There is a thread dedicated to Mike Furrey, so I thought I would make one for another underrated and underappreciated white WR, Wes Welker of the Miami Dolphins.

If you have ever seen him, you know he is one of the best WR in the NFL at making plays after catching the ball. He has great speed and is always fighting for extra yards. He also returns punts and is one of the better returners in the game.

At the moment, Wes Welker has more receptions (41)then some of big name WR in football.....

Chad Johnson (40) TJ Houshmanzadeh (39) Javon Walker (39) Keyshawn Johnson (37) Terry Glenn (36) Isaac Bruce (35)

Actually there are five other Wes Welker threads in the NFL forum.

Try to use the search function before starting a thread on a player. I think it's better to have all the info and views on a subject in the same thread for posters and guests to find and read rather than having them spread out. But appreciate the effort, Irish Raven, thanks for being a poster here!

I normally like Madden but a few games back I heard Madden refer to Welker saying specifically: "He's not fast." This was part of his speal giving Welker a compliment on a great long pass play. What a typical left handed compliment Caucasian players get based on broad generalized stereo types.

Guess what.
If Wes Welker goes the distance with a punt return this year, as he has looked close to pulling off a couple of times, he will be the first Dolphins player to return a punt for a touchdown since Jeff Ogden in October 2000.

I believe that was a kickoff return - not a punt return?
