Deadlift
Hall of Famer
Tampa has a 2 game lead over Washington. Washington will need to step up in Game 3..

It's good to see a Canadian team as the top seed advancing and a threat to win the cup. I think the last Canadian team to win the cup goes all the way back to Montreal in 1993?

<div>Yes, that's a long time. Would be nice to see Vancouver win it. I think Canada should have at least two more teams in the league, one in Quebec, with Winnipeg and Hamilton also worthy. Canadian cities seem to lack the corporate sponsorship and largess that U.S. cities come up with to build arenas and keep teams.</div>

<div>Don't forget the Sharks' other non-White: the Asian Devin Setoguchi. I'm definitely hoping that the Wings shall go through to the conference final. Too bad that Detroit is a failed city seething with blacks...</div>

<div>Looks like Winnipeg is going to be back in the NHL next season, at the expense of Atlanta. It's good to see Canada get another team, but it's always sad when a city loses a team.</div>

Everything is perfect for a borderline market like Winnipeg. Once the dollar goes significantly below par this team could be hanging on thread again. Winnipeg is a very small city for a major league and the city is also largely working class. The club needs a strong walk up and strong season ticket base among Joe 6 pack types to survive.ToughJ.Riggins said:Don Wassall said:<div></div>Don Wassall said:<div></div>ToughJ.Riggins said:The Vancouver/ Chicago series was something else. Good news! I was reading about this on Yahooligans a couple days back, but I thought there wasn't the money to move the team due to Winnipeg refusing to upgrade an arena with taxpayer money. The Canadian dollar is stronger than the American one right now- if I'm not mistaken. The Canadian economy may be able to support an NHL team, even in one of Canada's smaller major cities like Winnipeg.
I agree it beats the NBA. Plus who needs to see Lebron flop his way to the finals...Don Wassall said:Nice finals matchup -- original six team Boston, which hasn't won the Cup in almost 40 years, against the 40 year old Vancouver franchise, which has never won it. Either the Stanley Cup will be back in Canada for the first time in 18 years, or a venerable U.S. team will win it; win-win the way I look at it.

<div>Game 7 between Tampa and Boston was tremendous hockey. I didn't care either way which team won but I was a nervous wreck watching it anyway.ÂÂÂ</div>
