It IS nice that LSU has Hester and Steltz.

BUT,

every Man in the country should be pulling for a team from the "slow" Big Ten to beat the hell out of a team from the "athletic" SEC.

Ohio has always been a hotbed for White football talent, and our Guys tend to play in the Big Ten.

THANK YOU!!! Nordic Sarptan!! This game is about putting to rest the stupid stereotypes of the slow lumbering white man form the the north; that can't keep up with the super fast southern black guys. This "SEC speed" b.s. has got to stop. I thought it might end when OSU best Miami in 2002 but I guess I was wrong. I'm sick and tired of hearing how "slow" the Big Ten schools are. What a bunch of crap. I would love to see Hartline toast the LSU secondary on a deep ball. These southerns couldn't last through a rough freezing snowy ass winter up here in Big 10 country!

Well instead of sulking over another national championship loss Jim T has hit the recruiting trail hard for his 2008 class. Tressel has recruited a lot of non-offensive lineman white talent. Take a look:

WR Jacob Stoneburner describing he will indeed NOT be a TE in college

DT Garret Goebel: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=3008061

DB Zach Domicone: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=3062544

TE Nic DiLillo: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2428288

MLB Andrew Sweat: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2339478

DE Nathan Williams: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2833265

Ohio State also added a white kicker and 2 o-linemen

nice info CB, appreciate that!

Yeah I'm pretty pleased about Stoneburner not being converted to the appropriate caste position of TE. You know a lot of schools out there(Florida St., Oklahoma, the SEC in general) would make him a TE right away without ever considering he runs a sub 4.5 40. So with this great news it means Ohio St will have 3! scholarship white WRs on the team next year in Hartline, Sanzenbacher, and now Stoneburner. I can't recall the last time the Buckeyes had 3 scholarship white WRs. It was probably back in the early 70s when Woody was in charge.

It's nice that osu has consistently had a white receiver for a while now, starting with Gonzalez, then Hartline, then Sanzenbacher and now Stoneburner. Hopefully Hartline and Sanzenbacher have good seasons. Would be nice to see a 3 WR set with all three guys!

Stoneburner was listed in the Akron Beacon Journal as a TE recruit for Ohio St. Sorry gentlemen.

There is 0% chance he plays TE. His coaches and himself have all said that a number of times, despite the "expert" opinion of recruiting services.

Perhaps 0 is a little extreme. It is a white guy we're talking about. Ohio State isn't exactly Arkansas though. I'd say 5-10%

At 6-4 1/2 or 6-5 and220 pounds, he's a good candidate for "conversion" but hopefully the OSU coaching staff will make a sane move and keepthe 4.46 speedsterat WR.

Amen, Reb. With that height and speed Stoneburner could be a white Plaxico Burress except faster.

I mean are you guys serious? Did you even read the article I linked on this thread. Darrel Hazel the Ohio St WR coach said flat out that Stoneburner is a WR!!! The Akron Beacon Journal probably got all their recruiting information from flamer sites such as scout or rivals.

Yes everything recently has said from him and the coaches has explicitly stated that he will be exclusively used as a WR. It's funny because back in the fall I was talking with a self-professed OSU college football guru (white guy), and I said that Stoneburner would be a good addition at WR for Ohio State. He responded, "No, he's a Tight-End." I said, there's a possibility that he's receiver, to which he replied "No, he'll be a good Tight End." Just shows you how entrenched caste views are!

I know I've had to deal with these idiots as well. I told a friend I was kind of pissed off because over half of OSU's recruiting class was out of state. He responded by telling me he was glad because maybe we're going south to get some of that "southern speed" aka black players. I had to level into to him that we won a national championship with half our defense featuring white guys and that there's no difference between Ohio players and southern athletes(black guys) its just the coaching that gives those SEC teams an advantage.

Terrelle Pryor, the nation's top-ranked high school quarterback according to the ESPN 150 and the top unsigned senior, announced that he'll attend Ohio State at the news conference at his high school in Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

While we have always said no one player makes a recruiting class, this is a pretty big fish for the Ohio State Buckeyes if Pryor pans out. He is the kind of player in today's game who physically can give you every element you want in your offense and scheme.

It will be very intriguing to see how he fits in the interim and long term as far as OSU tweaking its scheme to his abilities. The Buckeyes had experience doing so before with Troy Smith, but while Smith was a much better passer than Pryor, Pryor is the superior runner and must develop as a passer.

This move will escalate Ohio State above USC in our final class rankings, to the No. 6 spot, with a total of eight ESPN 150 prospects. Quarterback was a pivotal position the Buckeyes had to address, and in Pryor they get one to build around both in talent and scheme. Whether Pryor realizes it or not, this is the best move he could have made for his future.

Pressure isn't high in Columbus with Todd Boeckman and 20 starters returning, which allows Pryor to develop as a passer without being thrown to the wolves right away. He could have a role much like Tim Tebow did at Florida as a freshman, where they gave him doses of the offense and sprinkled him in the game for a chance for early success.

How Pryor adjusts to the steep jump in talent and develops in the passing game will ultimately determine his success throughout his tenure as a Buckeye.
-- Tom Luginbill, Scouts Inc.

