Hopefully Trevor Hoffman, the all-time saves leader, makes the NL All Star team. He picked up his 16th save in 16 tries tonight against the Indians. He's given up one run all season. At 41 years old, he's yet another white athlete with amazing longevity to go along with his sustained excellence.

BTW, the Brewers-Indians game tonight was a pitching travesty other than Hoffman and Mitch Stetter (another Brewers reliever), particularly the three black "hispanic" relievers the Indians trotted out, who turned a 12-7 lead into a 14-12 loss. I've seen better pitched little league games.

Some more non-whites stinking it up this season: Magglio Ordonez has been benched "indefinitely" by the Tigers; he has all of 2 HRs so far this season. Ordonez had his career season just two years ago but at 35 is struggling mightily.

Alfonso Soriano, who had a 40-40 season in 2006, is batting .225 with just 6 stolen bases and his on base percentage is a woeful .295 yet Lou Pinella continues to stubbornly bat him leadoff for the punchless Cubs. Soriano has been awful for the past five-plus weeks. Though he is admittedly a very streaky hitter, he appears to have lost a lot at 33, and being "latin" could easily be older than what he claims.

Dontrelle Willis, with a 1-4 record and a sparkling 7.49 ERA, is being placed on the 15 day DL with an "anxiety disorder." The Electric One, one of an endless parade of Great Black Pitching Hopes who have flamed out early, peaked in 2005 at the rather unadvanced age of 23.

I'm convinced that Magglio Ordonez is another one of the Venezuelan 'roid monster power hitters who can't do a damn thing now that he's aging and off the juice.

I would say Soriano is likely a couple of years older than his listed age. He started his career as a teenager in Japan, and I suspect he lied about his age, as so many other "Latin American stars" have over the years.

Dementia Train Willis is toast. Stick a fork in him. Good-bye and good riddance.

Is Raul Ibanez a white Latino? I know he was born in NYC is probably of Puerto Rican ancestry. I haven't seen enough of this "late bloomer" to tell if he is white or maybe white by a Latino definition.

On another note, Josh Beckett was lights out last night for the Red Sox in pitching a CG shutout.

And John Smoltz makes his Red Sox debut in a few days.

Sheffield hasn't had a good season since 2005 and was just .225/19/57 last year so hopefully he'll be a reserve with the Yankees.

I'm going to try and write a team by team rundown .... These teams all rate from majority White to overwhelmingly White. The Rays aren't really white friendly but are improved from last season.  Note: AL teams start 9 everyday players including DH, NL teams 8:

Red Sox: 7 white starters and 4 white starting pitchers

Rays: A little whiter this year with 3 white starters (4 if Jason Bartlett is white and not a white/black mix) plus 5 white starting pitchers

Orioles: 5 white starters, 3 white starting pitchers

I follow the Orioles closely (too bad for me) but their pitching staff is of the "overwhelmingly white" variety. And they've becomed pretty darned good after ejecting several extremely ******* "Latino" pitchers who were just God awful. For a few days, with Koji Uehara on the DL, the Orioles' pitching staff was entirely White. It was sweet to defeat the Nationals (worst franchise in Pro Sports) with their hideous afro-caribbean ball chucker. The O's have two almost-white pitchers as well: First is Jeremy Guthrie, who is most obviously half oriental; and David Hernandez, a mixture of Mestizo and White but who acts and looks White. Koji Uehara is not a bad fellow, and I'm ready to take on a Japanese player ANYDAY to replace a repulsive American Black with an attitude.

Jamie Moyer won his 252nd career victory today, moving into 45th place all-time, ahead of . . . Bob Gibson.

The casual fan probably thinks Gibson's win total ranks among the highest among post-WWII pitchers, given how he is always mentioned whengreat pitchersis the topic. In reality, in the era in which Gibson pitched -- the '60s and early '70s -- Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver and Jim Palmer all had better careers, and a strong case can be made for Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro and Don Sutton as well. Even Ferguson Jenkins, the black Canadian, had a better career than Gibson.

That was some ending to the mutt-yank game last night. Leave it to a black or hispanic to louse things up at exactly the wrong time. At least, in my life, I saw baseball the way it should be played. When I was young, the worst guy on the worst team in the majors was good. Now, you've got a bunch of sadsacks running around like a bunch of gerbils getting paid millions of dollars to mess up. Tom Iron...
<div> </div>
<div>Mark Teixiera ran hard on that dropped pop fly, scoring all the way from first to win the game.  That's what he was supposed to do, but I wonder how many of the non-whites force-fed into baseball would have done the same.  A casual attitude has too often replaced hustle in baseball and fundamentals have been allowed to be thrown to the wayside for the greater cause of diversity.</div>
I havent watched pro baseball since the early 90's and im not sure if the play was this bad or I was just a kid and didnt notice it. I have been watching a few games this year and most of the players are pathetic. There is no hustle. A fly ball or line drive that could be caught if someone is running full pace at it is frequently turned into hits and batted in runs as the outfielders jog for it instead or they cant judge where it is in the air, or they dont know how to properly go after a ground ball and it gets past them, these are fundamentals you learn as a kid that these pros dont seem to remember half of the time. If i had played this half ass as some of these pro players in a LITTLE league PRACTICE i would have had to run laps and then I would have had to deal with my Dad wondering why i was half assing it out there. Fortunately didnt happen much to me because I usually hustled but I remember my brother having to run tons of laps because he didnt try half the time. I cant believe players are getting payed this much to play this bad.

