I thought is was about time Mr. Kershaw got his own thread. At just 26 years old, Kershaw already has 93 wins and 1400 K's.

This season Kershaw is in a battle with Madison Bumgarner for what I believe will be the eventual Cy Young winner in the National League. Both Kershaw and Bumgarner lead the league with 16 wins, however, Kershaw is the leader in ERA, 1.73, CG, 6 and Winning%, .842., not to mention the Dodgers are 2.5 games ahead of the Giants.

I hope Bumgarner wins the Cy Young and the Giants win the division, it's about the only thing left for Bumgarner to accomplish at 24 years old(2 WS Rings already), but good luck to Kershaw and it won't be a bad thing if Kershaw wins his 3rd Cy Young. He looks like a young Roger Clemens!

Kershaw, Bumgarner, Kazmir, Scherzer, Porcello, Gray, Greinke, Sale, Weaver, Lynn, Shoemaker, just to name a few. I probably missed several others.

Kershaw is one my favorite pitchers in the game right now..

A trivial sidebar, I saw Kershaw on a late-night talk show a while back.. He mentioned that he was related to the dude who discovered the former planet of Pluto (Clyde Tombaugh). Kershaw was a good interview; he confessed that his family wasn't real happy when their great uncle lost his place in astronomy history. He shared some laughs about it; Kershaw seems like a nice, candid guy.

Kershaw win #17 on the year and 94 for his career giving up only one run on a home run from Bryce Harper.

Number 94 is just one off of Roger Clemens' win pace. Clemens had 95 wins at age 26 and 1215 K's. Kershaw way ahead of Clemens with 1408 K's as of last evening.

Barring a catastrophe, it looks as though Kershaw is on his way to Cy Young number 3!

Kershaw is a great pitcher, I just wish he didn't play for the odious, anti-white Dodgers. But he's such a skilled player that even the brown Hispanic Dodger fans can recognize his greatness.

USA Today had a nice article on Kershaw.. Reporting that Kershaw has the Dodgers' best win % (.875) since their 1951 season, when Roe was 22-3.. and he's on track to register the best ERA for four consecutive seasons (which would be a first in MLB history).
Really great (historically good) season, but I'm thinking how little I see Kershaw outside of the game. I think he has a Muscle Milk endorsement, but I believe the guy is underappreciated (?) I mean Ickey Woods has a national tv ad right now..

Kershaw wins the NL MVP, becoming the first pitcher since Bob Gibson,(1968), to sweep both the Cy Young and the MVP!

Kershaw gets win number 100 of his career, becoming the second youngest active pitcher, 27 years 57 days to reach the milestone.

Felix Hernandez is the youngest active pitcher to get to 100, 27 years 15 days.

Madison Bumgarner got his 71st career win last night at age 25.

Can Kershaw or Bumgarner get to 300?

These two seem like the best candidates, other than Hernandez, of anyone currently in the MLB.

Kershaw, as reported on the MLB thread with his 140th career win, 29 years old, is also the second fastest pitcher in MLB history to reach 2,000 career strikeouts. In just 277 games. Randy Johnson is number one. He recorded his 2,000th K, in game number 262.

Impressive feat. Not sure how many current pitchers will reach the 3000k milestone since the days of the workhorse starting pitcher seem to be gone.

Hopefully Skenes or that kid from the Brewers become aces!

Nolan Ryan’s record is insane.

Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson were beasts that will never be equaled, especially with starters now pitching 200 innings at best. Ryan played a mere 27 years, the 6' 9" mutant Johnson pitched for 22 years.