- Top 25 Recruiting Classes

"When I called Coach Tress he welcomed me to the Ohio State family," said Pryor, who made his decision hours before the announcement.

His decision comes six weeks after the Feb. 6 national signing day when seniors normally sign their binding national letter and four days after the Jeannette Jayhawks made WPIAL history by winning the PIAA Class AA state boys' basketball championship. In December, the school won the state football title. No other Western Pennsylvania school has pulled off that unthinkable double.

Pryor was the central figure in both championship runs.

"The sky's the limit to athleticism," said Tom Luginbill, the national football recruiting coordinator for Scouts, Inc. "He draws comparisons to Vince Young who can save a play on the run and has the ability to improvise."

The two-time Pennsylvania player-of-the-year chose Ohio State over Oregon, Penn State and Michigan. But it really came down to blood rivals Ohio State and Michigan.

Pryor initially delayed his college decision because he did not devote adequate time to the recruiting process. After winning a football championship on Dec. 14, he jumped into basketball season. Charlie Batch, the Pittsburgh Steelers' backup quarterback, became an advisor. Batch, who has known Pryor since he was 12 years old, wants to "point out things he might not see" during the recruiting process.

During the press conference, Batch was texting Pryor from Hawaii.

"It's six hours earlier there (Hawaii), but he's cool with my decision and he'll be a part of the family soon and he'll work me out," Pryor said.

He asked for more time but failed to officially visit two of the four finalists because of the overlap of football and basketball.

Last weekend at the Class AA basketball final in State College, Pa., Pryor knew a decision was imminent. He said he would "sign [the national letter] and just get it over with."

He also eliminated two schools but failed to mention them.

One of the schools he tossed aside was Penn State, where he forged a solid relationship with defensive coordinator Tom Bradley. Ultimately, Happy Valley was no place for a city kid.

"I don't like that place," he said of Penn State's rural location. "It's the country but they were in it."

He discounted Oregon "because it's across the country. I have a father and (high school) coaches here who can drive three hours to see me play rather than watch it on TV."

As for Michigan, recently hired Head Coach Rich Rodriguez put on full press coverage to sway Pryor and in the end was difficult to say no. "Coach Rod was still recruiting me this morning, saying all the things," he said.

Pryor sought the advice of NFL personnel regarding Michigan's spread offense, the same one Rodriguez popularized at West Virginia. The feedback was positive that it would prepare him for the NFL but it wasn't enough to change his mind.

Pryor's future coach, Tressel, fielded several questions on Feb. 6 about landing a quarterback before April 1. Though he never mentioned Pryor by name (NCAA rules forbid a coach from commenting on a recruit who hasn't signed with his school), Tressel remained optimistic, saving a scholarship after signing 19 players.

"I think we had planned on having a quarterback in this class and so, yeah, in a perfect, let's make a perfect world, let's get a quarterback in this class, and our plans would be further along," he said.

Consider it done.

The commitment also bolsters Ohio State's 2008 recruiting class, making it eight ESPN 150 prospects in the fold. The Buckeyes now leapfrog Southern California for the No. 6 recruiting class in ESPN's 2008 college football prospect rankings.

"The quarterback position was a real need for Ohio State," Luginbill said. "They were able to fulfill it late."

Ohio State signed three Top-100 offensive linemen, Michael Brewster (Edgewater-Orlando, Fla., No. 42 in the ESPN 150), J.B. Shugarts (Klein-Spring, Texas, No. 56) and Mike Adams (Coffman-Dublin, Ohio, No. 88), who will be Pryor's future protectors.

Pryor's signing doesn't necessarily mean he'll start at quarterback or become the "instant savior." That's because Todd Boeckman, a 6-5 senior from St. Henry, Ohio, returns. Boeckman guided the 11-2 Buckeyes to the BCS National Championship Bowl, throwing for 2,379 yards and 25 touchdowns, while completing nearly 64 percent of his passes.

"Terrelle will be in a great situation from the start," Luginbill said. "Ohio State has an accomplished quarterback and 20 starters back. Terrelle will be utilized like Tim Tebow at Florida as a freshman where he was brought into situations which didn't create failure; he'll have doses of the offense.

"He still needs to beat you on the college level with his arm. In high school, he did it with his legs, not necessarily by passing. He needs to become a quarterback as opposed to an athlete who is a quarterback," he added.

With two PIAA state championship trophies residing at Jeannette High, thus ends one the great prep careers in state history.

Pryor, the No. 4-rated player in the ESPN 150, has left a legacy:

- In football, he became the first Pennsylvania player to pass and rush for more than 4,000 yards.

- In basketball, he concluded with a school-record 2,285 points, eighth all-time on the WPIAL career scoring charts.

- He helped the Jayhawks win back-to-back WPIAL football championships, advancing to the last two PIAA Class AA title games, triumphing this season.

- He scored 23 points and had eight rebounds in the PIAA Class AA final as the Jayhawks held off Strawberry Mansion of Philadelphia, 76-72, in overtime. The Jayhawks went 30-2 and won the WPIAL title.

