2025 Track Results

A new name for you - 18 year old Leendert Koekmoer of South Africa.
He won the Bauhaus Junior Gala 200m this past weekend, with a meeting record, 20.34.
He also has run 45.03 in the 400m and 10.50 (-1.0) in the 100m this year.
Let's keep an eye on him.
Here is his dominant performance:

ah yes. You reminded me - Koekmmoer was 3rd leg on the S'African 4x400 at world relays in May. He ran a beautiful 44.23 to set them up to win Gold in 2.57.50. Worth watching that on Youtube

His arm movement looks strange but this kid is fast. It makes you wonder if it should be fixed or just let the kid run the way he wants? I would still try to clean up the arm movement as I believe there is alot more speed to burn in there. The fact that he is 18 is a BONUS!

On July 5th we finally get to see Lachlan Kennedy run again over 100 meters against what is a similar field of sprinters to an Olympic Final. He is in way over his head but I love that the kid knows that the only way to become the best is to compete against those better than yourself. I expect him to do ok but nerves and his first race in America could slow him down alot. I will say he runs around a time of 10.05 but obviosly I'm hoping he goes sub 10 again. If he breaks his personal best again I will be pumped more than a Water Park in the summer time!

That’s basically the most stacked field in the world right now. This is what you have to do if you want to get better. You can’t be afraid to get beat. Thompson should win this one as he is in top form, clearly roided out. Another 9.7 Jamaican, nothing to see here….but that’s for another topic. Back to Kennedy, let’s hope these guys pull him to a new PB. If he can get another sub 10 that would really show that he has arrived and belongs. Especially if he could get a 9.8x as we know he is capable.

Meanwhile, Rohan Browning ran 10.17 (1.2w) in Nancy, France today.
Louie Hinchliffe was better, taking 3rd in 10.08.

Koekmoer came 2nd in the 400m at Nancy, running well and finishing in 45.10. Definitely an emerging talent.
Edoardo Scotti of Italy was 3rd in 45.27, and Jonathan Secoor of Belgium, 3rd, in 45.32.

It’s unfortunate, but maybe Browning is just a 10.0x guy. That’s still faster than almost any human that’s ever lived so it’s not taking anything away from him. He just doesn’t seem to be able to find that next level. Once again, I hope I’m wrong but that may just be the case.

I like both Dobson and Doom, I fear Doom has reached his peak in the 400m with Dobson having a much higher ceiling in my opinion. Here's hoping they both fare well!

I must say that the women's 1500 field is totally stacked with 2 Ethiopian competitors(drug cheats) at the top of the list. Based on seasons best Sarah Healy is right there.

Yannick Wolf runs 10.16 (1.3w) for the win in Spain.

Elian Larregina of Argentina won the 400m in 44.99.

Not the best time for Wolf but a win in another country is huge for his confidence. Kevin Kranz finished in 3rd place. I think most of the european sprinters need to get out of thier countries and race more abroad. It's probably not in the budget as most of these countries pay to house, feed and give insurance to all of the illegal invaders here to replace the whites. Hoping this will change someday.

Sad to not see any Polish Sprinters running today. Was hoping to see Oliwer Wdowik and Kopec. Marek Zakrzewski seems to have retired at 20 years of age. Joking but he sure has disapeared into nowhere. No news about him anywhere.

If Kennedy beats a few home I'll be content. But super thrilled if he could be mid field

Sadly he finished in 8th place our of 9 sprinters. He ran a 10.07 +0.4 wind so about what I expected. I predicted a time of 10.05. Overall I'm happy as he hadn't raced in over a month. It was also his first race in America ever. Alot of nerves & jitters yet he finished right around where 5 world class sprinters finished. I try to look at the big picture. Very proud of the kid. Also finishing 2nd to last will make him work that much harder to do better the next time out. You have to race the best to become the best! Good job Lachlan Kennedy.

He's run a few times this year, but the times were not worth mentioning.
Have no idea what's going on with him, but he has not been even close to being the same sprinter he was a few years ago.
