The Rangers are going to have to sweep to win in 6 now.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind an NL team winning again.

I do want to see a couple Hamilton HRs in Texas, though.

"oh well, at least the yanks are gone"

Exactly

Just a few years ago the Rangers had a lot of white players. But the whole state of Texas is shifting dramatically towards the Hispanics. I don't know who I would want to win in the series. Not a lot of "white" showing on either team. I do like Freddy Sanchez on the Giants due to the way he was treated by the Pirates. I don't know. I guess it does not matter this year

Skipperon, compared to last year, it's much better in terms of white representation. The Rangers lineup last night was particularly good, which was their starting lineup for a vast majority of the season (minus Traenor, plus Guerrero at DH):

Texas

1 Elvis Andrus SS
2 Michael Young 3B
3 Josh Hamilton CF
4 Nelson Cruz RF
5 Ian Kinsler 2B
6 David Murphy LF
7 Matt Traenor C
8 Mitch Moreland 1B
9 C.J. Wilson P

San Francisco

1 Andres Torres CF
2 Freddy Sanchez 2B
3 Buster Posey C
4 Pat Burrell LF
5 Aubrey Huff 1B
6 Cody Ross RF
7 Juan Uribe 3B
8 Edgar Renteria SS
9 Matt Cain P

That's not so bad at all, in my opinion. 13 out of a possible 18 starting nine is pretty damn good, and quite a percentage of white players for modern sporting events. Compared to the Phillies and Yankees matchup of last year when there were, at most, seven starters out of 18 between the two lineups.

It's a shame Aaron Rowand didn't play better this season.

It's good to see obese Pablo Sandoval riding the pine.

I'm betting we'll see at least two longballs from the group of Hamilton, Young, Kinsler, Murphy and Moreland in Game 3.

I read your post, FF. So what? It wasn't anything original that needed credit as a quote, it was just a statement of fact and I repeated similar information.

It goes without saying that I'm very surprised the Rangers have played so poorly.

The pitching was terrible in SF.

I still think they'll get the bats going and win in Texas.

And Ron Washington won't have to do much managing in the AL park. He showed himself not up to the task in the NL one.

Left-handed batter, Mitch Moreland, just had a great at-bat getting a three-run homer against left-handed pitcher, Sanchez, of San Fran to put the Rangers up 3-0. The dude has a great swing.

Boy, did the Giants walloped the Rangers in the first two games (9-0 in Game 2). Let's hope the Rangers can level the series. They're playing great tonight. World Series jitters can do that.

Josh Hamilton just homered to make it 4-0 Texas.

Texas wins 4-2! It's now 2-1 series in favor of Giants.

Not really into either team, but I would love to see the Rangers win it all. The Giants have won the World series since 1954.

Just how imagine how different San Francisco was in 1954 compared to today.

The Giants were in New York in 1954. New York has also changed since that time.

One of the teams will end their long drought of never having won a World Series in their present location. But the loser will still have a ways to go to catch the Cubbies, who last won it all 102 years ago (one of my all-time favorite futility marks) and haven't appeared ina World Seriesin 65 years.

No, they haven't. The Giants have played in four WS post-1954...

1962 vs NYY: Lost 4-3 (even Charlie Brown mourned Richardson's catch of McCovey's liner to thwart SF's would be 9th inn. rally in g7)

1989 vs OAK: Swept by the A's (that was the earthquake Series)

Edit: 2002 vs ANA: Lost 4-3 (got ahead of myself and omitted 2002 originally. My bad.)

2010 vs TEX: Edit: remove the ?, replace it with "won 4-1". Congrats Jints for bringing the WS flag to your side of the bay after watching the Oakland A's win 4 WS (although you beat my Phils as part of the process).

Fine. I thought maybe you missed my post. Some people (myself included sometimes) go right to a real-time thread and update it without reading the latest posts.

Texas seems a bit more white friendly than the Giants, though SF has Hispanics like Torres and Sanchez who seem white at first glance. Plus Ron Washington will get all the credit if the Rangers win the series as he has the proper pigmentation.

Personally, I am just cheering for our players and don't really care who wins as both teams are racist.

Fear the Beard!

Truth is, I'd rather have the older Afro-Caribs on San Fran get some praise.. and not some of the younger one's on Texas.

I'm not a fan of the Afro-Carib "clique" on Texas, to put it mildly, and I really didn't want them to get the spotlight that World Series victors get.

Congrats to Posey, Matt Cain, Bumgarner, Brian Wilson, Cody Ross (who I thought was mixed when he was with the Florida Marlins, but it appears I was wrong), Lincecum and Bruce Bochy! I expect the media to say this series was "boring" and such, but my guess is that they just wanted Texas to win!

Well, congrats to the Giants for winning their first World Series in 56 years. The end of another long drought in sports.

I don't think the Cubs will win another Pennant, let alone a World Series for another 100 years.

Yeah it stinks to be a Cubs fan but try being a Cleveland fan. The franchise has gone 62 years (1948) since winning their last World Series and lost a extra inning Game 7 heartbreaker in 1997 to the expansion Marlins.
