2025 Week 4

We're at a point now where mobility is a built-in feature of most White QBs' skillsets. You love to see it. But it's important to remember that mobile White QBs have always existed, they just weren't always given a chance to show it. Either due to being blackballed from the league (Eric Crouch) or discouraged from showing it by their coaches (Big Ben).

I like Browning but I can't even begin to imagine how good Kenny Pickett would look in this offense. The Bengals should trade for him. They could pick him up from Plantation Pete for a slushee and a bag of pretzels and have a Super Bowl offense within an hour.

Browning continues to target Riley Moss. This has led to a FG and 3 punts so far. While Twitter lambastes Moss, he’s been quite effective this season.

Per Grok:

Moss leads the NFL in forced incompletions with five on just 28 targets through Week 3, per PFF grades. He’s allowing a league-low 48.1% completion rate when targeted (13-of-27 for 170 yards) and an 80.8 passer rating against, ranking sixth-best among qualified CBs. His PFF coverage grade sits at 90.3 (second among CBs over the past three weeks), showcasing tight technique, patience, and ball skills honed from his college days (11 career INTs at Iowa).

Here’s some criticism of Moss…:smash2:

His shorter arm length can lead to contact penalties at the catch point, and he’s been “crucified” by fans for moderate success against him (e.g., 170 yards allowed).

You have a 14-3 lead, why are you not taking the points and making it 17-3? Why are you going into the wildcat on 3rd down? The game might've passed Payton by.

The Skattebo story is great. Let's hope his headfirst style doesn't result in injury. But there are some real screw jobs going on. First and foremost, Ladd McConkey. When last seen, he was setting a rookie playoff record with 197 receiving yards. Obviously, he was a big play threat. So how can his 2025 situation be explained? He is barely being targeted (3rd on the team), always for short gains. Keenan Allen looked washed up last year, and now he's ahead of a dynamic rookie in the pecking order? Preseason reports said that he looked better than ever, and was uncoverable in camp. The fantasy shows have been saying that his separation rate, and ability to get open, is even better than last season. So why aren't they making an effort to get the ball to him? Screens, plays designed to get him going. Instead, he's taken a back seat.

Will Shipley was supposed to be back to serving as the #2 back for the Eagles. Last season, this resulted in Kenneth Gainwell getting a fair amount of touches every game. But today, A.J. Dillon was the only other ball carrier for the Eagles. How does that work? Isaac Teslaa is barely playing, despite making a highlight film catch every time he's thrown to. And Spencer Rattler has still never won an NFL game, and looks unimpressive. So why doesn't Kellen Moore switch to his second round pick, Tyler Shough? How bad does Rattler have to be in order for them to see what they have in Shough? How many interceptions will Geno Smith throw before Kenny Pickett gets a chance? Why did the Seahawks give Cooper Kupp a decent contract, only to target him just a handful of times each game?

There are lots more questions like this. Fortunately, I will never run out of material for my book.
It is inexplicable scenarios like this that make me think it is intentional at times. Can’t have too many white stars.

Who knows?

Moss has had blanket coverage just about every time Cincy has thrown his way, which has been often. It takes pretty much a perfect throw to complete a pass on him.

Of course it's intentional. That's the caste system at work.
I mean intentional as in a team purposefully not targeting a star WR like Kupp or McConkey. This is not a case of a deserving white player from getting a chance. This is teams actively trying to sabotage their chances, a pretty big deal.

And that is why the caste system is fundamentally absurd. The 2010s Patriots gave the entire league a blueprint to win and they didn't take notes. So much for the NFL being a copycat league, huh? Oh it is, just not when the copying results in more White players.

Moss has just 2 tackles at the half, another indication of how difficult it's been to complete a pass on him tonight. Cornerbacks that lack coverage skills often rack up large numbers of tackles because they're tackling the receivers who are beating them.

i just posted a question in the Riley Moss thread, but it’s nice to see y’all have already answered it in this thread. nice to see my former Iowa Hawkeye killing it out there.

Riley Moss is playing Whiteout.
