Strangely this is the best thing for Kolb. The fans need to get sick to death of watching Convick scurring around and passing the ball to every blade of grass on the field - just like in Atlanta. Otherwise, Kolb would just be criticized as his Sumo teammates hang him out to dry. Predictable move by Fat Basard though. He doesn't have the guts to stand up to the blackerroom.

All this stuff about Vick's "brillant play" is a joke. He had decent games, but certainly wasn't brillant. Did he throw for 300 yards like Kolb? No. He used to be the league leader in getting sacked and guess what? He got sacked 6 times last week. Fat Basard used the words "Brillant play" and "playing out of his mind" to justify his move. Obviously a huge stretch to say such. We'll see more of the same from Convick; Occasional runs, lots of sacks, indecision, scatter shot arm, unruliness, laziness, and finally criminal activity. Welcome back Michael!Edited by: Kaptain Poop

So far, ConVick has had some success with a black quarterback on the other team and he probably will do moderately well against the black panthers, I mean the Jaguars. My take is that when he has to play against any White quarterback, we will be treated to his hilarious high-jinks of old, as he tries in vain to make up for terrible quarterback play.

Had some success yes but in what, one and a half games? That doesn't mean he can play. Kolb threw only 10 passes this season and he's out of a job. Only a negro could get his starting job back after several years out of the league.

With Vick, who did Philly beat? That's right.. Detroit.. Who does Philly play this week? Blacksonville..

Is it possible that Kolb could defeat Blacksonville?

That's my point, ConVick is being spoon fed playing time against teams Fat Bastard thinks he has a chance with, but when the going gets tougher, he will fold.

You fellows have it all wrong. The Vick story is wonderful for many reasons. Here is is a paragraph from spin doctor Michael Silver's latest offering.

In the six quarters since Kolb went down with a concussion in the Eagles' season-opening defeat to the Packers, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback has played at an insanely high level, one currently matched by only a few of his peers.

Reid has soft spot for Vick's redemption

As one of the more successful NFL coaches of his era, Andy Reid knows there are times a man in his position has to be a dispassionate arbiter of ability, even when it means ignoring what's in his gut or in his heart.

Making the bold decision on Tuesday to go with Michael Vick(notes) over Kevin Kolb(notes) as the Eagles' starting quarterback was not one of those cold, calculated coaching moments.

To understand Reid's regard for Vick and the extent to which the coach has been moved by the fallen star's dramatic revival, you have to assess his psyche on a very human level. Like more than many of us, Reid realizes that people have flaws and make poor decisions, and he believes wholeheartedly in the power of redemption.

To be sure, sticking with Vick was a logical decision. In the six quarters since Kolb went down with a concussion in the Eagles' season-opening defeat to the Packers, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback has played at an insanely high level, one currently matched by only a few of his peers. Kolb, meanwhile, looked overwhelmed and ineffective in his first start as Donovan McNabb's(notes) anointed successor. Riding Vick's hot left hand, at least for now, is a no-brainer, and Reid could have had problems in the locker room had he stubbornly ignored the evidence in Vick's favor.

Make no mistake, however: Reid's move was steeped in emotion. While players around the league are excited by Vick's resurgence â€" most of the ones I've talked to are openly rooting for his success â€" no one in the NFL is more thrilled than the coach who gave him his second chance(snip)

The rest of the article is just as sickening.

Someone on CF mentioned that Vick was sacked 6 times by Detroit.. so I looked up Vanden Bosch's stats, and he had 1.5 of those sacks!!

The media is ridiculous! Vick will get hurt just like his brothas Dennis Dixon and Byron Leftwich...

I can't wait for the Eagles to start facing top defense and see Convick dig his own grave. The guy is just too stupid to be a starting quarterback in the league. If not for his running ability he wouldn't even be in the NFL.

There is one reason Vick is the starter: the blacks on the team run the team and they want Vick. If Vick doesn't start, they will start missing blocks, running lazy routes and dropping balls.

Kevin Kolb played very well last night on the road, especially considering how Fat Bastard suddenly demoted him. Vick is a free agent after the season, so Kolb should be the starter the Eagles build around nextyear if Vick starts the rest of this season when he gets healthy.

Report: Bunkley out indefinitely: Philadelphia DL Brodrick Bunkley is out indefinitely with a torn ligament in his elbow. More tests will be run on Tuesday to determine if he is out for the rest of the season. Bunkley left the Week 5 win over San Francisco in the first quarter, he did not return.
(Updated 10/11/2010)

They now say that it was a sprained elbow.

They started 6 today and played a few subs like Hall quite a bit. Whitest they've been in a while since they almost always have a black black quarterback.

Looks like Anderson will be a WSTD, at least for now.

Newly signed S Colt Anderson is expected to fill in for Kurt Coleman
(who is expected to start at free safety in place of Nate Allen) on
special teams.

Can Owen Schmitt get a carry for the first time in a couple years? He's done a great job blocking and receiving, but we all know from his days at WVU that he's a quality runner as well.

Rotoworld on Brent Celek

Brent Celek was held to just two catches for 8 yards in Monday's Week 10 win over Philadelphia, 59-28.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
Celek was the only Philadelphia starter not to get an invitation to the
Monday night fantasy point party. He's an afterthought in the Michael
Vick offense, as he had only four targets. There was a potential 20-yard
gain that LaRon Landry knocked out of Celek's hands, but little else to
talk about for his night. It tough to consider him a TE1 given his role
on the offense.

