    Josh Taylor

Wasn't on my radar. I used to read all the boxing mags so I was up to snuff on who was who. But the good ol' boxing mags slowly died out one by one and I'm not so up do date. Plus there are so many good white fighters now it's hard to follow them till they hit it big. But this guy is good. I...

Maybe some high level corruption involved with the hit being coordinated with his transfer.

    NFL News, Rumors and Musings

Ran into a guy told me about this only he said it was a 2nd round pick. I thought that was too high a pick to give up for a snake in the grass but this guy can't listen for ****. I'm seldom able to finish a sentence in a conversation with him. Turns out it was a 7th round pick. I think the Pack...

That last drive by the Packers was ridiculously easy. Rogers was just playing catch with his receivers.

    2018 NFL Week 8

"White Bright and Polite." It's a phrase that was making the rounds years ago. I think it was a comment on the increasing rarity of such in certain sports. At the time it was considered an asset to have some of those on the team. A stereotype that doesn't apply to all white athletes of course...

    2018 NFL Week 8

Watching some of the Rams-Packers. Both teams getting away with pass interference. One favorite move is to grab a jersey for just a couple seconds. Refs don't catch it but the camera does. A couple even more blatant pre-catch tackles not called as if by design. I feel a Bigunreal moment coming...

    Sergey Derevyanchenko

Sergei gave a good account of himself in a good back and forth fight but Jacobs had the edge. The Ukrainian was aggressive but tentative much of the fight. Seemed like he got tagged a lot at the end of exchanges when he would just let his head hang there a split second too long. Jacobs went in...

    Synagogue Shooting

It's telling that **** like this is going to sway people one way or the other. They don't vote according to ideas or principles. They vote on emotionalism or the last media story they saw that made the biggest impression on them.

    Sergey Derevyanchenko

Jacobs is a very good fighter, but somewhat shopworn. Still it looks like he has a good height and reach advantage. This is a big step up for Sergei. Jacobs is strong and skilled. Sergei's mid range combinations could be just the ticket.

Participation in High School Football Down in North Carolina

High school football seems to be down here in Northern California. The buzz just isn't there like it was say up to maybe ten years ago. And a lot of the smallest schools have gone to eight man football. I watched a large school game last Friday and they didn't seem to have as many players on the...

    2018 NFL Week 6

On a pre-game show the question was who would have a better game Brady or Mahomes. Kurt Warner rather sheepishly chose Brady. One of Warner's co-hosts shares an immediate text from Warner's son calling him an idiot for not picking Mahomes. That's a good little boy there.

Been a Packer fan over the years. Looks like the wheels are coming off. And I don't care.

    The Trump Era Begins

Just watched rodent faced Chris Wallace try equate Kavanaugh with Roy Moore in an interview with Mitch McConnell and the good senator called him on it, saying any comparison between the two is "outrageous." Wallace reminds me of Jim Grey of HBO boxing. The Son of Mike doing groundwork for an...

    2018 NFL Week 3

Niners score a TD and two upsiders make everyone sit through a ridiculous hand jive routine. Uh, the scoreboard says you're still eighteen down midway through the third quarter. Boneheads.

Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez II

Watched the replay I had GGG winning. His power finally got to Canelo a couple times. I'd say first two thirds of the fight back and forth close, then the last third more back and forth with GGG a clear edge. But Canelo had just enough moments to justify a biased judge's nod. The broadcast...

    Black QBs in the NFL

Fitzpatrick is making an effort to be a more exciting personality and thus preempt any thoughts of replacing him with Crablegs.

    Joshua vs Povetkin

Fight snuck up on me. Povetkin is fighting a younger bigger guy. Hopefully he can get in Joshua's face in a way that no other fighters have been able to. I'd like this fight more if Povetking was twenty nine not thirty nine.

Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez II

In "Goodfellas" the movie ends with the mafia run out of Vegas. Looks like they didn't really leave. They just moved over to boxing. Iffy decision or no, Canelo has to feel better about himself. He found he can fight at a high level without peds. I hope they fight again. Even though he went...

    2018 NFL Week 2

Kittle's presence saved the game for the Niners today. Sophomore slumping Jimmy G's game losing pick 6 was called back when the Detroit DB got caught grabbing Kittle's jersey yet again. The DB had been doing that all day as he simply couldn't over Kittle.

Fitzpatrick with some good dead pan comedy at the news conference. I rarely watch those but he was good, wearin' some bling he borrowed from Desean Jackson.
