I’m torn as to who I’d like to see win the Jones-Cormier fight tonight. I wholeheartedly-detest Jon Jones, but Daniel Cormier is becoming a colossal drama queen / trash-talker in his own right. The winner will likely face CF favorite, Alexander Gustafsson (who clearly edged out Jones in 2013 war, but wasn’t awarded the LHW Title), who will face a dangerous Rumble Johnson on January 24[SUP]th[/SUP].

If Cormier wins, it’ll be Jones’ first legitimate loss and his record-setting title run will finally come to an end, which would be fantastic. Cormier would be a nice matchup for Gustafsson in the future, given his significant height and reach advantage.

If Jones wins, and I suspect he will (via decision), it would be really sweet to see Gustafsson take care of business and win the belt in the next few months, assuming he gets past Johnson in a few weeks.

Given that Gus will likely be facing one of these guys, I’m interested in this fight tonight, despite the fact that it’s two black fighters facing off.

I look at it more like there are tons of whites on the card. Almost every fight has a white athlete (in stark contrast to the NFL playoffs).

Jones should beat Cormier due to his reach.

Shawn Jordan koed the guy in the first round and did a backflip. Not bad for a 6'1 260 lbs former fullback from LSU.
Dunham also had an impressive win.

Right now watching the stream for this (while watching Pitt/Ravens lol) - It's the prelims I'm triple happy Jordan KO'd Cannonier. Goldberg and Rogan were starting to suck on Cannonier's sack big time and then "timberrrrrrrr". I honestly think Rogan is told to be a nutt-hugger. Goldberg does it naturally.

As for Jones vs Cormier... where do I start complaining? Careers based on fighting old/small/fat... but you guys already know what I could dredge up.

I have no doubt the UFC avoids certain "talent" when they're out looking. On some level, a good portion of the fans sense it, as they have not been able to sell Jones to the public as they had hoped to. The Gustafson fight proved Jones to be somewhat "protected" if nothing else.

Cody Garbrandt stops black hope Brimage. Rogan was pulling a Cosell, calling the winner by the loser's name twice I think (catching himself, but still). If Cody did break his right hand in the first, the win is doubly impressive the way he dropped those bombs with his right (and left). Good win for one of our guys. Cody has 6 wins, all KO's.

I think Felder and Burkman will have a tough time tonight. Castillo is much better than his record indicates. Felder has only been doing MMA for a short time. Felder is actually an actor who took up martial arts to get in shape. I think he has a bright future though.
As for Burkman, he is making his return against one of the toughest fighters at 170. I like him and think he could do well in MMA, but I just don't see him winning this fight.

Tyrone Woodley was suppose to fight Lombard, but wussed out. He pissed off the matchmakers so I expect him to get thrown to the wolves this year.

Great ko by Paul Felder. I did not see that coming.

Burkman had a very good first round and then for rounds 2 and 3 he just did the exact opposite of what his corner told him. It's quite inexplicable.

Burkman very strange type of fighter. Lombard is good...but not as good as they try to claim (the two previous times I've bothered to watch Lombard he lost). Burkman actually hurt Lombard and the announcers either missed it or didn't want to admit it. For my two cents, neither guy is championship material.

Biceps count as punches, and punches to the head don't. Lombart landed like 4 or 5 punches and the rest were biceps to the hand and head.

Lombard has no chance against Rory or Hendricks, especially if it is a five round fight. Lombards cardio is not very good.

I wonder which Nate Marquardt will show tonight. He looked good in his return at 185, but he has been busy training fighter at High Altitude fitness. I think he has a few more fights left in him, but he has been doing MMA, and I think he is looking transition more towards a coaching role.
