From 06 on white starters have been 9,9,8,10 and 7.

Here's an update for the Red Raiders. Terry McDaniel starts at Center and Lonnie Edwards starts at LG as the only two white starters on Tech's line. Austin Zouzalik and Alex Torres both start at WR. Omar Ontiveros starts at a H-Back position when Tech uses one. True Frosh Blake Dees starts at the SLB spot! The rest of the starters still start. Tech will have nine starters this year. Also, neither Fehoko or Richards will start at LE, although Richards is the backup.

In other news, I had a suspicion that Scott Smith was some kind of mix (from his Rivals picture and how he just shot up the JC Rankings). I've been vindicated. He played his HS football at St. Louis Academy on Oahu, and, as this picture shows, he's a light-skinned Hawaiian mix:

--Quite distinct indigenous features; Would have fit in well on the original Hawaii-Five O, maybe as the muscle for a criminal enterprise..--

Oh no, absolutely not," Smith said when asked if he contemplated a transfer. "I actually was having a hard time in school and I buckled down hard just to be sure I'd be eligible. There was no way I was going to walk away from here. No. Heck no.

"I've still got a degree to pursue and hopefully I've still got seven games left to see what I can do."

Aside from the degree, Smith finally has the opportunity to show what he can do against the best teams in the Big 12 Conference. If Smith plays with his head instead of his heart, it starts with No. 17 Kansas State.

He definitely has the intangibles to be an effective defensive end in the professional football ranks. Hopefully seven more games to get himself to that level.

"I think the best is yet to come still," Smith said. "Like I said, when you're suspended like that, I had to get the cobwebs out. The game, I was very, very anxious and I pumped the game so much that I screwed myself out of it.

"Now that I've got this one game under my belt, I think everything is going to fall into the place. I'm looking forward to K-State coming."

I'm just bringing the facts to the table.

Nice detective work, Deadlift, but I'm not sure what the point is. For all intents and purposes, he's as white as I am. If he makes it to the Pittsburgh Steelers, he's not going to be compared to Troy Polamalu or James Harrison, he would most likely line up behind Chris Hoke and wait for his racial apprenticeship to end. Now, maybe if he changes his last name to Inoye or something like that, he can take advantage of whatever percentage of native Hawaiian blood he has, but to any DWF he's a honky cracker with a honky cracker name, Scott Smith, and he gets by on hard work.

Folks can do with the info what they so choose. At the very least, people know he's back now from his rather long suspension. When I saw the projected starters on this thread, which was started in May, and didn't see a mention of Smith.. I thought he was gone from TT. I'm sure other posters thought that as well.
