OK, so its not a real sport but it is a league (if you want to call it that) where the majority of its superstars are (and always have been) white. True, there are a lot of Mexicans but look at some of the biggest stars over the last couple of years.. Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, as well as some up and comers like Edge, Mr Kennedy, Christian (although he left) Chris Masters, John Cena (unfortunately he's a wigger) Randy Orton, etc..

I also think that Vince McMahon has fairly been pro-white with some of the way minority characters have been portrayed, ie, blacks as buffoons, Mexicans as thieves and landscapers. I give kudos to Vinnie Mac for not being agraid to be politically incorrect. WWE programming is one of the only few things worth watching on TV anymore

Wrestling is the only place on t.v. where you see white men who aren't emasculated pansies. Another thing on TV. southerners are portrayed very badly but in wrestling Stone Cold Steve Austin was the biggest star for some time. When my dad sees me watching wrestling he freaks out and says its trash then he goes watch desperate housewives with my mom.

I don't watch it, I think it's too flamboyant and over the top, but when I'm channel surfing and catch a little bit of wrestling on Spike TV, it always seems like the black guy beats the white guy. A few weeks ago I even saw one black guy beating two white men. Maybe it's just a coincidence that that's all I see.

the only black wrestler that has really been pushed the last few years has been Booker T (I dont consider the Rock to be black) The reason being is that most of them dont have very good promo skills, therefore their ability to get over with the fans is hampered whereas a white performer with very good speaking skills is very much more likely to get over and get a sustained push. I think its really the only "sport" that truly is immune to the caste system and lets its white performers be portrayed in a positive light

WWE Smackdown seems to be the ghetto leagues now. You have Bobby
Lashley (Billed as some kind of black Hercules), Booker T, and
returning just this week was Mark Henry. Don't forget Orlando Jordan
but he seems to be more of a jobber to Benoit.

Raw is the white dominated show, although the champ is a stupid wigger boy.

The Rock is half-black and half-Samoan. I consider
him to be black.

The Rock is definitely black in my book.

well as far as the rock goes, he definately looks more samoan to me, and I think he probably identifies more with that side of his family. thats why I dont consider him to be black

I also like this "sport" because of the respect, toughness and stardom it will still grant the white man. These guys are real athletes with some of the stunts they pull in the ring night in and night out. Yes I know it's fake..it's a soap opera for guys...I just wish it was still as family friendly as it used to be in the mid 80's where the good guys were good and the bad guys were bad....too many anti-heroes now..

And too many people who want the anti-hero to win.

Exactly White-Shogun. Anti-heroes like that beer swilling foul mouthed stone cold steve austin with his Austin 3:16 shirt "don't trust anybody" crapola.... My little brother (34 years old) thinks he's near God- like and worships the ground he walks on....disgusting!Love the good old days of the hulk hogan(80's version), von erichs and sting..those days are gone!

The Von Erichs were my favorite when I was a kid, especially Kerry. I thought he looked like Hercules.

The beginning of the end of my interest in wrestling occured when I went to a live match, when I was still just a boy. The Von Erichs were there and I was ready for some wrestling!

But watching it live was much different than on the TV, and it was blatantly fake. The setups, strikes, everything, they were all poorly executed and the wrestlers didn't even seem particularly motivated to put on a good show.

And that was the end of my interest in wrestling.

I don't recall that the Rock plays up race too much, either. He doesn't claim to be black only but 'celebrates' all his heritage, doesn't he?

The Rock is my favorite post-80s wrestler. When he started out, he was
in, I forget the name of it, but a group that pushed it's blackness, and he
realized pretty soon that was not the way to go to be successful.

He told them, you can take that corny black power concept, turn that
sum'bitch sideways ... And Shove It Straight Up Your Rooty-Poo Candy
Ass!

I expect now that we have MMA competition, Pro Wrestling's shenanigans will gradually die out. There's now a place for excellent wrestlers to go outside of college and the Olympics, now a place to see realistic application of grappling and all-in fighting skills, and now there are real heroes of the ring, most of them White.

I wonder if some of the relentless attacks against MMA actually come from the pro-wrestling world. Even though alot of people have been crippled and killed doing wrestling stunts, and no one's ever died in a sanctioned MMA match.

White Savage...I heard recently that Hulk Hogan had a few derogatory remarks about the ufc recently. I didn't hear what they were. Does anybody know what he said? I did hear chuck norris say some positive things about the ufc the other day and his close friendship with randy couture.

It's interesting to note that the WWE just signed Oleg Prudius, an Eastern European to a contract.

Prudius, 6'6 310 pounds, was an amateur wrestler, Sambo champion, Kickboxer, played lineman in Germany, where he won best lineman twice and won the Euro Superbowl. He's done some acting, knows judo, and played rugby.

Talk about an impressive resume.

I would hate to face that guy in a octagon, ring or dark alley. I wonder if he will be a face or heel in the wwe. I hope he has good mike skills or his career will be short.

I meant speaking skills. Getting over on the crowd and getting them to hate you or love you is everything in the wwe. Mat skills are secondary.

I don't know what Hulk Hogan said about UFC but if it had anything to do with the lack of athletisism involved there then he should be the one to talk.Hogan was a terrible wrestler.

I liked him as a character but his wrestling moves consisted of headlocks, legdrops, punches and the dreaded "hulking up". Still arguably he single handedly brought pro wrestling into the mainstream of american life.

Hulk Hogan definitely did that.Over the years I liked watching guys who can really work a match like Chris Benoit,Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. You also have guys who may not be real good in-ring workers but they can take some good bumps which makes a lot of their matches entertaining a la Mick Foley. He used to take some insane bumps.Anyone remember the Hell In The Cell match from Pittsburgh in 1998 when Foley was tossed off the top of the cage by the Undertaker on to a table.Classic.

I do remember that match. That was about a 30 foot drop. I agree with you about the in-ring workers like Benoit and Michaels. My favorite wrestler Sting(Steve Borden) is back with TNA on Spike TV on sat. nights. Sting and Shawn Michaels are both devout Christians and Shawn is still so popular with the fans that he can tell Vince McMahon that he is not comfortable saying and doing certain things in the ring and on the mike. Vince for years has been chasing Sting and trying to sign him to a contract but he refuses to work with him and spend all the time away from his family that a wwe wrestler has to do. I am glad he is back(one year contract) with TNA. He is no anti-hero either. He is truly one of the good guys and I love how he comes out in black leather and white face paint..ala the movie"the crow". I know this is not a real sport guys..it's just fun to watch..I was raised on this stuff. Wish it was more family friendly though..If I had a kid..don't think I would let him watch it..especially wwe.
