Lawrence Phillips was, short of the convicted murderers that have played in the NFL, the most criminally prone player ever. This article doesn't list all his crimes by any stretch. One I remember was when he beat the hell out of his girlfriend while at Nebraska and then dragged her down a flight of stairs by her hair. Yet the Rams still drafted this scum in the first round and he was given multiple opportunities both in the NFL and CFL after being arrested time and again.

Former NFL running back Phillips sentenced in LA to prison

Former NFL running back Lawrence Phillips was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison, two years after he was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon.

The sentencing was repeatedly delayed while Phillips fought to withdraw a guilty plea in a domestic abuse case that could have led to a stiffer sentence.

This guy is a sick bastard. The kind of idiot that should be at the end of a rope. The article linked above doesn'tcover a tenth of the crimes that scum has done in his life. As Don mentioned the a-hole beat the hell out of his stupid ass white girlfriend, a basketball player on the Nebrasks womens team. Kate McEwen.

What kind of a society lets their women think that there is anything but disaster in a relationship with sick thugs like this?

Phillips was driven to rage by the fact that she was in the same room with a white player QB Scott Frost, a great white running QB that was switched to safety in the pros.

Phillips has had problems everywhere, in college, the NFL, in Europe, in Canada (cut twice for arguing and threatening his coaches). He has committed violent crimes whereever he has went, it is another sick part of the caste-system that this animal would be given chance after chance to earn millions of dollars instead of being locked behind bars where he belongs.

They should transfer him to the prison cell OJ will be in. They have a lot in common and I am not just talking about football. They both love beating up on white women and they can regale each other with such stories. Of course OJ will always be one up on Lawrence in that category since he nearly decapitated his wife.

"I'm sorry you have to come in here like this," Phillips said, adding that he "wanted the chance to say I didn't mean to hurt people."

Oh? If it wasn't your intent to hurt people...why would you drive a vehicle into them? Was it your intent to not hurt them by doing this?

There was a fair amount of mention concerning Phillips' assault on the female Nebraska basketball player during his senior year. Most of the comment was that it had unfortunately cost him the Heisman Trophy. A theme I saw several times was that Tom Osborne had to recruit "inner city" players such as Lawrence Phillips in order to compete for the National Championship.

Phillips was drafted No. 1 by the Rams who were coached by Dick Vermeil. Vermeil went out of his way to defend Phillips after drafting him.

I have a friend who claims that the pro football players of the 1930's were more criminally inclined than today's players. "The old-time pro football players were terrible people. They commited crimes, but the press covered it up," he said.

This kind of ad hoc revisionism is one of the favorite arguments of our enemies. They have no evidence whatsoever, it's pure conjecture.

The headline at CNNSI concerning Phillips is that he was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Jail?

Why not use the more powerful "prison" instead of "jail." I know I'm nitpicking on this one but the word usage really stood out to me for some reason.

Wasn't Phillips the one Vermeil was literally crying about?

So let's see...now we've got Michael Vick, OJ Simpson and Lawrence Phillips in the big house. Didn't I just read something somewhere about Travis Henry also. We seem to be putting together quite a little prison all-star team.

Vick hands off to Phillips ...he's at the twenty, the ten... touchdown San Quentin!!!Edited by: Poacher

There was rampant corruption at the college level as Harvard and Yale both football powers decided they weren't going to compete against the big schools anymore because of the pay offs to recruits were getting out of control. As for the pros maybe the players were bar fighter types ie the Tooz, but they were nothing like Phillips. He is a another species on to himself.....

Rising up and overthrowing an overbearing and haughty empire is a bit different from critical and condemning prose.

As to what that has to do with ANYTHING at all in this topic; I have no idea.

It has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Threads get derailed around here all the time. It's fairly commonplace on Internet message boards for a thread to contain posts on more than one topic and running dialog between two or more participants.

And as a moderator it's my job to keep people on topic but what I really want to know is what's the deal with Lindsay Lohan? Is she really a lesbian or is she just trying to be hip and will end up with a guy in the end.

On second thought, it has a lot to do with this thread: Isn't the caste system overbearing and haughty?

p.s. I don't know if Lohan is really gay or just pretending. I'll withhold judgment til the bootleg sex tape comes out. Edited by: White Shogun

LiLo just wants a white boyfriend- a real man. They are hard to find in show business. Maybe she should get another job.
