Anytime that POS Serena Williams loses it just puts a smile on my face. IMO, she's the most overhyped female athlete there is right now.

An incredible result to brighten this day which has been otherwise ho-hum in the NFL! Let's hope that this will somehow officially start the beginning of the end for the Williams sisters, and they fade away from the sport. (the sooner, the better)
I didn't watch the first set either because I couldn't bear to watch Serena win but I turned it on at the very end of the set and decided to stick with it when I saw Stosur was winning. Serena bitched about how it was the same Greek umpire who supposedly robbed her two years ago after her notorious threat to shove a ball down the throat of a lineswoman. I guess she doesn't feel any regret about that. Then during the break before the changeover Serena pretty much issued a threat of violence against the Greek umpire. She's trash, and so are the New Yorkers who cheered her on from that moment. (The same New Yorkers seem to hate Djokovic!)

Just as I was pasting comments from the non-political Mens Tennis Forums many of the most anti-Serena comments were removed. Indeed it looks to me like an entire page and the more visceral remarks were removed. I guess Serena is a touchy subject.

First Grand Slam by an Aussie in 9 years.
I'm kinda with foobar on the Djoko-Nadal finals match. A win for Djoko signals another changing of the guard. Looks like Federer can only win another Slam if both Nadal and Djoko get eliminated early, he's just about reached his limit now. Nadal's just a year older than Djoko, and so long as his knees hold up he'll remain a tennis force for another 4-5 years. As for Djoko, he's about mastered both rivals, and as long as he remains in top condition and injury free, he's
the man to beat.

Quiet, it took me a little work to get it right. First I had to use the larger original file size, not the smaller one I used on the old board. I think I pasted the url of the file in the "Edit Avatar" function under "Settings." It was either that or I finally was able to get the larger original sized avatar posted on photobucket and then pasted that url into the edit avatar function. One of those should work, if the file itself isn't too big. Just saving an animated file and uploading it won't work. You'll just get a still image of the animation. I hope this helps.

What a great tennis match. Let's just say that it made my weekend after watching most of my football teams that I like lose. Serena needs to retire. I'm so sick of her mouth and attitude.

Another amusing story in regards what amounts to Serena's normal behavior:

I was watching the Williams/Stosur match when this incident happened. Williams hit a forehand and yelled right before it got to Stosur. The umpire awarded the point to Stosur, the tournament referee confirmed the ruling, and Mary Carillo expressed that Serena's yell was unsportsmanlike and bad form. Then the TNB began. Serena accused the umpire of being the same woman who "screwed her" two years ago when she was called for a foot-fault against Clijsters. (It was later confirmed that it was not the same umpire - but all Whites look the same, and all Whites are out to get Serena.) Serena kept talking **** to the umpire during the changeover, at the same time telling her "don't look at me", "your'e ugly, on the inside". Of course, when the match was over, Serena refused to shake the umpire's hand. It was a disgusting display of Negro perceived victimization, and of course the US Open crowd loudly supported Serena.
At least Serena admitted that the call had no bearing on the ultimate result of the match. However, she could not bring herself to admit any wrongdoing in berating an umpire who was merely doing her job. She told the umpire "you're an ugly person, on the inside"... but only proved that she herself is hideous, inside and out.

I note that the umpire this time was from Greece and the 2009 umpire was from Sweden. We also see lots of European umpires from France, Spain, etc. Why no American umpires? The fair thing would have been to give Serena the point and warn the players about verbal outbursts. Instead, Serena was penalized THREE times...lo*sing the point she had one; giving the point to the opponent instead of playing a let; and then a "code violation.*" None of this is fair. If we recall, it was Serena's match against Capriati in 2004 that led to "instant replay"...*because the "human" referees are so biased.”
