Didn't see this posted. Just saw that BYU players have been accused of making racial slurs. Looks like another attack on a majority white team. If they did make slurs its probably exaggerated and shouldn't be a big deal anyway, Ive played and black players make racial slurs as well.

"Provo "¢ Charges from a member of the San Diego State football broadcast

"We feel confident that the things that he said are not true,"Â￾ said
BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe."

"Provo "¢ Charges from a member of the San Diego State football broadcast
team on his sports talk radio show last week that Brigham Young
University players routinely make racial slurs during athletic events
are totally false, BYU's athletic director said Monday. "

"Chris Ello, a color analyst for radio station XTRA Sports 1360 in San
Diego, included allegations of racism in an anti-BYU rant Thursday after
learning that a BYU employee worked in the replay booth Oct. 9 during
the Cougars' 24-21 win over the Aztecs. The booth botched a call that
led to BYU retaining the football after an obvious fumble. Ello said BYU
was "100 percent hypocritical"Â￾ and had "no honor,"Â￾ among other
derogatory statements. Ello apologized Friday for some of the remarks,
saying he was emotional and frustrated, but did not back away from his
accusations about racial slurs."

"I have talked to dozens and dozens of San Diego State players over the
years who will tell you without fact, or without argument, that BYU is
the dirtiest, slimiest, most ill-behaved football team that they play
every single year,"Â￾ Ello said Thursday. "The racial comments that are
delivered during games [by BYU players] "¦ would get people arrested in
most parts of the world."Â￾

Holmoe also voiced displeasure about a blog post on the station's
website that Ello, who is white, made 18 months ago in which he compared
Provo to Birmingham, Ala., in the 1960s and said he feared for his
well-being while walking down the town's streets.

Great, white people playing the race card, against whites! I find it hard to believe that a team with a lot of Mormons would be dirtier and slimier then the routine team of thugs that most other colleges have.

Notice that he said the BYU players could get arrested in most places in the world for those types of comments? Huh? Arrested? So much for free speech.

He also said he didn't feel safe in Provo!!! HAHAHAHAHA, go to Detroit, pal, a 'modern' city where you can feel "safe". I bet Birmingham Alabama in the 1960's was one of the safest cities in the world, for White or black people.

This guy is a nut job and anyone can see it.

What a drunk white jackass. Does he really care that much about San Diego State football that he's willing to make up this crap? What a douche bag.

The dude is highly delusional. He's clearly never been to Provo. I doubt that racial epithets are common amongst BYU players, nor are they the dirtiest, slimiest players of any team. I'm sure in the heat of competition, a couple of them might occasionally say or do something that isn't exactly sportsmanlike, but there is no way it comes even halfway close to what this maroon is claiming. I do know that past players on other western teams have mentioned BYU as being pretty bad about whining and complaining on the field.

This news is about 3 weeks old, but I still think its worth posting here. Black WR O'Neill Chambers, a Florida import, is off the team for 2010 for violating team rules.

PROVO, Utah (Oct. 18, 2010) â€" BYU head football coach Bronco
Mendenhall today announced that junior wide receiver O'Neill Chambers
has been suspended indefinitely for disciplinary reasons and will not
participate with the team for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Chambers appeared in five of BYU's seven games this season, missing
two games for a prior disciplinary suspension. In addition to five
receptions for 48 yards as a receiver, Chambers totaled 316 yards on 15
kick returns and 45 yards on five punt returns.</span>

Looks like the newly independent Cougars will come calling in Oxford for their first game in '11. This will be the first meeting between the two schools. I'm hoping for a huge victory for BYU!

Bronco Mendenhall likes the idea of playing Hawaii every year "with so many Polynesian players and the ancestry on our team." He's also mentioned trying to play Michigan a couple of times and the service academies on a regular basis.

Here's the current BYU schedule for 2011.

Just like the Polys that I believe started on their DL earlier this season when their defense was constantly being driven-back and scored upon. Now that one or two of them were replaced a few games ago, that hasn't happened anymore. As we all know, you can have an all-black team and be considered "diverse", but not an all-White team. So, for the sake of "diversity" (and from being sued by the NAACP, called out by the SPLC, or picketed by Al and Jessie), he is adding some Polys to the mix. Thus it is in America, 2010.

BYU has been recruiting and playing polys for a long time. Great point about the d-line though. BYU and Utah play way too many polys, even considering the poly population of Utah. Several polys have been imported from other states or the islands themselves. The racial pandering and exploitation (in my view) is pretty pathetic.

Here are the probable starters for the Cougars in their Caste matchup with the Coal Miners of UTEP. Pretty much the same, but I hope Safety Steve Thomas gets back in time for the bowl game. They currently start 16 whites. They almost had an all-white offense, they managed to find a black WR by the name of Cody Hoffman?!?

Offense
QB- Jake Heaps
FB- Brian Kariya
TB- J.J. DiLuigi
WR- McKay Jacobson
TE- Mike Muehlmann - in a fight for the position.
LT- Matt Reynolds
LG- Braden Hansen
C- Terence Brown
RG- Jason Speredon
RT- Braden Brown

Defense
LE- Matt Putnam
SLB- Jameson Frazier
MLB- Shane Hunter
BLB- Brandon Ogletree
WLB- Jadon Wagner
KAT- Andrew Rich

I thought Luke Ashworth was a starting WR for the Cougs.</span>

Highlander, McKay Jacobson has started 10 games at WR, and is listed above Ashworth on the depth chart. Luke Ashworth started just 2 games this year but has seen a lot of playing time and has been more productive than Jacobson, Hoffman, and DiLuigi.

By the way, here's the 2011 BYU football schedule for those who are interested. I'd say it is a little less difficult than their 2010 schedule.

Sept. 17 Utah
Sept. 23 Central Florida
Sept. 30 Utah State
Oct. 8 San Jose State
Oct. 15 at Oregon State
Oct. 22 Idaho State
Oct. 29 Bye
Nov. 5 at Louisiana Tech
Nov. 12 Idaho
Nov. 19 New Mexico State

Me too, FootballDad. I wouldn't mind being in Oxford for that first game. Pass out some CF business cards and hope for a big BYU win!

Steve Thomas is done with football. Too many concussions did him in. I haven't heard an update recently, but Jordan Pendelton may be back for the bowl game. IMO, Bronco wrecked the first half of the year, but was stellar in the second. Can't wait for next year, though. One, because Heaps is unbelievably talented. And two, the black midget off of the movie Bad Santa will no longer be playing corner.

Are people in Provo excited about young linebacker Zac Stout?

Yeah. Got alot of playing time after Bronco fired the defensive coordinator and took over. I am guessing he will start next year.

Its been an interesting year. For the first half BYU had an all Poly defensive line and were about dead last against the run. Then they put Matt Putnam atdefensive end and Jordan Richardson at nose tackle and the defense stopped the run. Hopefully Bronco will put two and two together and put an end tothe mostly poly recruiting he's been doing.

This news is nice to hear, BYU76! I hope you are right about recruiting.

There were a couple of articles about Drew Philips. Apparently, he was completely unstoppable in practice. The first team D guys were all raving about him. He has all kinds of star potential. However, they seem to be interested in using him as some sort of hybrid back/receiver, rather than as a pure rb.
