I picked up Woodhead (who has dual eligibility at WR/RB) in my $ FF league and Danny already has as many points as the 2 affletes (Rice, Brown) that I drafted to be my 2 starting RBs. I'm sure glad I drafted Hillis late in this 12 team draft because Hillis is my #1 RB now and Hillis has the 5th most fantasy points among ALL RBs (with only 2 starts) in our league. Not bad for a player that probably didn't get drafted in 99% of leagues.

Hillis seems like the real deal, increasing the excitement of fantasy
owners who jumped on him following his breakout performance last week
against Baltimore. He should get the bulk of Cleveland's carries again
next week against Atlanta. <cite>(STATS, Inc.)

Fred Taylor should be back very soon and Rotoworld rains on our parade.

Danny Woodhead rushed eight times for 36 yards and added one catch for 11 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins in Week 4.

Yeah, the folks at WeinieWorld obviously are completely clueless. Even WITH Fred Taylor back, he's not going to be a workhorse RB at his age and fragility, and is not an option at all as a 3rd down back. I guess the jockstrap fumes have completely overcome them.

It is interesting that with the worthless Moroney traded, Taylor hurt, Morris on the sidelines with a walker, the Pats now have a running game, and a pretty good one, with Green-Ellis (undrafted, obviously not good, according to "scouts"), and Woodhead. I can't remember the last time that the Pats have had a reliable running game, and they achieve it with a couple of unwanted castoffs.

Now if they can do something about the terrible, lazynearly coal-black defense, we might have a dominant team here.

FD, I was just at Jets Insider and there are still a few delusional clowns who are saying things like-

1. It was a numbers game, we weren't ready to give up on Joe McKnight- he's got so much potential.

2. Then there was some clown who said that the Patriots offense is like the Boston Celtics of the 80s- there's like 3 black guys and that's it. Here's a memo to these clowns- The Patriots still have a majority black receiving core and they also have 5 black RBs on the roster compared to 1 white in a 75% white country.

3. Then there was another clown talking about how any player can succeed in the Patriots system. Yeah, it doesn't look like Maroney did very well did he?

FD, to be fair- the Patriots D FINALLY played well last night.

Rumors are flying hot and heavy right now that the Patriots are going to trade Randy Moss to the Vikings. If so, that should only increase the playing time of Julian Edelman (unless the Patriots get Harvin or the injured Sidney Rice in return for Moss), and maybe Danny Woodhead too.

I'd love to see them trade Moss to the Vikes.Wouldn't it be sweet if SOMEHOW Toby was sent to the Pats as an incentive to make the deal.

Please trade Moss for Gerhart. Toby is not going to see the turf, if AP plays the way he is or doesn't get hurt. Toby, regardless should demand a trade in the off season.

If Gerhart was involved in the deal, New England would be very close to an all-white starting offense. At least, if Gerhart were black he would be instantly made the starter.

It's all hypothetical for now though...here's hoping for another Caste miracle.

Gerhart aside, this is great news for Tom Brady. We all know Belechik will open up the passing game as an in-your-face to Moss and all the people whining about how stupid it is to trade Moss. Great news for Edelman.

On the flip side, this will work out terribly for Brett Favre. He will now get all the blame when Moss inevitibly shows to be unproductive. He's over-rated and has struggled to get open. The guy has caught nine passes this year. I've watched New England games and at times it seems they changed their successful game plan just to try to keep Moss happen and force him the ball. He's had Tom Brady laying balls into his breadbasket for some years now, but he's the same reciever that left Minnesota after wearing out his welcome and the same one that struggled tremendously in Oakland.

from rotoworld:

Minnesota Vikings acquired WR Randy Moss from the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2011 third-round pick.

Moss will head to Minnesota without a long-term deal. It's anyones guess as to how much Moss has left in the tank, as it's been awhile before anyone has seen him give 100%. The Patriots now have an additional pick in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft, and are primed to add even more talent to their roster.

Great trade for the Patriots. Moss had clearly quit on the team. Moss might play hard for the Vikes in order to get one more contract. Brandon Tate has looked decent and I expect Welker to get healthier every week. Also, hopefully we see more of Edelman who's had a foot injury.

