point winner and then said "To lose against someone like that, it's very disappointing, because you feel like he was mentally out of it already. Just gets the lucky shot at the end, and off you go." If you read the article linked below you'll see he gave Novak no credit. He actually sounds like Serena Williams.

Another Serena chimp-out. The disgusting New York crowd cheers for her. Poor Samantha Stosur who was dominating until this point. I can't imagine how she feels. I just went to some tennis boards to see what was being discussed and there is utter disgust for Serena and the American crowd. On this the 10th anniversary of 9/11 DWF Americans are showing why America is the most hated "nation" on earth.

I didn't see the chimp out, as I'm trying to watch during the commercial breaks on NFL games, but Stosur is playing lights out so far, ahead 6-2 4-3. She is probably the only female player who can come close to matching Williams' brutish power.
