Since 2005, Utah State has started 11, 10, 11, 12, 3, 8 ,11, 7, 10, 9, 7, 10, 9, 7 and 6 whites. They are down to 4 projected white starters in 2020.

Gary Andersen is probably the epitome of a caste head coach. He started at Utah St and then moved onto Wisconsin where he managed to screw up one of the best and most stable jobs in the country. He tried bringing in "juice" to the program and ended up leaving due to Wisconsin having actual academic standards that he could not bypass to bring in affletes. He then destroyed the Oregon St program and is now back where he started and judging by the roster composition has really begun to destroy Utah St too.


Former Idaho players of the year Keegan Duncan transferred from Boise St to Utah St and is now listed as LB instead of RB. Sounds like a waste of talent. He is also the only white ILB listed on the roster and buried on the projected depth chart I referenced for this write up.

QBs Cooper Legas and Andrew Peasley, WR Derek Wright, WR Taylor Compton, WR Kyle Van Leeuwen, DE Jake Pitcher, NT Josh Bowcut are players to look out for.

The wheels are falling off LOL. Jason Shelley was mediocre at Utah but gifted the starting job by the recently fired Gary Andersen.

Utah State redshirt junior QB Jason Shelley has been dismissed from the program.
News of Shelley's dismissal was reported on Sunday, one day after he struggled mightily in a 35-15 loss to Fresno State. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound redshirt junior, who joined the Utah State program as a grad transfer from Utah, was said to have violated team rules following the game. Shelley will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop, should he decide to continue his college football career elsewhere. As for the Utah State starting quarterback job Andrew Peasley, who was listed as Shelley's backup, was not in uniform for the Fresno State game. Either he or redshirt freshman Cooper Legas, who has yet to appear in a game, will start Saturday's game vs. Wyoming.

Maybe Anderson will whiten things up a little. He had both Ryan Graham and Lincoln Pare on his roster at RB at Ark St. It should at least be an improvement upon the caste stooge Gary Andersen era.

Former Arkansas State redshirt junior QB Logan Bonner transferred to Utah State.
Having split time with Layne Hatcher, Bonner (6'1/220) made the decision in early December to enter his name into the transfer portal. His choice of Utah State isn't all too surprising, given the fact that HC Blake Anderson was his head coach at Arkansas State as well. Bonner, who threw for 1,863 yards and 18 touchdowns with six interceptions this season, will have up to two seasons of eligibility remaining at Utah State.

Interesting wouldn't mind seeing either,
or both of those backs following him to Utah.