A few days ago, I happened to catch ESPN Classic's Sportcentury episode on Steve Carlton, who started his career with the Cardinals. Tim McCarver said that Carlton "learned a lot from Bob Gibson about how to act and how to pitch." Indeed, there is probably something to this, but Gibson always comes in to these discussions as you say.

I have previously pointed out on the Forum that Gibson's fame rests on having his best games on TV during the World Series. A funny thing is that Gibson would frequently blow off reporters when they asked for an interview. It didn't prevent him from being called the best pitcher of the era. Sandy Koufax is the only contemporary who is sometimes rated ahead of him.

Mark Buehrle just completed a perfect game, only the 16th ever in MLB history. If memory serves, he threw a no-hitter just two years ago before today's gem.

The MLB channel is just as bad as espn,Mark Buehrle's fine performance was minimized by announcers Harold Reynolds and Matt Vascursion on a Thursday night broadcast, playing up the fine catch of De Wayne Wise, and the calling of the game by catcher Castro.

Throwing 2 no hitters for Buehrle puts him with some elite company now. I've always respected Buehrle for the fact he has played his whole career with the White Sox through all the up and down years.

This is how the local zionist fishwrap (Las Vegas Review-Journal) covered it here:

The headline on the first page of the sports section is -- "Big Hand for Sox's Feat."

Above it are three pictures showing Wise's catch. And the word "hand" in the headline is there as a referenceto again recognize Wise and his bare-handed grab. And notice how the word "Sox's" is substituted for "Buehrle's" to again downplay Buehrle and emphasize that only Wise ("the team") made it possible. I have never before heard of a team throwing a perfect game rather than a pitcher. Did the "Yankees" throw a perfect game in the 1956 World Series, or was it Don Larsen?

And below the headline is a picture of Buehrle about to hug his catcher, with the sub-heading "Chicago's Buehrle pitches perfect game, aided by Wise's barehanded catch." Buehrle couldn't be completely ignored, but once again Wise gets equal or superior billing.

The article continues on Page 4 with the headline "White Sox fan Obama calls with congratulations."

So out of a total of 3 headlines and sub-headlines,the man who threw only the 16th perfect game everis mentioned in one, while Wise gets mentioned directly or indirectly in two, and gets the three prominent photographs above the main headline. Too bad Buehrle didn't have better intuition yesterday and pitched in blackface. Edited by: Don Wassall

I just knew this was going to happen the minute I heard he threw a no hitter after the Ozzie Guillen being a racist flap. They were so hoping for anything that they could find to praise Wise in light of it.

This is the kind of thing that really irritates me the most about the media, and shows their insidious Marxist nature.

Oh well Congrats Buehrle, and congrats to my adopted team, the St Louis Cardinals who just picked up Matt Holliday. St Louis has become and equal opportunity employer in regards to white players over the course of Tony LaRussa's tenure. Here is hoping that Holliday pushes them over the top and allows them to make a serious run in the National league pennant hunt. Edited by: Bear Backer

Its no surprise that this amazing accomplishment by a finely tuned white athlete would be ignored or downplayed in such a fashion. I haven't heard a word about it, granted I don't have ESPN anymore.

While I've never been a baseball fan, my father in law is a Cardinals fan and I've taken to listen to some of their games online, more as background noise than anything. I'm glad they are whiter than a lot of teams (starting 7 right now), and its fun to root for them over the very dark arch-rival Cubs. My father in law can't stand them. Hopefully the Cards will keep getting better in regards to white players.

Congrats to old high school buddy and classmate, Mark Buehrle!

Making St. Charles County and Francis Howell North proud! He's a good guy and deserves the good press written about him. The guy never stopped pitching even when he didn't make the high school team in his sophomore. Coach Dunahue kept working with him and helped Mark become who he is. Way to go Mark!

Getting back to Buehrle and Wise: I'm playing devil's advocate here, but would we CF'ers be complaining on the same level, if at all, over the amount of ink and headlines Wise's catch drew if he were Caucasian like Buehrle?

No, because if he were white, Wise's catch wouldn't have been given equal (or even superior) status to Buehrle's extremely rare feat. The catch deserved prominent mention, especially because it was made in the 9th innning, but not to the degree it has. Rusty Greer made a great diving catch in the 9th inning to preserve Kenny Rogers' perfect game in 1994, but that catch was not made as big a story as the perfect game itself, as has been the case with Wise.
