It looks like only 5 white starters for the 49ers. Three on the o line, Shaun Hill, and Justin Smith on defense.

According to rotowire the lone black O-lineman, Chilo Rachal, may be in jeopardy of losing his starting job to Tony Wraage. If that were to happen SF would join the Patriots and Packers with an all white starting O-line.

In an exchange of German surnamed white LB's niners place Ulbrich on IR and sign Matt Wilhelm. Also, Adam Snyder and black O-lineman Rachal are to share blocking duties next game, so at times Niners will have an all white line next Sunday.

Now if only the aging and injury prone Takeo Spikes would get hurt, rookie Scott McKillop would move into the starting lineup at one of the ILB spots next to Patrick Willis. . .

After seeing a group of assistant coaches, all black, hugging Mike Singletary at the end of San Fran's win over the Bears, I decided to check out the demographics of the 49ers coaching staff. The "World's Greatest Athletes" are apparently also the "World's Greatest Coaches" as well, as 8 of the team's coaches (40%) are black, 11 (55% are White), and 1 is asian (the strength coach, who looks Asian and White mixed). This is racism almost as blatant as that which occurs on the playing field. What's the endgame, only 25 percent of coaches being White, because that's how few players are White? If 75% of the coaches should be black, then so should 75% of GMs and owners but we know theNFL's executives and owners will never let the Caste System spread that far. Edited by: Don Wassall

Black offensive lineman Rachal left the 49ers Lions game with an injury and was replaced by white player Cody Wallace, so the 49ers had an all-white O-line at that point. Unfortunatly, unlike other teams with all white lines (Patriots and Packers) there arent' too many other white players around on this team, none as either a pass catcher or potential rusher.

49ers agreed to terms with OLB Travis LaBoy on a one-year, $1.6 million contract.

The injury-plagued LaBoy tore his biceps in 2008 and missed all of last season when the Cardinals cut him after a serious ankle surgery. A skilled pass rusher, LaBoy will help the Niners in situational packages if he can manage to stay off the shelf this year. Manny Lawson's future with the team remains up in the air.

Just like it doesn't seem to make sense that linebacker Joe Pawelek signed with Seattle, it's baffling that linebacker Keaton Kristick signed with San Francisco.

They had to have had offers from teams that would have been better fits? Heck, I think New Orleans needs some help at linebacker.

49ers undrafted rookie LB Keaton Kristick received probation and community service after pleading guilty to a lesser charge in his unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Kristick and two other Oregon State football players took an athletic department golf cart on a joyride, flipping it over, and leaving it in a handicapped parking space. Kristick was a first-team all-Pac 10 linebacker last season. He remains a longshot to make the 49ers' roster.

A ill-advised, yet funny prank gets him this blotter note. Big deal. Of course they use it as ammo against him because they hope to tag him as immature, no doubt. Yet if he was the typical afflete who is arrested for beating up his girlfriend, he has to be "understood".

Those close to contract-year OLB Manny Lawson believe he can attract "Calvin Pace-like" money as a free agent, according to beat writer Matt Maiocco. The Jets gave Pace a six-year, $42 million contract in March of 2008. Maiocco confirms that the Niners have no plans to give Lawson that kind of deal, especially after he lost his third-down duties to Ahmad Brooks last season. Lawson will have to re-prove himself this season before getting a new deal.



Another black flop will be rewarded anyway. This first round pick, a supposed "pass rushing specialist," has all of 12 sacks in 4 seasons (and just 5.5 in the last three years), to go along with a paltry 181 total tackles. But he willstill get big-timemoney in an affirmative action-riddled league in which mediocrity and worseis richly rewarded.

From Rotoworld: I guess the word "earn" is put in sarcastic quotes as it's just assumed that the team's young sumos are such superior talents to the Whites they are battling for starting jobs that they will effortlessly supplant them:

49ers first-round picks Mike Iupati and Anthony Davis worked with the
second-team offensive line during OTA practice Monday. The Nos. 17 and 11 overall picks, respectively,
will have to "earn" starting jobs this offseason, confirmed head coach Mike
Singletary. Iupati will attempt to unseat incumbent David Baas at left guard.
Davis' competition at right tackle consists of Adam Snyder, and perhaps Barry
Sims and Alex Boone.
