Heading into the home stretch with teams having two or three left in the regular season.
Far fetched as this sounds there could be three SEC teams in the playoffs. If Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Title game ( and including Alabama if all three teams have only one loss) and say both Minnesota and Ohio State both lose then look out. Or substitute Clemson losing we could still end up with a three horse SEC race with say an undefeated Ohio State. The Pac 12? Not sure the committee would pick their winner over darling Alabama. I heard this scenario the other day and it could happen and what a disgrace that would be.
All games mentioned below will be televised unless noted otherwise.
Baylor is undefeated but I am pretty sure they are losing to Oklahoma tonight. Baylor looks like a paper tiger to me. TCU should have beat them last week.
Minnesota travels to Iowa which looks like a trap game. Expect Iowa to give them a battle and I hope and wouldn't be surprised if the Hawkeyes ruin the Gophers surprising undefeated season. Ohio State will be at pitiful Rutgers. Gruesome mismatch. Wisconsin goes to Nebraska and so far the Scott Frost experiment has failed. He needs a semi signature win but beating Wisconsin won't be easy. Michigan State plays Michigan at noon and expect a spirited battle with Michigan pulling it out I think.
Georgia is at Auburn and an upset would be welcome but I doubt it. LSU is at Ole Miss tonight on ESPN. I would love to see Ole Miss QB Plumlee run wild and upset the Tigers but that is a tough uphill climb. Alabama plays a poof team this week. I think their back up QB Mac Jones will start. Expect them to put up a ton of points.
Is Texas Tech WR Dalton Rigdon on the verge of becoming a key hope for us? Too early to tell but another great game would help me lift the fog that has shrouded the dour white wide receiver situation this year. Oddly his teammate McLane Mannix was supposed to explode this year but the opposite has occurred and I am not sure why? TT hosts TCU at noon.
Notre Dame will be on NBC at home against Navy and it would be nice to see WR Chris Finke get more involved.
I think we might see some entertaining games today?
I like Kansas State and they host West Virginia at 3:30 on ESPN. Same time is Clemson and the Stud Brothers. They play Wake who has been pretty good this year. Don't see Clemson losing. Too many terrific white players on defense.
Texas is at Iowa State. Thanks for nothing Iowa State. Going for two against Oklahoma was an awful decision. PS the Iowa game is at 4:00 on FOX.
Max Borghi and his moron coach will be in action on the Pac 12 network at 4:30.
Air Force is on the road tonight on ESPN2. By the way their New Mexico game has a make up date. next Saturday. Glad they fitted it in.
UCLA is on FOX at 8:00 playing at caste Utah.
Boise State and Oregon are teams that play late games.
Too bad East Carolina and WR Tyler Snead are off this week after his stunning performance last week. 19receptions on 20 targets? Only a white dude could pull that ratio off. Ha. As always I will be monitoring the white wide receiver performance meter hoping and praying for good news on that front.
Alright that is enough of the small talk. Lets get down to brass tacks.
PENN is at Harvard which I will pick up on a local feed at noon.
And the most exciting team in all of college football, Yale, will be at Princeton which should be a barnstormer. Alas I don't get the game on a local feed. Hell ESPN should have put it on one of their networks. Yale is the greatest show on grass.
