2025 College Football Week 3

as has happened so often before, the Cyclones go away from Hansen and to the running black … who promptly loses yardage and forces a long field goal attempt (which was missed). Hansen didn’t see the field that drive.

Their performances thus far:
Hansen - 9 carries for 71 yards
the running black - 5 carries for 19 yards

additionally, the running black can’t pass protect, and he shared a large portion of responsibility for the interception Becht threw earlier, as he allowed a rusher to blast into the quarterback.
as a follow up … the ISU running black has breakaway speed, but that’s almost all he brings to the table. he doesn’t hit the correct hole, he can’t pick up the blitz, and he dances around in the backfield a lot consequently losing yards on a lot of runs. he did have a nice run, but he cost the Cyclones on every one of those errors in the second half.

Hansen is clearly a bell cow back, but the way they freeze him out for long stretches is confusing. also, the Cyclones have a ton of Upside Americans at wideout who are better at dropping than receiving. this will cost them, if they don’t correct it.

in related news, will Iowa correct its offensive woes against a hapless UMass team? will Brevin Doll make an appearance?

Iowa looks much better tonight on offense. Wetjen had a nice return as well.

Manning isn't declaring for the draft. He will be back in 2026. He hasn't lived up to the hype unfortunately. Keep in mind the Texas fanbase and media attacked and pushed out Quinn Ewers to ensure Manning was starting this year. Really disappointed in Manning so far this year, his failure to live up to the hype (fair or not) does not help out the cause. I'm certainly not writing him off but he has a lot of improvement to do.

Haven't been able to watch much football today. I've traveling out to. the coast on vacation. But just witnessed 3 amazing black athletes from Notre Dame all miss an easy tackle resulting in a long TD for the Aggies.
To the announcer's credit he did call the DB's out several times for poor tackling. I've never in my life seen so many dropped passes and poor tackling!

On another note, I was able to watch some of the end of the Iowa State game, I noticed Hansen always has to run off tackle and up the middle. Whereas Sama got the call on the toss sweeps where he was able to run behind no less than 3 pulling lineman. Was Hansen ever given that opportunity? I've seen Hansen breaks some long ones as well, but by having to do it from up the gut. If Hansen can get in some space he has some speed as well, but to be fair his feet do seem a little heavy at times when trying to change direction.

It's a real shame because it felt like pretty much everyone was rooting for him to succeed.

I agree. Not writing him off but he certainly isn't as polished as he should be in his third year at Texas.
100%. I'm definitely not writing him off either. I read theories that he's playing with some kind of injury or irritation. But others are saying his mechanics are just off. What do you think is going on?

The Navy game isn’t on regular tv. I refuse to buy another subscription to a streaming service. I saw in the box scores that Tecza had a 39 yard run. Heidenreich is 3-41......It pi$$es me off that there aren’t a lot of bell cow running backs to root for.....Who’s getting 20-30 carries? No one

I posted last week about a potential shoulder injury rumor that was popping up on social media. Sarkasian denied it during the week. It wouldn't surprise me if he was injured and they are hiding it. He did look much better in limited action last year. It would make more sense that he is injured than his mechanics are off considering who is family is. That's my uneducated opinion though.

I just found this. Man, that looks gnarly! If that's not an expression of pain then I don't know what is. Just watching that hurts my shoulder.

According to my cbs sports ap, Heidenreich weighs more than Tecza.
Would’ve lost that bet.....They may be old measurables.

How come no carries for Adam Hill or Aidan Laughery? I can't find any indication that either is hurt....

At least Coy Eakin having a huge receiving game!

I did see that Laughery was injured. Hill should be getting more than 1 carry in a blow out game. Total BS.

ODU is blowing out Va Tech.

Kaden Wetjen is having himself a night!
