Week 18 kicks off tomorrow.

Panthers vs Bucs

Seahawks vs 49ers

For the Eagles it sounds like QB Tanner McKee will get the start.

Sounds like McCarthy will be starting for the Vikings.
That’s good. He was playing very well in his latest return from injury. Brosmer, not so much, and I don’t want his chances of an NFL career to be totally destroyed because he’s not ready yet.

Can Baker Mayfield save the quite odious Buccaneers and Todd Bowles job tonight?

Although it's quite an anti white division anyway so none of them are particularly white friendly.

Love Mayfield barrowing into the Panthers defender and gets up and gives him a mouthful not backing down after running at him, he's hard as nails. Great touchdown to end drive, poor defending but our TE Otton delivered in the end zone.

..and Cade Otton with the TD reception!
although I live in NC, I'm going with the Bucs. I also remember TB acquiring UDFA WR Ryan Miller out of Furman. I didn't realize they waived him. Not happy about that. The NY Giants picked him up off of waivers.

TB dominates the first quarter and is up 10-0. For the Panthers, little used WR Brycen Tremayne and TE Mitchell Evans make receptions. Panthers driving.

Boy, Carolina is very black. Not much to cheer for but Bucs are clearly better from a racial point of view.

They really are. Bucs at least have Mayfield, some TEs and Gaines/Nelson on defense. Good to see you posting again.
Haha - thanks man. I don't follow much football anymore but I know CF is the place to go to discuss it amongst like-minded people.

Bryce Young reminds me of Kyler Murray. Besides both obviously being small, they define mediocrity. They're not terrible but neither is in danger of being considered a "franchise QB" despite both going first overall in their respective drafts. Arizona is a perennial playoff non-contender with Murray and while Carolina may make the playoffs occasionally (like possibly this year with an 8-9 record) can anyone see Young leading them to a Super Bowl appearance? The Cardinals will likely eat a bunch of Murray's guaranteed money to be rid of him after this season. I can see Young with a similar career arc.

Every time I watch the Carolina Panthers I’m reminded of what a blessing it has been for CMac to leave what has become an unwatchable team under the new kosher owner David Tepper. His career has flourished in SF and he can become a HOFer with a couple more decent seasons.

Speaking of San Francisco they need the #1 seed a lot more than Seattle or any of the other top NFC teams like PHI and CHI. It’s amazing they’re even in this position given the number of injuries on both sides of the ball. Their defense mostly stinks and is not equipped to go on the road in potential bad weather and win 3 games to reach the Super Bowl. High powered offenses like theirs also slows down in post season play.

Hopefully they get the top seed and never leave home on their way to the SB.

I kind of have mixed emotions about McCaffrey going to SF as I live in NC and was able to watch him play quite a bit. Now on the west coast, I rarely get to watch him play. He had a pretty good career in Carolina. It's where he became only the third RB to get over 1,000 yards rushing and receiving. He also scored 19 TD's that year. The second most of his career. Sam Darnold was also at Carolina for a short time when McCaffrey was there. If they would've had a little more patience with Darnold and drafted a better OL, the Panthers could've been a quality team right now.

Niners so far have nothing going for them. If Seahawks score now, it could be grim. It's unlikely CMC will be able to run, so maybe they will go back to short passes to him?

If they can't establish some type of running game, they're in trouble!
