Since 2006, Bowling Green has started 12, 9, 9, 11, 9, 10, 12, 7, 10, 7, 9, 6, 9, 7 8 7 and 7 white starters with a few years missing. In 2026 they are projected to start 6.

I did a quick overview of the roster on the official site and BGSU has no White DBs, 2 White LBs and 2 White DL on the entire team.

QB Austin Novosad bid his time at Oregon only to be replaced by an overrated black QB despite receiving alot of positive press. Yet another case of what could have been for a White QB. Hopefully he has a strong season and can parlay it into a higher profile school via the portal. I'll be rooting for him.

Players to look out for are QB Jay Kastantin, WR Reddik Pillarelli, DE Kade Kostus

Offense
QB Austin Novosad
FB Leo Kemp
TE Blane Cleaver
WR Winn Sharp
C Brody Bolyn
RT Gabe Funk

Defense
None

It’s extra despicable that a MAC team like Bowling Green has zero White defenders. Considering how Ohio State and Cincinnati ignore all but the top guys, they have their pick of White Ohioans to choose from.

Seeing the MAC darken up during this current decade has been a real sore spot for me. Over the past few weeks both @Don Wassall and @jphoss have brought up local competive PA football programs (and leagues) that are still very White and exist on both sides of the state yet the dearth of White kids from PA and the rest of the historical MAC recruiting footprint go ignored.

I've been going down the AI rabbit hole with football recruiting and pretty much everything lines up with what we have been observing over the last several years. I lay most of the blame on the recruiting services. Back up until probably 10-12 years ago Scout/Rivals/BSPN were moreso databases that arbitrarily ranked players but overtime they have become more active in promoting certain players and working with all of these camps that pop up across the country. The simplest way to explain it is they are gatekeepers in recruiting like the combine is for the NFL draft. They anoint certain players and then give them every opportunity while ignoring other players. The racial filtering system is now much more active in college recruiting than at any other point. So we see these schools rely on these self anointed companies that reach their consensus together based mostly on a player's melanin content and the geographic region in which they played and how many other 3/4/5 star athletes played in the area. Then they come up with their subjective analysis while ignoring other players, states, leagues, regions that do not produce players with the arbitrary star ranking system they all swear is gospel.
