Yeah, Scott Wood can shoot -- he's a Hoosier!

Georgtown's white player is Nate Lubick. Unlike the very rare white tokens who weren't good under JT III's dad, Nate was a big-time, top 50 recruit. The media noted how odd it was when he signed, but Nate said he wasn't aware of the Hoya blackout. Hey, he is from Massachusetts.

One of the surprise breakout players is 6-10 MSU soph Garrick Sherman. Not Paul Davis good, but way ahead of Goran Suton at the same age.Edited by: GreatLakeState

Sorry if someone mentioned this in an earlier post but Tyler Zeller had a career high 27 points a few days ago for UNC.

Nikola Vucevic had 24 points and 9 boards, in the USC win over Texas yesterday!!

He was also very good against Texas last season, but Texas won that game.

Wow, I think I saw an actual white player for Georgetown. Either that or I need new glasses or a better TV.

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Hell has truly frozen over.

On ESPN now. Notre Dame leads an Affletic Kentucky team by 9 with about 4 minutes left in the first half. Hansborough is raining three's. He has 19 points on 7-10 shooting. 5-7 from three.

Jimmer made ESPN's Top 10 plays with a behind-the-back pass. No. 1 play was Andrew Bogut's tip-in game-winner.

Is Duke down to 2 white starters this season? If so, very disappointing.

Nope, there were three white starters in the game against Bradley the other night, Singler and both Plumlee brothers. Forward Ryan Kelly is one of the first players off the bench.

But look at their "army" of black guards.. Even if Irving is out, they still have Nolan Smith, Seth Curry, Andre Dawkins and the afroletic frosh from DC.

What I notice in basketball is that a significant number of jump-shots are uncontested.. (I remember when Jason Williams was at Duke and shooting wide-open 3s.. I always felt the media went OVERBOARD in their "praise" of him.) If coach K wanted to, he could "find" a few White guards.... NC State has Scott Wood, and they have a black coach in Sidney Lowe.. what's coack K's excuse?

Jimmer Fredette is putting on a clinic for BYU against the U of A Wildcats who were 8-1 coming into today. The Cougars are winning at half time by 19 points. What has Jimmer done so far? He has 20 points at the half. This guy is an all american and he is for a good reason. No one can guard this kid. His ball handling, passing and shooting skills are next to none. He is amazing. I can't wait to see him in the NBA someday. I think this BYU Team has a chance of going deep into the tournament. They are a joy to watch.

Most typical idiot fans would probably laugh at what I am about to say, but Arizona was abolutely insane to try to run with BYU. Their guards and small forwards could notstay in front of Jimmer, Jackson and the freshman Kyle Collinsworth. Game was never close.

The Zulus' of Gonzaga lost again!! Notre Dame's afflete, Atkins, missed 3 late free-throws which almost doomed them, though.

Steven Gray is pretty damn dark.. if he has a White parent, they didn't pop-out a handsome kid, that's for sure.

So you hate seeing players missing jump shot after jump shot too?

I'm really excited about how good BYU is. They are undefeated and now ranked 18th in the nation. They also have the most exciting player in the country. Jimmer could end up being a lottery pick. He would have easily scored over 40 again yesterday if they didn't take him out of the game with around 5.30 to go. A classy move by the coach though. I love the Cougars.

The NBA badly needs another white American guard. Both Hinrich & Ridnour are doing fine, but are on losing teams. JJ Redick will only get so much playing time in Orlando, while Carroll, Kapono, and Janning are space cadets. Mike Miller is a combo guard-forward and is injury prone (out at the moment).

It'd be great see Jimmer get drafted.. but, after Scheyer got totally snubbed, I can only display slight optimism on Jimmer's part.

I don't know why Scheyer is not in the league. A big point guard who can shoot with a NCAA championship should
be a prized commodity. He would be a great fit on a team like the Heat, the Celtics, or the Bulls.

