I'm watching the game, but have turned the sound off. Gumball just does not have the voice or style needed to make the game exciting. Collinsworth is trying to be too clever and his predictions have backfired as usual. Deion Sanders sounds more like J.J. (Dynomite) Walker every year. So far, the Packers haven't deviated from the script of the last dozen or so years. Go to Dallas, play like stupid retards and lose.

Watching Packers RB Ryan Grant run has reminded how succesful Luke Staley could have been in the NFL. Grant isn't that shifty at all, he just makes a cut and runs foward or he makes an effort to fight for extra yardage, yet he is an effective runner. I was pretty young and didn't watch as much football when Staley played, but after seeing highlights, Staley appeared to be the same type of player, only much stronger and faster. He made a cut, stuck with it, then flat out outran the opposition. Damn shame. I think he would've been a top 5 back in the NFL. I know he's been discussed before, but his lost potential really hit me even harder just now.

Couldn't agree more, especially about Gumbel. He has a weak, nasal voice with no emotion or passion, simply horrible for calling a game. He continually messes up basic descriptions of what's going on, too. This gig must be a sinecure given to him for decades of unflagging service to the corporate media and its anti-white agenda.

I agree with everyone's sentiments regarding Gumbel as well. He mixed up the teams when he spoke, referring to the Packers when he meant the Cowboys and vice versa. He said at one point that the Packers rely on their front four to give them coverage, etc. He doesn't seem to know much about football or how to speak about it intelligently.

There were a few times during the game where it seems Collinsworth was deliberately trying to stir up controversy where there wasn't any. We were talking about it during the game, and came to the conclusion that these guys must think they are paid to just make stuff up so the jock sniffers will have something to talk about tomorrow, not to mention to create more interest in the game the next time the Cowboys - Packers play again. Just like a controversial decision in boxing.

And how about Aaron Rodgers. He looked really good to me. Favre and his head coach looked a bit rattled. Why would you waste a challenge on the Cowboys' first drive if all you are going to get is an incomplete pass? And I get the feeling, for all the talk of how Favre is a warrior, that he didn't want to come back into the game when he thought it was going to be a blowout. Just like McNabb versus the Patriots last week.

I believe that if Favre had come back into the game the Packers would have lost in a blowout. It seemed like Favre was going back to his wild gunslinger days instead of playing the game that had brought the Packers this far in the first place. Once Rodgers came in and started running the offense like it was supposed to run, the Packers did well.

And how over rated is Al Harris? You can't cover a receiver if you constantly have your back to him. His coverage of T.O. was ridiculously bad. I wonder how much T.O. paid him to let him get that wide open a dozen times in the same game. He got beat like a dread-headed step child.

I was thinking the same thing during the game, Nevada.

Personally, I only support Favre because he's considered a "legend" white QB. Trust me, that's the ONLY reason to root for this egocentric, race-trading a$$hole. There are about 100 reasons to hate Favre, and they're all been discussed in great detail here at CF (giving homosexual Michael Strahan the sack record was the preverbal straw for me).

I actually hope he retires after this season so Rodgers can finally take over. I think he has a real gutsy attitude and I love how he runs the ball when he gets the chance!

Do you guys realize how much power Favre has in "choosing" and "influencing" the WR's and TE's that come to Green Bay? I think we all know the "type" of guys he wants around (certainly not Bill Schroeder).

yeah, and he spent a year on Giants practice squad too. the difference is, that they kept him around and gave him a shot. no doubt in my mind Lumsden, Englehart and of course Staley (although here injuries played a part) could have been just as, or more, succesful in the NFL
