Sweet KO! Very glad I ordered the card. Anderson was clearly getting frustrated by Weidman having his way with him in the first round. He lost his cool and started taunting and that's what you get. You have got to give it to Weidman I don't think many people thought he had that kind of power to put the Champ to sleep. The reign is over finally!

I have not followed UFC like I do boxing but I was following this, much like the end of Fedor's reign. I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. The promotion was non stop. The marquee was 100' x 60' at the MGM Grand Resort. Vegas wanted everyone to know. I tuned in to watch this and was thrilled with the outcome. Silva was classily in his defeat at the hands of Weidman. Hopefully Weidman can dominate and break Silva's record.

One small thing as well. There were more people cheering for Silva than Weidman at the start of the fight. There was a huge Brazilian contingent at the event in Vegas. Not only did Chris KO Silva, but Frankie and Kennedy beat Brazilian opponents as well.

Now, I know many white Brazilians and they are very good people. I consider them brothers.

But I get sick of seeing these stacked cards in Brazil where Brazilians go 7-1 against Americans. Of course, I will certainly cheer for great white Brazilians (Maia, Dos Santos, Drysdale) against American blacks (just like all American Negroes were cheering for Silva). But I guess I must still have a small amount of national pride when it comes to white Americans.

Yes. You could tell it was false Bravado and Silva was rightly deeply concerned after getting manhandled in the first round. Silva looked his characteristically swift self (though perhaps has lost a step). Quicker than Wideman. That type of speed, generally referred to as "athleticism" (as it is narrowly defined nowadays) can be a double edge sword. If you rely on it and don't develop a complete game then when it goes, so also goes your game. Wideman is the stronger man. Anderson looked like a joke frankly. He had no response in the ground game.

Should Alex Gustafsson somehow manage to lift the LHW Championship subsequent to his fight with the ever-loathsome King of Conceit, Jon Jones, 2013 will have been the best year for white fighters in the history of the UFC. In my opinion, Jones is more far dominant a champion than Silva, but given Gustafsson’s unique body type, great striking ability, and fantastic gift for taking vicious punches, Alex should have much more than a “puncher’s chance” against Jones.
