John Chenal wins the prestigious (first time I’ve heard of it) Lowman award for nations best fullback sponsored by Chevy. Here is the amusing awards ceremony with commentary from John Kuhn, Jacob Hester etc. I may have to switch from f-150 to Silverado after this award ceremony and that heart warming commercials we like spot!

Texas A&M finished the season with an 8-4 record, which was good for 4th place (out of 7) in the SEC West division. They still secured the #1 recruiting class by composite ranking (two white tight ends, one tackle, one kicker, and a transfer QB out of 28). An Oklahoma "program insider" posted this tidbit on a recruiting forum:

That's pretty clear. Texas A&M donors have set up a series of shell companies (LLC's) to sponsor players through the NIL arrangement, which is a very smooth equivalent to a salary. The recruits sign NIL deals upon committing to "endorse" fake companies and receive a down payment plus a schedule for successive years based on their enrollment. If performance incentives aren't spelled out, they soon will be. The source estimates the budget at about $1 million per recruit, although this may skew toward the top. Assuming this is accurate, an incoming Aggie freshman in 2022 probably has about $250k in pocket just for showing up to fall camp.

If they are paying taxes I couldn't give a crap this has been going on for decades it just was a duffel bag full of cash in the past or a summer no show job or bribing with prostitutes or loans to family members or mix of all of them. At least now it's above board for the most part.

Lol I foresee a **** ton more of disciplinary issues with each afflete now running around with the equivalent of rapper/drug dealer money. 250k is a player is crazy.

Best case scenario is for teams like A&M to finish 8-4 again. See how long donors will tolerate paying.

It happened with Miami back 20ish years ago and brought down the program. I suspect x amount players will go insane and do that but level headed guys could have a nice nest egg.

What's the saying you can lead a mule to water but if doesn't want to drink there is nothing you can do...

Can you guys imagine being a college athlete and having that type of money? The girls wanted them before. Now they will have their own harems. Yeah this
is a train wreck in the future. These guys are not ready for that type of responsibility. This is gonna be crazy but no going back now I guess.

I remember seeing doc on a Native American tribe where any band member who turned 18 got their revenue share of either an oil patch or casino and the one time payment was 250k less taxes most lost the money to fast living by buying the usual trappings and having dodgy friends. I would expect the same among football players getting similar money, many of these band members died from excess too or suicide because of the squandering of money.

    A disaster in the making...

look how many NFL players self-destruct when they get paid... now imagine some college students with that kind of cash... look forward to a LOT more arrests for beating women as the Whores will be lined up out the door to get a piece of the pie...

I hope the schools go bankrupt.

It would be great to have two leagues: one that is dysfunctional mess but has “wiggle” in the hips and one that features mature and responsible (and better players) a the lunch-pail types.

Then, just as when high school teams meat, people will find out who is actually the better football product.

Nebraska will alter the mascot amid controversy.
Nebraska’s mascot known as “Herbie Husker” will be getting an upcoming change. The cartoon depiction of the Herbie features him giving the “ok signal” which is when the tips of the index and middle finger to make a circle. In recent years, that symbol has been used by hate group as a gesture of white supremacy. Herbie’s hand will now hold the “we’re number one” signal
