Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

I know you guys are afraid to get your hopes up, but to me Christophe looks really good right now. Guys, he got no sleep the night before and had just finished the rounds of the 100. It was his second 200 of the day and he ran into a headwind, whereas Gemili had a tailwind. Their times were...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

I've been as disappointed as everyone else with LeMaitre the past few years, but I feel like he's coming back. Today, he was clearly tired in the 200's, and he said in an interview that he'd gotten no sleep. I hope he feels more ready tomorrow afternoon. Gemilli ran a Bolt-like semi, but...

    Mary Cain

Thanks. She destroyed them in that race, too. Over the last 200m she moved past them so easily, you would think she was a sprinter with fresh legs. Generally, by the way, it's impossible for a young American to win at a junior championship, owing to African age cheating (which can be pretty...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

This was supposed to be a work session, more than a race, for Lemaitre. He apparently has been working very hard the past 2 1.2 weeks and is still pretty tired. Still, with a wind that strong, I would like to have seen a much better time.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

LeMaitre finished third--20.08, behind superdoper Justin Gatlin, who has already served 4 yrs of drug suspensions, and is having his best season at age 32... Anyway, the announcers mentioned there was a headwind (-0.5), so this was a good time. LeMaitre beat some very good runners, including...

    2014 Outdoor Season

But track doesn't begin and end with sprints. Pretty much the only excitement building for the juniors centers around the 1500 meter darlings Alexa Ephraimson and Elise Cranny as well as Mary Cain in the 3000. Track fans talk about them a LOT more than Usain Bolt. I'm dying to see what they...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

This is getting so depressing: LeMaitre was last place every step of the race. He never seemed to gain ground at any time. He finished with a dreadful, dreadful time (10.28). Move him to the 400, they say? He barely has 800m speed at this point. He hasn't been competitive in the 100 or...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

Dammit. Another disappointment by LeMaitre. 20.24 for second place behind a no-name. I had my hopes high after reading an article about LeMaitre this morning in which he seemed to be expecting a 20-flat time. But, as in every race for the past three years, he simply didn't have it this...

    2014 Outdoor Season

Devon Allen showed what he could do once spring football practice ended and he could devote himself to track for a couple of weeks. He just ran a 13.27 in the hurdles, making him a genuine threat to win the event at NCAAs as a part-time track athlete and freshman. That's some talent. Jenna...
