Nice win for the Lakers. I'm glad alot of their bench guys played some minutes and looked good. I wanted Gasol to get the triple double really bad. If the game was closer, he would have had one no doubt about it. Bring on game 7.

It's almost like the Boston Africans' "threw" Game 6... They were mighty atrocious! Such a "display" of "WGA" ability...

It was Twilight Zone-ish. Just WOW. But, watch, they'll win Game 7. They'll "rise from the dead" -- if you will -- on LA soil.

Tonight belongs to the Lakers. It might be close and down to the wire but Kobe and Gasol will both have great games and hopefully Artest and Odom will contribute as well.

I don't know about you guys but I haven't watched a single game this postseason. Not much to cheer for except Gasol and Luke Walton.

Who is Luke Walton? Does he still play for the Lakers?

Just kidding around, he has got a little more playing time in the finals because of his defense on Pierce when Artest rests and his passing game in the triangle offense.

If I remember correctly he used to get quite a few minutes and even start some games a few seasons ago. Compare that to this season.

It doesn't look good for the Lakers, the Afro-Celtics are practically controlling the game and Kobe and Gasol are having terrible nights. After 2008, this might be the darkest moment in NBA history.

The rebound by Gasol at the end and the free throws by Vujacic sealed the deal. Congrats to the Lakers. They fought hard and they deserve to win. I would like to see some of their role players go to other teams though where they can play more.

Great win for the lakers. Kobe just gave total props to Gasol and said "I have to give total props to the Spanaird. We could not have done it with out him!"It's true and Gasol is a staple to the Lakers now. Great bloking and rebounding esp the one at the end and Sasha's freethrows, very clutch!

We have witnessed the birth of another European/White superstar. Pau Gasol has taken the final step in becoming a superstar, and I'll be forever grateful on his stunning triumph on this very night. Gasol joins Dirk and Nash as the white NBA superstars of this generation.

Gasol also just became the 2nd European after Dirk to become a superstar. He's now a guaranteed future Hall of Famer!

Gasol - 2010 NBA Champion

Rafael Nadal - 2010 French Open Champion

Spain - 2010 World Cup Champion????

Indeed, and it is good that Bryant had support from other key players, esp with his shooting perc, down tonight, esp help from Gasol. Fisher hit a couple three's the big one especially in the fourth, and who would have thought Artest (of all players) would play as well as he did. I want to see Vujacic get more minutes, but he may have to go to another team. I actually hope he gets them with the Lakes.

Congrats to Pau Gasol!
Monster game!
I think that if the Lakers win it all next year that Pau could get a Finals MVP!
He's basically up there with Kevin McHale and Tim Duncan now among the great power forwards.
Now all the Kobe naysayers will say' yeah Kobe has five rings but he had Shaq and Pau!!!".

Duncan never won back to back and he had David Robinson and Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. So Pau is a HUGE part of this mini-dynasty. Hopefully his success will allow better chances for white rookies.

Gasol is the reason why Kobe has the two last rings. Without him they would fall short this season and probably last season. His blocks and defense down the stretch made the difference in the game. I also think the Roxbury Zulus lost their legs down the stretch as they seemed to fade(Rondo aside). This will be the Zulus last run.....

Great news I was at Staples on a work related mission. Listen to the radio as the Lakers bit the bullet and came back. Congrats to all of the Lakers especially our guys who came up big!

I was very nervous for the first 3 quarters, as the Lakers did not look very good at all. Then, in the 4th, the superstars Gasol and Kobe carried the team, Artest and Fisher made big plays, and of course Vujacic hit those huge FTs at the end to seal the deal.

Although I do not follow the NBA as much as I used to, a win by the Zulus would have been a disaster. Thankfully, this group of thugs is most likely done for good, and as long as the Lakers have Gasol and a few other white role players, plus Kobe, they should be favorites to win 1-2 more titles, at least, so all is well.

There's no doubt that Pau Gasol shined very brightly at the biggest stage, and no one can ever doubt him in anyway. I know there are many Dirk and Nash supporters here, and deservedly so, but after this, Gasol has to be the top European/white player in the NBA now, and a sure future HOF'er. In this year's playoffs especially, I have lost count of the number big and clutch plays Pau has made in every series. I belive it is this clutchness (and his 2 championships) that now set him apart from the others.

Point well taken J41181, foobar and other guys- Gasol is now a SUPERSTAR and surefire HOFer and although Dirk's season/career stats are better Gasol is absolutely pure clutch! Man, hearing how well Gasol did, I wish I turned on this game when I got home. I got tied up at work and didn't get home till after 11 PM and didn't even know if the game was still on. Congrats to the Lakers, but I hope the Suns make some moves (sign David Lee and Joe Johnson?) and next year will be their year.

From a Mainstream perspective, the following are some reasons why the Laker win was so significant:

- Pau Gasol is NO LONGER viewed as soft, most European/White players will no longer be viewed soft.

- The triumph eases the shortcomings of Dirk & Nash (they're victims of weak team support, and corrupt officiating).

- Pau Gasol is now a SUPERSTAR, the 3rd White superstar (after Dirk and Nash) of this generation, and 2nd European superstar (after Dirk).

- Pau Gasol is the first Multiple White All-Star (3 times) to win Championships since Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.

- Other than Ginobili (2005), Gasol is the first white player to win Championships while being an All-Star the same year (2009, 2010).

- The 2010 year, very memorable, this will be the talk of the NBA for years to come.

- Pau Gasol joins Rafael Nadal (tennis), and Miguel Inturbide (cyclist) as one of Spain's Greatest Athletes ever.

- The win has guaranteed Gasol a place in the basketball Hall of Fame.

- Lastly, since it's the year 2010, this along with Duke's win, Mickelson's win, the K brothers winning, an All-White team possibly winning the World Cup, Federer & Nadal dominating tennis, and a white sprinter (Lemaitre) possibly going sub 10, this is fast becoming a memorable year for white athletes altogether. j41181 Great stats and info on our guys! I finally got home and watched the replay. The Lakers played team ball and got expected performance from Gasol and unexpected contributions from Ron Artest of all people. Hitting big 3s and D'ing up. Kobe finally got on track in the 4th quater. This Laker team is a collection of good guys.

Say what you will about Kobe, but he puts more into winning than bling and the other affeletic nonsense. And yes, there is that incident several years ago, but what is a girl coming up to your room at O dark thirty? Anyway, I watched Hanna Storm give an exclusive interview with him, and he gave most of the credit to Gasol. Kobe is the best player with the Killer instinct. He just believes in excellence for himself and team mates on the court.

Hopefully next year Sasha and Luke will find something or get back on track to get the minutes they got last year and the year before. Farmer was big in this series and will continue to get better. He won game six for them. And yes, I pray Adam Morrison finds a meaniful role. Saw him in a suit and he had a painful look on his face. But like I tell my friends everyone on the season roster deserves a ring. They push the stars and second teamers in practice so they win the Championship in the end. Congrats to the Lakers!

Yes, and to be fair, Fisher rescued the Lakers in game 3 and made some big shots tonight. It must be a great feeling to win at that level with all the adulation and celebrating it with your teammates. Good Times to be a Laker fan, when I was once a Celtic fan back in the 80s. Funny how things change.
