Argentina or Spain have a chance to win the World Cup. Norway is a team to support but they will not win the World Cup.

For now, I’m going to ignore every discussion about race, the media, agendas, and everything else surrounding this tournament. I’d rather focus purely on the football. I plan to start a thread and respectfully share my thoughts on different aspects of society and human activity, today’s world with when I first joined this page back in the late 2000s.
Now, about the World Cup itself. I’ve watched every World Cup since 1986, when I first saw the GREAT Diego Armando Maradona. I’ve supported Argentina ever since. I know that in knockout games, everything can happen. My eyes have seen a lot!
Yesterday’s match proved to me that this Argentina side is made of iron. Even on an off day, they always seem to find a way to win. Cape Verde have been the “blessed” team of this World Cup. IMO, yesterday they were capable of sending home England, Portugal, Brazil, Morocco—and perhaps even Spain or France had the bracket been different. Because Argentina survived, many people and much of the media will underestimate Cape Verde. But I know what I saw. Based on that performance, France could easily have lost to them yesterday.
Nothing but respect for the most respectful, disciplined, and humble black team at this World Cup. They play football instead of turning matches into MMA fights, as some other African teams unfortunately tend to do. They also had a white player, Lopez, who is most likely of Spanish or Portuguese descent.
Argentina had a live grenade explode in their hands yesterday and somehow survived. Now let’s see how England against Mexico, Brazil against Norway, and especially France against Morocco deal with similar situations. Those who believe France will cruise to the title may be in for a rude awakening when they face Morocco. Of course, Paraguay could prove me wrong tonight and send France packing before Morocco ever gets the chance.

I regard the match yesterday as Argentina playing with their food and the prey almost escaping ie a lioness having an antelope buck them and partially escape but in the end it was still devoured.
The true tests are down the road but you can't play with your food in these next matches or we will hear the pharse "Long live the king, the king is dead" and a new champion will be crowned in World Cup 26'.
Aside from Paraguay the underdogs have given punters their money's worth but have fallen short. Historically the round of 16 separates the wheat from the chaff and we should see the favorites move through. One upset could be Mexico over England due to the heat and altitude as the English could melt down and fatigue but with modern knowledge and hyperbaric chambers this is less of chance than it was in 68' in Mexico city at the Olympics.
I respectfully disagree. Cape Verde proved again and again that it was the best black team (I don’t say African, because Morocco is the best). In reality, they didn’t lose from Spain, Uruguay and Argentina in 90 minutes of football. It can’t be luck and coincidence x3. It just can’t! They run as fast as France, they scored impossible goals, they played better defense than France and their wingers had mad dribbling skills. Most of the remaining teams would have lost to them yesterday.
Mexico is also a superior team to England from what I have seen. Altitude or not, Mexico plays fantastic defense, they run like maniacs (more so than even Japan), and they keep/control the ball more than I expected them to do. I don’t see exactly how England has a better team. Because the media say so? I digress!

I thought Argentina looked very poor for stretches, especially coming out of half time. They had two poor clearance attempts that gave away the ball in the center of the field less than 30 yards out. I would've gotten yanked for that in high school. Their defenders couldn't really pass forward out of the back (except for the great first assist).
They have some Champions League-quality players, but no one beyond Messi and perhaps CB Lisandro Martinez seem worthy of a tournament "first team."
That said, Argentina often has one stinker early on in recent tournaments. Hopefully it's out of their system now and the Egypt game will be more of a formality.

Like I’ve said twice already: good luck to the “superb” France against Morocco. They’ll need it.
Unlike Iraq and Sweden, Morocco run relentlessly, defend with incredible intensity, know how to score, control the tempo of the game, and have one of the most dangerous counter-attacks in the tournament. I think they’ll make France look very ordinary and send them back to Paris in business class.
I’ll happily be here to admit I was wrong if France prove me otherwise. Spain—and Argentina on one of their good days—are a different story because of the way they play football. France will need much more than media hype if they’re going to get past this Moroccan side.