I hope Fredette goes to a team that needs him and will play him a lot of minutes right away.
The Clippers would be a good fit. Or the Trail Blazers if they get rid of their veterans to rebuild.
Then they could build around Fredette, Batum, Rudy Fernandez, and either LaMarcus Aldridge or whoever they can get for him.

you guys who think Jimmer Fredette is going to get a legitimate shot in the NBA are out of your minds. apparently, you don't fully appreciate the overwhelmingness of the caste system in basketball.

there's not a bigger fan of Fredette on this site than me, but he is a short, White, American. as such, he has no chance to get a fair shake.

i'll be surprised ifJimmer doesn't repeat the experience of Bryce Drew. at best. Drew was selected in the first round, but then he was never even given a chance to earn minutes although he did earn an NBA paycheck for a handful of years.

some of you might remember Drew from "Pacer" in the NCAA Tourney a few years back, when his shot culminated in one of the biggest upsets in Big Dance history.

also in that game,Keith Carter (who played for Ole Miss) is a shining example of the caste system in the NBA. his story infuriates me to this day.

Just wanted to make a quick point on the UConn women's team who won their 89th straight game tonight. Despite the predictable coverage by the media and making it look like they actually "surpassed" the UCLA Bruins 88-game winning streak, the fact is, no such thing has occured. They simply extended their own record. It's a completely different sport and a different game, so all this nonsense about a new record being broken is just another chapter from the feminist/cultural-marxist playbook. They are trying to play the equality card, or in this case, going so far as to say the UConn women are actually better. The media will never miss a chance to emasculate and diminish men's accoplishments while at the same making women look superior, so this was a very good opportunity to do that.

I'm not anti-woman or anything even remotely close to it, but the fact remains that a good HS boys varsity team would easily spank this UConn team. They should just celebrate it for what it is, a women's college basketball record, instead of trying to draw parallels with the men's game. When a men's team wins 89 games in a row, that's when the Bruins record will be broken. As of now, it stays intact, and given the current state of college basketball, it won't be threatened anytime soon.Edited by: foobar75

I agree, Foobar. The media is shoving this UConn women's basketball story down our throats as if we're ignorant. Since when have sports records in one league been beaten by individuals or teams in an unrelated league or sport? Was Annika Sorenstam chasing Jack Nicklaus'grand slam record? What's next, is some dyke going to outscore Pistol Pete? Whatever. Let the damn women's game stand on its own merits. If people give a sh*t, then so be it. From what I can tell, women's college hoops has a very limited popularity on a few college campuses, period. There is no national market for it.

I may sound sexist on this, but no matter how much I try to watch women's basketball, I simply find it boring. I find women's tennis, and track 'n field more exciting.

It's a WOMEN'S RECORD, not overall. NO WAY it can be compared to the 88-game winning streak of Bill Walton's UCLA. A 3rd Division Men's NCAA could whoop the best of women's NCAA, what more for a 1st division male team?

The weakest NBA team will destroy, the WNBA's best. It's like Serena Williams getting whooped by a top 50-100 male tennis player.

As I've been saying, a lot of black forwards "aren't GIANTS"... the Gators' Alex Tyus is another example.

IMO, he hasn't lived up to all the hype he got when he came out of high school in Missouri a few year's ago. Sometimes his stats will look alright, but he doesn't appear to be "anything special." So interchangable.. just like the forwards on the Memphis Tigers' usually are..

This is probably why there's "the African Invasion" into the NCAAs... Primarily, they are guys that can block shots and some are solid rebounders, but they usually don't provide much offense. Because, look at all the Afro-Americans that were way-overrated coming out of high school like Derrick Nix, Keith "Tiny" Gallon, Derrick Favors (deserves to be included), Al-Farouq Aminu (I think he was born in the USA; the Caste-heads constantly overrated him and Wake Forest constantly got "upset" in the Big Dance..), etc etc.

Now, I'm totally against the invasion of Africans, but it's probably happening because most Afro-Americans are "simply average" b-ballers and are "rarely GIANTS." It's kind of like how Eastern Euro ballers' often have superior length compared to White Americans.

There is a certain West African stock in some African Americans that could possibly be traced back to Senegal/Cameroon/Ivory Coast... (places where the PTB likes to "recruit" affletes and bring them to the USA) -- like Stromile Swift, Kevin Garnett, Anthony Randolph, Samuel Dalembert (born in Haiti), but, otherwise, there are so many mutts' like Michael Beasley that don't have great length or "chiseled-physiques." West African stock varies, of course, and most are primitives that look like Ewing or Kemp or Eddie Curry, and most of the male Jamaican sprinters.. and most of the Haitian population.

EDIT: I know that Stromile Swift was a bust, but I do think that he's genetically-close to a Sam Dalembert or KG. Swift's "basketball physique" definitely got the "scouts" all hot-and-bothered..
