I was just looking at some depth charts and if there is a season the Texans will probably start 11 whites.

Great news! I hope it turns out to be the case.

Who do you think is going to start, WA33? I'm not sure about their OL situation is, but I'm fairly sure about the rest of them. They're only gonna have 3 white starters on D, they moved Mario Williams to OLB from what I've heard.

QB- Matt Schaub
FB- James Casey??
WR- Kevin Walter
TE- Owen Daniels
C- Chris Meyers
RG- Mike Briesel
RT- Erc Winston

Defense
DE- J.J. Watt
ILB- Brian Cushing
OLB- Connor Barwin or Brooks Reed

Yeah, I'm thinking 9 or 10 as of now. I don't think they use a FB much, and Casey is still in the mix at TE, battling Dreessen to be Daniels' backup. Shaun Cody is half-White half-Mexican, so if he's considered White then they might have 11. Edited by: Don Wassall

Schaub, Daniels, Casey, Walter, Chris Myers, Mike Briesel, Eric Winston, Cody(if we consider him white), Watt, Cushing and Barwin. That's the best case scenario. It looks like the lowest team will be Raheem's "Blackeneers. If Cody Grimm doesn't start, and I doubt he will, it will be two white starters.

There's a good chance the Bucs will let Barrett Ruud leave via free agency. Hopefully Tampa will continue to draw poorly evenif they'rein playoff contention again this season.
The Texans have to make the playoffs this season otherwise Gary Kubiak will be gone. He was almost fired after last season's collapse following a good start. The Texans defense was terrible last year; hopefully Cushing, Watt, Reed and a healthy Barwin will make it respectable this year.Edited by: Don Wassall

Not sure where the best place to post this is, but I thought it was a cool pic.

That's awesome! I only saw him play once, but he was great!

Yep, he burned Auburn's DBs for 140 yards, one TD (longest one in a NC game), and a two point conversion in the NC game. The only reason he wasn't drafted was due to low melanin content. Hope this kid can make the Texans....they're starting to be one of my favorite teams in the NFL.

Same here. I'm gonna try to watch every game of theirs I can that doesn't conflict with watching Hillis. Though since atdhe is gone, I may just catch whatever garbage comes on television this year!

This should be the season Houston finally breaks through and makes the playoffs. They've been held back by a terrible defense, but if the young White talent they've drafted makes an impact their offense is good enough that they should be able to win 10 games and battle the Colts for the division title.

They cut David Anderson and (hyped) Amobi Okoye.. my guess is that he'll get big money from some other team.

I figured David Anderson would get cut- I didn't think it would happen this early though. Anderson was nothing more than a very solid #3, maybe #4 WR. These types of white WRs don't get a chance to last long in the NFL, especially on a team that will likely have two other white WRs on their opening day roster. Had to use a CYA method of some quotas for the bruthas didn't you Houston?

IMHO, Jeff Maehl is better anyway- as a great #2 WR or slot man. I predict Maehl makes the team, so the David Anderson semi-roster snub doesn't sting that much.

Good article on Brooks Reed.

Houston Texans rookie linebacker Brooks Reed aspires to do more than resemble Clay Matthews.

Here is an update from the Texans' camp that mentions Jeff Maehl and that injuries to all of the affletes ahead of him is getting him lots of playing time on the practice field. In the article is this response to a question from a reporter:

I wasn’t surprised at his answer, but I asked him how many teams called him after the lockout ended—remember teams were able to sign undrafted free agents before other players.
“Oh man I think my agent told me almost every team was interested. For me, there were five or six that were really pursuing me pretty hard and we broke it down to about three.â€
It’s clear his No. 1 choice was the Texans, and he explained why as well.
“Obviously it’s a great system in the passing game, you got guys like Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson, and I look at is as those are great guys to learn from. Coach Kubiak and how he is…I just got a really good vibe from him.â€

The Texans will most likely be the whitest team starting Chris Meyers, Matt Schaub, Eric Winston, Mike Brisiel, Owen Daniels, Kevin Walters, James Casey, JJ Watt, Shaun Cody(mostly white), Connor Barwin, and Brian Cushing. A half white team.

^^^^^^

Texans' release Adibi, amongst mostly other affletes!

Texans give players the boot: Notable Texans cut by the team on Saturday include: LB Xavier Adibi, LB Mister Alexander, DE Scooter Berry, SS Quintin Demps, WR Dorin ****erson, LB Steven Friday, DE John Graves, TE Anthony Hill, WR Trindon Holliday, SS Shiloh Keo, LB Stanford Keglar, LB Matt Marcorelle, WR Jeff Maehl, DT Guy Miller, RB Chris Ogbonnaya, FB Zac Pauga, WR Derrick Townsel, RB Javarris Williams and S Torri Williams.
(Updated 09/03/2011)

I figured that Guy Miller would be cut because of the "numbers-crunch" at DL..

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1244985/terrence-toliver

Texans put two on IR: The Texans placed LB Cheta Ozougwu and Terrence Toliver on injured reserve on Friday.
(Updated 09/03/2011)

Like Maehl, Toliver was a UDFA WR.

Texans resign David Anderson. I was actually hoping Anderson would sign somewhere else and that they'd activate Maehl.
