2009 European Junior Champs.

This is the Euro Junior Championships. It's only for the young ones. Cerutti is already 23 years of age. Lemaitre, Guliyev, and Herring are all only 19 years old.
 
report from day one said Ramil ran a 10.58 and Christophe 10.44 (was the fastest).there was a italian that ran 10.51 but he could be black.
 
Lemaitre was was the fastest semifinal qualifier with I believe a 10.26 into a negative 1.3 m/s headwind. Thats a pretty smoking time considering the headwind and its only a semifinal. Ramil qualified and won his heat with I think a 10.69 into the same headwind. He's taking it real real easy and just gearing up to be the first white man to break 10 in the final! He knows his goal and it happens to be the same as ours, sub 10 baby!
 
Within 24 hours it is possible that two white men will have broken 10, possibly three. I am so excited and if WL can find a feed or someone else to the finals that would be awesome. With 2 m/s behind them, both will break 10.
 
Possibly three white guys below 10 flat? Is there someone else besides Lemaitre and Guliyev at these championships we don't about?
 
It would be good to watch the three in the same race.

From my viewpoint, we kicked some but in the rounds. We have 6 out of 8 sprinters in the final who are white. Including 2 out of 3 from the U.K. Max Galliers and Andrew Robertson still have alot of good upside along with their fellow teammate. I'm still trying to find a link but the only feed I've found won't work in the US. I will let you guys know if anything comes up. If not, we will have to wait for youtube.com.
I have a feeling that Lemaitre may pull the upset tommorow. He looks really sharp. Guliyev has to save himself with the rounds of the 200 starting very soon after the 100 finals. I hope they both go sub 10! That would make my weekend.

Still no link for the results but the wind was only .02 and Lemaitre won easily. Ramil Guliyev took the silver running a very fast 10.16 as well! So I was right. I predicted the upset with Christophe setting a p.b. with no help from the wind. It the wind had only been descent, Lematire would have already made history.

As it is, Christophe Lemaitre has broken the European Junior Record! I'm so fricking pumped up. I'm bouncing off the walls. A toast to both of these young studs. Especially to Pepe Leflew! Way to go Christophe. Viva La Lemaitre!

Andrew Robertson is the real deal. Maybe the next Pickering! Hey guys. Hit the back link on the live video link I gave you. You will be able to back up the meet a section at a time to eventually find the race and watch it like it's live. Then you can also see the medal ceremony afterwards. It might bring tears to your eyes! I'm so happy right now.

I'm sorry it's not working for you brother. If I can find a way to post the race I will. If not just enjoy the meet. The womens 200 rounds are on now and the mens will be up next. I do feel bad for Ramil Guliyev. I know he was expecting the gold. Both of these guys have moved into my top 3 favorite sprinters. I love them all.

This 10.04 European Junior Record with no wind by a clearly white young man is the single best news for whites in track I've seen since I began follwoing track and field 3 years ago! I'm absolutely ecstatic right now! He will break 10 and then some there's not a doubt about it. If not this year then in the next and then he's just getting started because Lemaitre has still got a decade of illustrious career left!

I took the day off for this! Herring & Ramil will be running the rounds of the 200m soon. all I need is Pick to drop a nice PR today and it will be a great day!
 
Herring just won his heat in 20.57 looking very good.

I'm falling in love with some of these ladies. I've now switched over to the Crystal Palace Meet. It is live and Nicola Sanders just won the 400 meters!
