I last saw Konecny Knockout British LMW Matthew Hall, on a card in September 2010. Konecny really looked great that night. Very experienced guy, was able to outbox Hall and KO him in the midrounds.

Konecny is a very solid opponent, and I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Baysangurov.

Let me put it this way:

I'd favour Konecny over Black American WBA champion Austin Trout (this guy is no good, Konecny would slaughter him by late stoppage or wide decision). Id also favour him over Cornelius Bundrage WBC 154 champion.

Konecny is a very good fighter and to be honest I'm surprised Zaurbek's management team is risking so much so soon in Zaurbek's career.

In any case, regardless of winner we have a Euro Champ, and also the winner of this fight should rightfully be ranked HIGH at Light Middleweight (though dont expect that from racist, black loving/ Euro ignoring American fans).

Baysangurov-Konecny clash cancelled

http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/baysangurov-konecny-clash-cancelled-109643

Saturday’s world title defense of WBO jr middleweight champion Zaurbek Baysangurov against mandatory challenger Lukas Konecny in Kiev, Ukraine has been canceled after Baysangurov allegedly suffered a back injury in training. Baysanguro-Konecny will be rescheduled as soon as possible according to Konecny’s promoter Ulf Steinforth. This is another bitter pill for Konecny, who last year had a planned world championship fight and rematch with then-WBO champion Serhiy Dzinziruk canceled after Dzinziruk suffered an injury in training 13 days before the fight.

I believe the best stream for today's fight is here

http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/145295/1/watch-ses-boxing:-zaurbek-baysangurov-vs-lukas-konecny.html

or

I cant wait for this fight and Im very excited. I love European Boxing scene and the truth is I get more excited for a good Euro or German fight than I do for any fight in the States, in my opinion, its just much better quality boxing and entertainment.

Cant wait for this one, Baysangurov and Konecny. Yesterday I posted that I thought Konecny would win, but as of today Ill just say its a 50-50 fight. I really don't know who will win and that makes for a great fight to watch!

Really looking forward to this one and Ill post my thoughts when the fight is over.

Baysangurov wins via Unanimous Decision.

Overall I think the result is correct, I might have had it a bit closer than the judges though. Konecny started the fight well with bodywork and pressure shots, but I think around round 4, Baysangurov began to assert control, holding his ground and landing heavier shots.

I was impressed with both guys, especially Baysangurov. He needed this kind of fight to prove he's at championship level after his loss to Bundrage. That loss was a long time ago, and I think this fight proves Baysangurov has improved much since then.

Great fight, this fight was a war. Both guys landed some great shots and those body shots were amazing. Baysangurov was class tonight in being able to stand his ground against Konecny.

Really enjoyed it! :)

Good fight today.

I scored it 116-112 for Baysangurov, who was very accurate and quick with his punches.

But Konecny has a chin of iron and the heart of a lion. Although he took a lot of punishment and his face was bleeding and bruised, he never stopped coming forward until the very end.
