2010-2011 Bowl Matchups

Another day, another group of bowl games. Starting off with the Central Florida/Clemson tilt. It's been a typically sloppy game with the overwhelmingly black lineups.

Just sped through a recap of the Nebraska/Washington game, and I've got to say that Taylor Martinez has regressed hugely over the course of the season. He looked extremely tentative on his runs, as if he's either still injured, or is afraid to run. Not a good thing, because his throwing is much worse than it was earlier. Unless he regains his confidence during the Spring, I think it's going to be Bubba Starling time in Lincoln next year. It doesn't help that his mostly black receiving corps also sucks. Time to bring in some of those white Nebraska/Iowa receivers.

Yep, and Jacory Harris has 3 INTs...in the first half!

Jacory Harris is a perfect 7 for 7. Not one of his throws has hit the ground. He's thrown 4 to his guys, and 3 to Notre Dame

The announcers have been talking about Miami's poor black quarterback play, bad decision-making, drops, mental lapses, lack of intensity, laziness, etc. They're almost to the truth. Just one more short leap and you're there.

Awesome UCF DE Bruce Miller had a great game against Georgia and helped the Golden Knights win their first FBS bowl game. I kind of wish Aaron Murray had won the game for UGA, but it was nice to see the (marginally) Whiter team win.

After losing today, both Clemson and Georgia finished with a 6-7 record.

And Thug U got smacked.. Maybe all these programs "need more great black affletes?"

No one is going to congratulate Jake Locker for leaving college as a winner of a Bowl Game?

Jake Locker played a decent game on the ground, although he was 5 for 16 through the air. I hope he gets a decent shot in the NFL, but this year didn't help his stock, imho. I would like to have seen Rex Burkhead and Taylor Martinez both get over 1,000 rushing.

From what I've read and heard from Husker fans, Taylor Martinez and his dad don't really care much about the team right now. The 'Huskers will be going nowhere fast with him at QB. He did good early in the year, but once teams figured him out, he didn't do a thing against teams like Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M (before he got hurt), or Washington. Granted he did play good against OSU and Mizzou, along with Washington, and the cupcakes early in the year.

From what I see of him on the sidelines, he doesn't really socialize with the rest of the players on the team. He's usually near the bench, not talking to anyone. From a leadership standpoint, he's certainly not a Drew Brees or Tim Tebow, that's for sure. That being said, I think he has potential, but he needs to be more of a leader, and work on his passing and knowledge of the offense. It's not just Martinez, the 'Husker offense is downright abyssmal, and their Big 10 initiation won't go very well next year unless something happens. As FootballDad said, Martinez has regressed a lot from early in the season, it also doesn't help that he never hits his best WRs (mulatto Kyler Reed and Mike McNeill) very much. Other than those two, the group is horrible.

Although I don't like the teams that the SEC teams have lost to at all, especially North Carolina, it's sure nice to see them at 0-3 at this point in the bowl games. So much for their "superiority".

Two more today on right now, with Penn State vs. Florida, and Mich State vs. Alabama.

with dual-threat quarterback Dan Persa (achilles)and explosive tailback Mike Trumpy (broken wrist) out with injuries, Northwestern's offense is really struggling ...

Wow, McGloin just threw a horrible pick for Penn State, his second of the day. McGloin isn't playing very well today.

Hopefully, MSU will be able to get back in the game against Alabama.

What the hell was McGloin thinking on his last throw? Should've been a pick 6 for the Gators. He looks awful.<div>

I was hoping Northwestern would do better against Texas Tech, but JC, you are right. They really miss Persa and Trumpy.

Paterno is almost clueless now as to what's going on. Time for him to hang it up.

Michigan is getting punked by Mississippi State. Starting to look like this may be it for Rich Rodriquez. Harbaugh may be coaching there next year.

Highlander, I think you are right about Paterno. His halftime comments were all over the place. Of course, the reporterette was annoying, and she called him "Joe." The least you can do is give the old man a little respect and call him Coach Paterno. I get tired of hearing these sportscasters referring to coaches by their first names, as if they really are good friends with them.

As for the Gator Bowl, I'd rather have never seen Rodriguez hired in the first place, but if he's going to be fired, it might as well be now.

Alabama is crushing Michigan State. I thought that game would have gone differently.

McGloin throws his 3rd pick, the Gator CB's have dropped another 4 potential INT's so far. McGloin is so careless with his throws. He's looking worse then Jacory Harris today. . . . . . .