How does a guy who almost had 1,000 yards receiving last season become an afterthought on the Eagles offense? I haven't watched any Eagles games this season but has he been blocking more often? They always find a way to make a star white player a nobody.

It's because Vick likes to throw shorter passes toward the sidelines... He's reluctant to attack the middle of the field.

BTW, toward the end of the game, Vick threw a ball that SHOULD have been picked off..

well i dunno about that; deadlift, Vick by all accounts had a great game on MNF. too bad Celek wasn't on a receiving end at all! McNabb was better at getting him involved.

Sorry for this rant, but truth is that 3 of the leagues' top 5 rated passers this year are black. Yep two of them (Young and Garrard) throw less than the typical white QB-, but they've been managing the game well and they can use their feet to get a first down and are throwing down field more. All 3 of the aforementioned are on teams that are above .500 and have been effective in getting wins. Heck even Seneca Wallace looked solid out there for the Browns, although he isn't as good as McCoy- and doesn't open up the Browns offense the same way, he was undoubtedly better than Delhomme. Basically every black QB has played in the average range or above this season as far as I can tell (am I missing anyone?). We have no Tarvaris Jacksons or Duhmarcuses to complain about this year. In fact I don't think we'll have to worry about Tarvaris, the Vikings are probably going to go to Joe Webb next year- after inept Childress is gone- and use Gerhart more. Webb could be a very solid player, where Jackson is inept just like Childress.

On Gerhart, there's even a chance they let Peterson go for financial reasons when his contract is up if Gerhart performs well once he gets more playing time- or they'll trade Toby or he'll jump ships when his contract is up. If we get riled up about 6-8 black QBs starting with up to 10 in the future as this country becomes less white than how will we enjoy the emergence of the white RB and how will some not think of us as Keilyn Ellis' and Joey Backersvilles if we incorrectly play the race card. If we want equality for our guys- than we should fairly evaluate black QBs and give them their due this season. As long as the NFL black QB demographics don't alarmingly surpass the population demographics- it won't really bother me. We should be working on fighting to get the defenses whiter and WR and RB numbers in the NFL MUCH WHITER- this is where stereotypes will be shed and young fit white kids will feel proud of themselves for coming into this world as white.

I have been enjoying this season so much and have even noticed that message boards are improving in their drunken level a bit so we should try to be as proactive and optimistic as we can be to draw more posters to the site! Without this site I don't think we would have seen Hillis and Woodhead get a chance this season and Gerhart drafted in the first two rounds! It's been great relief- with all the other usual things that are still disturbing me with what goes on in the U.S!

Hey Tough J, I pay attention, and also note that black QB's are doing well in the NFL this year, and a few notables are doing well in the college ranks as might be expected. I'm just a dumb spectator and part-time youth coach, but how dense are these defensive coordinators? I think that they buy in to the Myth and from what I've seen, play black QB's straight-up, like it's Peyton Manning behind center.

To beat these guys, simply take away the short stuff, constantly mix up your fronts ("time-square defense") and dare them to throw deep to the 1 on 1 covered receivers while being dogged by lineman and LB's. Look what Cal was able to do to Oregon last week using this type of approach. If they had a semblance of an offense themselves, they would have won this game going away. Watching the way defenses are coached to play against these guys always drives me nuts. I have my players just blast them into submission, let them attempt the deep throws, good luck!

True, but the best quarterbacks overall are still predominantly White. In passing yardage, the top 9 are White, as are 14 of the top 15. In touchdown passes, 16 of the 18 leaders are White.

I agree that black QBs are playing better this year. In fact, in the Week 10 thread I favorably mentioned your belief that some successful black QBs may make it somewhat easier for Whites to be "allowed" to play RB, WR, and defense. There's no question that incremental progress, both among players and the attitudes of the DWFs, is being made. Andseveral factors are converging that should continue to put sustained pressure on the Caste System for years to come. Edited by: Don Wassall

FD, thanks for the feedback. I would like to see defenses get much whiter as they should be as well, but I think that folks would start saying that white RBs and WRs are doing better because the defenses are much whiter and have less speed. Even though I think you neutralize a smaller and faster defense, by making a quick cut or two and mostly attacking north south rather than dancing and running most of your plays wide. Everything isn't going to happen quickly. I think if we keep fighting we could see as many starting white RBs in the next 5-7 years as there are black QBs currently. I plan on taking more of my fight elsewhere because I think that there is lots of proof of white excellence at tailback this year and I see that the drunkeness on other message boards has gone down a little and more are reachable.

I know I don't talk politics much here, but I want you guys to know that I'm against the police/lock up state like you all are and am troubled by the lack of libertarian message in the U.S and extreme double standards in justice. I also am disgusted by the reckless spending and special interests that control U.S politics. The tea party folks only see part of the problem currently and many are still neocons. I know lots of you guys respect me, but I still feel like some of you see me as a troublemaker/thought policeman when I agree with the great majority of the message here and wish America would go back to the values it had in the 1950s however unlikely.

I agree, but I think Vick would be in the top 10 in yardage if he wasn't injured for some games. The best 5 QBs in the league are likely Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Rivers and Brees though even though Brees and Manning's production has dropped some this year they both have a long track record of AMAZING success. Thank you for mentioning my black QB/white RB argument in the other thread.