- The football team went 30-2 over the last two seasons, including 16-0 this season.

- The basketball squad went 53-9 in his junior and senior season as Pryor, an all-state selection, topped the Jayhawks in most statistical categories.

Pryor, a rare 6-6, 230-pound physical specimen, will concentrate on football at Ohio State.

"Everyone says he's a can't-miss player," Jeannette Head Coach Ray Reitz said. "Not too many 6-foot-6 athletes can run a sub 4.3 40 [yard dash]."

His football numbers this fall were eye-catching but might have been eye-popping if the Jayhawks weren't so dominant, registering lopsided scores.

Pryor ran for 1,901 yards and 33 touchdowns on 142 carries, averaging 13.4 yards. He completed 85 of 124 passes for 1,790 yards and 21 touchdowns and had caught one TD pass.

He saved his best for last.

In the PIAA 2A final, he ran for 209 yards and three TDs and completed 3 of 4 passes for 83 yards and a TD and caught a 28-yard scoring strike in a 49-21 blowout of Dunmore.

Mark my words he will be a bust at Ohio State you can't teach an athlete to be a quarterback that running around and beating people with your feet works at the high school level not in college and certainly not in the Pros. Terrelle Pryor will be nothing more than an after thought at the college level just like Xavier Lee at Florida State last I remember he can't even beat out Drew Weatherford. This negroe waited to make his decision because he wants to remain important. The brothas thrive on being in the spot light aside from their exposure to sports most other time is spent dodging child support and the police blotters . I predict very soon Pryor will be doing both. Remember you can take the kid out of the ghetto but not the ghetto out of the kid.

Now that he's finally announced, I guess the nation can take a deep breath and get back to the other earth-shaking issues of the day. Pryor's a prima donna a-hole, I'm looking forward to seeing him flop like so many other black quarterbacks prematurely worshipped by the Caste media. That's if he isn't arrested on a felony charge or three first.

You can't compare the pros to college. There's too much speed in the pros to successfully run the option, or even spread option. But to say it doesn't work post high school would be to ignore the collegiate success of Tommy Frazier, Scott Frost,Eric Couch, Michael Vick, Vince Young, Armanti Edwards, Kellen Lewis, et al.Dennis Dixon would have been the Heisman winner, and he and Pat White would have faced each other in the National Championship had they not been injured.

Rich Rodriguez said other coaches have been ringing his phone off the hookseeking advice on how to properly runthe system, and more dual threat QB's are being recruited because of it's effectiveness.

Your point is you lost to me you moron. What did Michael Vick ever win besides a dog fighting wager, and he is supposed to be the best athlete playing quarterback of all time. If you can't drop back and read defenses and make quick thinking decisions with the football like a general commanding his troops has to do in war then your probably not going to be a good quarterback at the college or pro level. Blacks can't stay in the pocket and face down the rush and deliver the football at the last possible second ala Dan Marino. Because their instinct is to tuck the ball and run to safety. This is why blacks have never won on an organized battle feild for that matter. Once the bullets start flying it's every man for himself. just like on the football feild. They can't ever stick to the game plan and execute without panicking or running scared in the pocket. Call it what you want but this Capogne is the truth. This is why whites will always be better quarterbacks than the blacks case closed. Edited by: White Power

I'm surprised that OSU went for this guy. Tressell has always had somewhat smart QB's that could execute his gameplans and know they've gone in another direction. As a Michigan fan I'm glad it worked out this way. We get McGuffie and OSU gets Pryor. HA! At least he's going to a college with an acedemic tradition that matches his skills.

Haha, gettinga little emotional, no?Michael VIck was one of the greatest college football players of all time. He was 20-1 as a starter. That lone loss was in the 1999 National Championship game against Florida State after an his 11-0 freshman season. Heled the nation in passing efficiency, and won numerousawards for his play including Big East Freshman andPlayer of the year, the Archie Griffin MVP, a Heisman invite, and theGator Bowl victor's trophy and game MVP.

You must be confused.

You are the confused one, Capone. You live in the past. The 1999 National Championship game? Come on, that's a decade ago. Coaches have easily learned to make adjustments to one dimensional quarterbacks like Vick. Look at the top QB prospects who will be drafted in April. Matt Ryan, Chad Henne, Brian Brohm, Joe Flacco, John David Booty, Eric Ainge, Colt Brennan, and Paul Smith, all these men are prototypical NFL QBs.

The fact is that QBs who run a lot will be pounded by today's defenses. Defensive players (in the NCAA and NFL) are out to hurt QBs, and when they get the chance, they will absolutely pound QBs who run in the open field. Look at the toll Vick's body took, the man was still young but clearly had lost speed and elusiveness due to getting crushed for years.

Capone, just the fact that you have to refer back to Tommie Frazier proves my point. He played in 1994.

Important aspects of the pro game always trickle down to the college game. Capone, the speed that you mention that is so prevalent in the NFL is now the focal point of the college game.

If Pryor is not incarcerated, he may have a few good games against teams like Northwestern. But when everything is on the line and Ohio State needs a leader to win a crucial game, Pryor will not be the man who delivers. This I can guarantee.
