I wasn't implying he was bad, saying he was bad tonight. 24 rushes for 73 yards 3 ypc and 1 catch for -2 yards and 1 lost fumble. They said he was hurt on one play and then Gerhart got a carry for 4 yards. Then Peterson was back in and only getting 1 and 2 yard carries. Why would you continue to run Adrian when you drafted a guy in the 2nd round to make sure Peterson can last the season?
Every week his role has decreased, 4 carries, 3 carries the next game, 2 the next, and now 1.
Nobody is going to use Gerhart if he doesn't have at least something on film. His college resume will wind up just like Hass college resume, worthless. He gets only a few carries a game, not enough to do anything. I know black scrubs get recycled all of the time even after getting opportunities and failing but teams aren't going to be knocking down the door for Gerhart unless he shows something, regardless of what situation he is in. The only team smart enough is the Patriots, and I doubt they will do that with already having one white runningback and 2 white receivers. Unless the success of Hillis opens up the door and Gerhart has a nice preseason next year. Hes probably stuck there until his contract is up though.
and I think that is ridiculous to think Gerhart should only get carries if the Vikings are up by two scores. That is the same role Jacob Hester started off with, you know the guy who rush for 1,000 yards in the SEC and helped them win a national championship? Yeah that scenario has worked out real great for him. He should be getting at least 10 touches a game. They supposedly drafted him to replace Chester Taylor, he has proven he can catch, the guy isn't dumb so he should be able to figure out how to pick up the blitz on the 3rd down.
