Missing RBs from Lemming's Top 30?

I think that Bo Snelson should be getting some consideration. He was only the most productive rusher in SE Texas for the last two years, despite being moved to QB halfway through his senior year. Christine Michael (black RB) is a 5 star recruit from Beaumont, just down the road from...

I forgot to put him in the section for Friendswood. He is very talented TE.

    Texas HS Football 2008

This is an article from this morning's Houston Chronicle about the Katy Tigers and recruiting. Tapong, who is mentioned in the article, is one of the three black kids that started for Katy, but the Caste system is heavily implied in the article. On the Outside Looking In On the outside...

Logan Rowe from The Woodlands committed to Division II Colorado School of Mines. This kind of surprised me because he had some D1 offers. Good luck to him.

    RB/DB -- Reid Fitzgerald

Honestly, that is probably a fair ranking.

    RB/DB -- Reid Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald is talented, but he plays in a league that is very weak. The private school league in Texas, unlike in other states, is not even close in the level of competition as the public school leagues. Occasionally, a player comes out of this league that is very talented, like Gary Kubiak...

Why was Sam McGuffie so highly recruited?

In the Houston area, people started following McGuffie when, as a soph, he ran for over 200 yds in a playoff game. That got everyone's attention down here that follow high school football. He then followed that up in the offseason with his incredible showing at the Nike camp (4.32 40, 3.8...

    Non-Letterman Players

Actually, varsity is a term from a by-gone era. Years ago, before the days of redshirting and scholarship limits, freshmen that didn't play on varsity, played on a freshman team that would play other freshman college teams. Therefore, you could be a freshman, that played in games (non-varsity...

    Non-Letterman Players

To earn a letter, you have to play in a game for a certain number of plays (6 or 8 I believe). I was a former walk-on player and was able to earn 2 varsity letters at Texas A&M, mainly as a special teams player. Most of my fellow walk-ons never earned a letter, but there are a lot of nice...

    Andre Gautreaux and Turner Petersen

Gautreaux is a stud. He played at nearby (to me) Friendswood HS and was a dominant WR and kick returner. Having seen him play, he is faster than 4.50 in the 40. In the La Marque game, he ran past their black DBs all night long, to the tune of over 400 yds in receiving and return yds. With...

    Texas HS Football 2008

It was a good season for all white or mostly white teams in Texas. Katy repeated as champions in 5A as did Austin Lake Travis in 4A. Prosper won the 3A championship with one black and the rest white starting players. It goes to prove our point at Caste Football. In a football crazy state...

    Chad Schroeder Texas A&M??

Here's a short bio on him. Schroeder was an all state QB for Austin Westlake HS, where his dad was the coach. He was a very fast high school player who ran a 10.42 100m and a 4.37 40 at the Emfinger camp. He was recruited by Texas A&M and was converted to a WR. At A&M, he was very...

    RB/S - Rex Burkhead

I think that this is a good pick for Rex. Nebraska started Josh Davis about 5 years ago at RB and have been white friendly until Callahan got there. From everything that I read, Burkhead insisted that he play RB and wasn't interested in being moved to another position.

    Sam McGuffie

This is what most of the people down here in Texas are saying about McGuffie, Cy Fair Grad Leans to the Aggies It is probably about a 75% chance that he goes to the Aggies.

    Texas HS Football 2008

Update: I went to watch the 5A Semifinal game today with Smithson Valley against Katy. Katy dominated 41-19. I haven't mentioned Katy much this year because they haven't been impressive, barely making it into the playoffs. They are now playing very good football and will be playing for the...

    Texas doesn't want him.

    Sam McGuffie

I have mixed feelings about McGuffie going to A&M. With Swope and possibly Burkhead coming in from high school to compete with Sam at RB, someone is going to get left out. Then you have Tannehill, Beyer, and Holland all young WR competing for playing time. It would be great if all of these...

    RB/S - Rex Burkhead

Burkhead squeaks into the latest edition of the Rivals250 at #238, http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=880&Year=2009&r a_key=2073. He is the only white offensive skill player (non QB) in the 250. How Wegher didn't make it in is beyond me.Edited by: SteveB

    Brandon Wegher

Wow, I was checking to see how Wegher finished up his senior season and his numbers were incredible. 14 games, 362 att, 3238 yds (new Iowa state record), 51 TDs He lead his team to the 3A State Championship. Iowa got a good one.

    HS Junior runs 10.36

I think we have to keep in mind that there are over 100 Division 1A track programs in the country. Each program recruits 2 or more sprinters every year. If a kid can run under 10.7 consistently, he would rank in the top 100 sprinters nationwide and should be given the opportunity to run for a...

    Anybody got video editing skills?

If the video is available in mpeg, avi, or wmv formats, it is pretty easy (but time consuming) to edit the videos using various software packages available. I don't think that you can download a Youtube video in any of those formats.

    Sam McGuffie

Actually, I used Florida as an example because Meyer and Rodriguez run the exact SAME OFFENSE. If smaller backs with speed work within that offense (ie. Florida or Slaton and Devine when Rodriguez was at WVU), then McGuffie is the perfect back for Michigan. Do you think that Rodriguez is going...

    Sam McGuffie

Not to mention that all of the leading rushers for the SEC champion (except for Tebow) Florida Gators would be considered "too small" by Osgood. 1. Chris Rainey - 655 rushing yds, 5'-9", 185 lbs 2. Jeffrey Demps - 582 rushing yds, 5'-8", 176 lbs 3. Tim Tebow - 564 rushing yds, 6'-3", 240...

    Sam McGuffie

I am not surprised that Sam wants to transfer closer to home. It happens many times when a kid goes to a school a long ways from home. His parents aren't able to come to see him play, his friends are at a school closer to home, holidays become a big travel hassle as well as an economic issue...
