Lost in all the QB talk or lack there of was Ertz's performance last night. Ertz had 6 receptions, 72 yards and 2 TD's. He moved past HOF Ozzie Newsome to 9th all time receiving yards for TE's, 8,044 and is 6th in receptions, 770. He also moved to 43rd on the all time receptions list among receivers. He is currently second behind Kelce on the active white players receptions list.
Thielen moved to 68th, 680. Among active white receivers he is third, behind Kelce and Ertz.
Ertz has had a stellar career that seems to have gone unnoticed?

I wouldn't say he's gone unnoticed here, just that nobody bothered to start an Ertz thread until now. :) Doing a site search he's been mentioned on around 200 threads, mostly the weekly and team ones. There's undoubtedly other White players who have earned their own thread that don't have one either.

I always consider 70 catches in a season for a tight end to be up there in elite territory and Zach has had six of them. His 2018 season was one of the best ever for the position -- 116/1,163/8. He's always been very solid and easy to overlook, which is too bad.

Very good career for Ertz. Only one 1000+ yard season. Never a 10 TD season. But a very solid career with good longevity. Married a women’s soccer star. Will definitely have some athletic children.

It quite the achievement indeed! Perhaps he hasn’t garnered as much attention as he’s always been on dark teams with black QBs throwing to him? I wonder out of those 770 catches, how many have come from a White QB? Must be a small percentage.

Ertz played his first three years when Chip Kelly coached the Eagles, which were among the relatively White friendliest teams of this century. I'd say it's more him being overshadowed by Gronk, Kelce and later Kittle, who were regularly or semi-regularly putting up thousand yard seasons and are all-time greats whereas Ertz just had the one big year statistically. He was always a tier just below the superstars. But as I wrote above, he's been mentioned on hundreds of threads so it's not like we were unaware of him: https://castefootball.us/search/206208/?q=zach+ertz&o=date
