Lots of rumors flying around regarding Daniel Jones and a long term deal. The media is reporting Jones is looking for 45 million a year. Jones is a young ascending player but honestly not worth 45 million a year. Have to wonder if there is truth to this or if the media is spreading rumors.

I like Jones and don’t blame him for trying to get paid but 45m / year is absolutely insane in my view. The fact that it’s possible at all is just because YT still supports the nfl so strongly.

If YT pulled the plug on supporting it the numbers would shrink pretty quickly.

Geno Smiff just got 3 years 105 million which is beyond laughable. Giving Jones 40+ million a year now does not seek absurd at all.

Smith seemed like the classic AA hire who when he was hired was totally incompetent but "had to be hired" for the numbers for tax reasons or to get a government contract and then after 10 years on the job he is now competent. In this modern era of fit or fold in the quarterback musical chair game he probably had the most chances of anybody I have ever seen.

Jones signs for 4 years $160 million. All it took was one turnaround season under competent coaching for him to show his talent. The money QBs are getting is ridiculous but I'm glad DJ got his.

Giants signed QB Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract.

The deal reportedly has $35 million in incentives. Even though this has been the likely outcome for some time, it's pretty remarkable that Jones managed to parlay his first year under Brian Daboll into this contract after the Giants declined his fifth-year option last offseason. Jones had the best season of his career under Daboll, cutting his interception rate sharply and rushing for seven touchdowns. The rushing upside will keep him relevant as a fantasy football low-end QB1. It remains to be seen just how this contract will actually break down, but it likely will amount to a two-year deal with an out afterwards.

Geno Smith discussion belongs in the Seahawks forum.

He is similar to a Josh Allen in Buffalo in skill level but not as poised and accurate with his decision making. He has the height, iq, arm
strength, very mobile, etc. etc. It's just a matter of putting the building blocks around Jones while he continues to refine his passing game. I think he more than proved his worth as a rusher last year. He had so many big games rushing. If the defenses are worried about the qb run
option, it will help open up the passing game. Now if they could just get some receivers to do their job. Get open and catch the damn ball.

Glad Jones got paid. Black media and blacks on social media have been attacking this deal in comparing it with the “plight” of Lamar Jackson. I haven’t heard anyone criticize Geno Smiths ridiculous deal though.

Simmons traded for a 7th rounder to New York. He was decently productive in Arizona but getting traded for a 7th rounder 3 years after going 8th overall is borderline. Of course this probably means either Carter Coughlin or Micah McFadden get cut so Simmons can continue to try and achieve his unlimited "upside".
He was another "NFL ready super athlete" who was going to be a "game changer."

You're too kind in your assessment -- bust!

Punt returner and WR Gunner Olszewski has been resigned by the Giants. He’s the best returner they’ve had in along time, taking one to the house in only 10 games with the team.
