2017 NFL Week 8

Sailer is throwing out some red meat with an article on white cornerbacks, thought I would mention it where people would see it. Did not watch a second of the NFL so no opinion on this week. Of note I thought Scam was going to transcend the black quarterback millstone, it seems not to be. I think he knows of what to be doing pre snap and his progressions but they are done robotically, he might be able to play Hollywood QB. I might actually have to watch a Texans game some time in the future.

I was going to pop the Sailer piece up but it pretty much reiterates the Sports Illustrated web piece in which heavily quotes from. Towards the end of his article he inexplicably relates the "white CB" phenomenon with the lack of left handed catchers. What? I will say this. My patience is getting thinner by the day---for the sake of humanity and the birds and the bee we need to start seeing some white CB's for crying out loud.

Look at the bright side of things, White cornerbacks are absolutely dominating at the high school level.

Did anyone else notice a clear example of a non-racial example of dumb coaching, the so-called prevent offense. In this case I'm referring to the Seahawks Texans game at about 1:50 left in the 4th quarter. The Texans were facing a 3 and four, leading by four and the Seahawks had one time out. A first down wins the game, but a conservative rushing play will only force the Seahawks to use their last time out, it won't burn another 40 seconds or so. Of course the Texans opt for the conservative running play, instead of going for the win with a pass play. The only down side with going for the win on a pass play is an incomplete pass which would have allowed the Seahawks to keep their last time out. Texans don't get the first down, and Seahawks get an easy TD.
