Jim Haslett?!

If Del Rio is the "King of Caste," then Haslett is "Prince of Caste" for sure. With Nick Saban being "Lord of Caste." [Honorable Mention: Denny Green, Jimmy Johnson, Mike Tice, etc]

Did the morons who run the Rams not see what happened the INSTANT that Haslett left the Saints (they actually became a decent team)?

His Saints teams routinely flirted with an all-time NFL record for black starters....usually 20-21 (starting either one white lineman or DT Brian Young). Stratch that, Nick Saban wanted to cut Wes Welker 2 years ago to make room for repeate criminal, Marcus Vick! Simply put, Saban should be an enemy to everyone at this site.

Let's hold our fire here a bit. Leonard wasn't getting any playing time to speak of before, so maybe he'll get some more touches now. Who knows, maybe Haslett has learned a little from being fired. He can't be any worse for Leonard than the other guy. Let's just wait and see.

Jim Haslett? After his complete meltdown in New Orleans I can't imagine why anyone would feel like he could be bring anything to the table. It is times like this where I wonder if certain teams are not trying to wreck themselves on purpose. Granted, the Rams have been pretty much junk for a few years now and Linehan obviously was not the answer, but Haslett surely is not either. The only thing it would almost ensure longterm, is that the Rams get blacker. I hear that since Georgia Frontiere died, her son has been wanting to sell the team and that the Rams were unhappy with their facilities and wanted the city to pony up for a brand new state of the art stadium. If they don't get that new stadium, I also hear there is a good chance they wont be in St Louis for long. I think back to the movie "Major League" and wonder. Turning the franchise into a complete joke, seems like a pretty good way to ensure that the taxpayers wouldn't be interested in handing out alot of money for a new stadium, while at the same time ensuring that the NFL would approve a sale to a new owner who promised greaner pastures in another market. Poor Brian Leonard, Chris Long and Adam Carriker.

If Haslett is anything but an interim head coach I will seriously have to wonder. Haslett has a little bit of talent to work with, but has done absolutely nothing as the Rams defensive coordinator to get that squad any better. Edited by: Bear Backer

Haslet in New Orleans, much like Aaron Brooks, had mysterious and highly annoying staying power far beyond anything he deserved. Before the Jags took over as the league's undisputed blackest team, it was Haslet and the Saints leading the way (and Billick and the Ravens) with no deviation from year to year.

Haslet was an "overachieving" linebacker from a small college who had a very good NFL career. He as much as anyone should be fully aware of how the Caste System works but instead he embraces it.

I always felt like hissing when they showed his mug on the sideline when he was coaching the Saints. Guess that old feeling will be coming back a lot now.

Haslett will be a disaster for the white playres at the Rams. When at New Orleans he purged the organisation of white backs and receivers. This is the end for Bennet, Looker, Leonard and Todd Johnson. Edited by: devans

Bennett needs toget healthy and stay healthy, because there's really no receivers there to threaten his starting job yet, just a few rookie "project" types. He's been pathetically fragile so far this season going back to preseason.

Really I don't know what is wrong with the guy. He seems like he has been fragile his whole career. At some point you either have to say this guy is not physically suited to play in the NFL or his problem of weakness is between his ears. I have known several athletes like that who tend to overstate their injuries and have no real desire to play through any kind of pain, which you must do at some point if you want to be a top athlete at any sport.

Yeah, I love this guy and even I'm getting pretty sick of his endless injuries.

He's one of the true "non-slot type" white WR's allowed to play in the NFL. The Rams, in a rare, anti-caste moment, actually signed a white WR to a big contract.

Drew has had tons of chances, chances which arent given to 99% of his fellow white WRs. He's had as much chance an any to smash the caste system and he's basically had one big night....a couple years back on MNF, when he literally torched the black Cheifs for a rediculous amount of yards receiving and a couple TDs.

That's why I said in my article Bennett only deserved this season to reprove himself. I think he had earned another chance this year, but now with his injury we really don't know what will happen. He was great in Tennessee with Volek and could be good again with an offensive line that could protect Bulger even reasonably IMO. McNair was over the hill and Vince Young just isn't a good passer.
