2026 Track Results

Josh Kerr and Keely Hodgkinson both going for world records in London today in the mile and 800m respectively. Optimistic but you never know. From 3.30pm UK time.

Also Amy Hunt going in the 200m just before them.

She has done good in the 200 but great in the 100. I want to see her getting back to where she is fearless in the 200 meters like when she
ran a World Age Group Record as a young lady. She has the talent in my opinion. Love seeing feminine elite level sprinters!

5th in a strong field, season best 22.30. Commonwealth and European champs coming up so hopefully peaking at the right time.

WORLD RECORD! Josh Kerr just broke the mile world record which had stood for 27 years. 3:42.66.
Didn't see that one as these records were set during the dirty EPO era but in recent years Ingebrigtsen and Goose have been dancing around the record so I guess this isn't that shocking in retrospective.

I wonder if Hicham's 1500 record is now vulnerable too.

Also Karsten Warholm ran a World Leading time of 46.61!
That's a great time, and I'm happy to see Warholm getting back to his old form. He's been running 2nd to some other guys this season, and I thought maybe age had slowed him down. But this proves otherwise.

Goose (Nuguse) was in the race, finished a distant second. Josh actually broke the British 1500m record during the race, still a second and a half outside Hicham El Guerrouj's 3:26:00. It was Hicham's mile record that he broke.

It was quite an occasion: a packed Olympic stadium in London, with former mile world record holders Steve Cram on (very excited!) commentary and Seb Coe (President of World Athletics) there to congratulate him.

Screenshot of Josh and Keely, who also won albeit not in a world record, after their races. Fine looking couple. Someone needs to hook them up to produce the next generation!joshkeely.jpg

Great to see him running a world class time at 30, his fastest for 3 years. Really hope he can hold out till LA'28.

A sprinter from Belgium had a nice result a week ago for the 3rd fastest 200 meter time in Europe. Antoine Snyders ran a time
of 20.24 +0.3. He is 29 years of age and a name I hadn't heard of.

In the European Top Lists for the Womens 100 Meters our women are still dominating most of the top 10!

Amy Hunt is still the fastest female sprinter in Europe with her 10.97 +0.8. Ewa Swoboda is 2nd in Europe with
her time of 10.98 +0.9. About a week ago Swiss Sprinter Geraldine Frey ran a time of 10.98 +1.8. So our women
are the 3 fastest sprinters in all of Europe. We also have many sprinters just a tad over the 11 second mark. It's
been a great year for European Female Sprinting!

Did I read above that the three longest jumpers in the world this year are all white?

If so, that’s a pretty amazing thing in and of itself.

Yes it's true

Kerr's mile record is all over my X feed. I ran the mile in HS and I basically assigned myself the rabbit role for our natural and gave him two laps to pace before I gave out. What these guys do is unworldly to me.