Looks to me like Belichick just hoodwinked the Viqueens out of a 3rd round pick. The only reason the Pats would deal Moss is that they think he's done, and I tend to agree.

i'm sure Moss has a few games left in him, but Patriots obviously think he doesn't have a whole lot to offer plus his attitude is not what BB wants from his players. Between Welker, Edelman, Tate, Hernandez, Gronkowski and Woodhead they have plenty of receiving weapons for Tom Brady to work with!

The Randy Moss trade will indeed allow more white players (especially Edelman and Gronkowski) to see more playing time. Welker has been on the sideline for an unusually high amount of plays this season"¦most likely in order to slowly reintroduce his injured knee to NFL game speed. Welker has looked quicker and more confident each week and the bye week should help his rehabilitation. He should see increased snaps, targets, catches, and touchdowns as a result of Moss' departure.

With Moss gone, the only non-white receiving threats will be TE Aaron Hernandez and WR Brandon Tate (though I imagine WR Taylor Price will be activated against the Ravens). Unfortunately, Hernandez has been quite stellar this season, especially for a rookie. Tate has already returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, and looks much improved as a receiver.

Perhaps the Patriots plan to use Tate as the deep threat, Edelman for intermediate routes, Welker in the slot, and Hernandez / Gronkowski as receiving TE's? Edelman has been an utter disappointment this season, as he's barely played whatsoever as a result of a lingering foot injury. His role should increase significantly.Edited by: Thrashen

Wes Welker's fantasy value could take a hit following the Patriots' trade of Randy Moss Wednesday morning.

Teams were already starting to send double teams Welker's way, and they'll be more plentiful going forward. Welker is a "No. 1" now for the first time in his career, and we're skeptical that it's a good thing. The Pats' probable maintenance of a pass-happy offense will keep Welker as a WR2 in PPR leagues, but he's unlikely to find the end zone as often. True monster games in terms of yardage will also be harder to come by.

rotoworld does make a valid point, Wes will face double teams pretty much all the time, ever since Moss faded he saw an increase of that but Moss was still an occasional deep threat. we'll see how it pans out! Edited by: backrow

and another one:

FOX Sports' Adam Caplan predicts that Wes Welker will "see more double teams than ever" following the Randy Moss trade.

It's exactly what we were thinking. The Patriots now lack a proven outside receiver, so defenses will load up to stop Welker at least until Brandon Tate or rookie Taylor Price emerges as a threat on the perimeter. The Moss trade isn't a death knell for Welker -- he's still likely to lead the Pats in targets every week -- but is fantasy upside is curtailed moving forward.

Yawn. I'm looking forward to Welker proving these guys wrong yet again. Some of Welker's most productive games last year were ones that had Moss on the sidelines.

Caste whore Greg Brady on the FAN 590 in Canada joked that all the Patriots have now is "Wes Welker, a little white dude running around", (as he put it) but without Moss they had no one to go deep to for the big play.

Yep, the media and DWFs will be surprised when Welker continues to be his usual great self, just as they've been astonished by the success of Hillis, Woodhead and Kuhn. Three weeks ago, 99 percent of DWF Nation thought that White men were incapable of running the ball. Probably 95 percent think that Welker can't succeed being double covered. Yawn is right, Football Dad.

The Fan 590 has become a joke. They don't even care about reporting on sports anymore, just entertaining all their DWF listeners.

The only decent broadcaster left on the station is Bob McCown.Edited by: TorontoArgos

The truth is Welker is just too quick and shifty for anyone to cover. He doesn't have deep speed but he's unstoppable in the short to mid range. Does anyone know what the Patriots setup will be now? Welker will be the No. 1 and I wonder if Edelman or Brandon Tate will be the No. 2.

My guess is they will have Welker and Tate on the flanks with Edelman on the inside, most snaps.

If Edelman is a Welker type receiver, than he is better suited in the slot where he can use the whole field, and his quickness will make him unstoppable.

Just put the ball in Danny's hands, raise both arms parallel, kick extra point.

Looks to me like Belichick did it again. Got rid of a guy who was coming apart at the seams. So many other teams would allow this poor slob to louse up their team through the entire season. Not Belichick.
The guy's gone and he got a #3 for him. Looks good.
